Wow, man. That ******** sucks.
And yeah, they'll probably turn around and say something that sounds a bit like 'I don't think you're old enough to make this decision yet'.
Haha ******** them.
My mother is learning to accept the fact that I'm a boy. Just I still have to wait until I come out to the rest of my family.
I wouldn't sue anyone, so they've got nothing to worry about xP
Charing Cross is 3/4 hours away from me I think.
Well tomorrow I'm finally going to see the doctor about it, I'm a bit nervous, considering she's my moms doctor, but I'll be sure to let her know what to do, I don't think I'll be going anywhere like Bristol however, a bigger city maybe.

Transsexual Testosterone

Oh, God.

Whenever I talk to my mom about trans stuff (she doesn't know about me- I'm just testing the water.) and kids going on hormones around the time of puberty, all she does is say that she doesn't think they were old enough to know what they were doing and will regret it later.

Pfft.

That sort of thing pisses me off more than anything.
Its so ******** annoying.
I look about 18-20 in real life. But yeah... I'm very ashamed of my age.

I hate to sound like an old fart, but a lot of young people I've known that came out as Trans later went on to find out that they were not Trans at all, just going through a stage in their self-discovery and self-acceptance.

I do not blame Doctors at all for wanting to wait. I've known since I was 13, I am living proof that waiting until you are a young adult will not kill you. (I turn 19 tomorrow)

They are being safe and sensible. They do not know you personally, they do not know your state of mind, your mental health or your personal history.

Too many people seem to think that there are Trans people, and non-Trans people. This is not true at all. Plenty of people think they're Trans when they're not, go through phases, etc.

Transgenderism is so rare that you need to be very, very cautious in case you accidently ******** up someone's life.

Please do not speak rudely as if Doctors are the enemy, because without them you would get absolutely nothing. The reason that it's easier to get things privately is because you are paying, it is all about money, and that is why some private practises will do absolutely anything for a quick payment - and that is dangerous.

No you don't sound like an old fart xd I completely agree with you.
I've known I was trans since the age of 5. And have thought about surgery since the age of 11. O fcourse, I won't be able to get surgery done until I'm older, but at least then that'll give me some time to think about it more. Like what specific surgery I want done, and time to get the money for it.
I was looking at prosthetic penises yesterday, I really want one whee The one from the ftm prosthetics looks really good. It costs £750/$1500 though sweatdrop
My mom already noticed I was trans, but she was a little surprised that I chose this time to come out to her. She noticed I wanted to be a boy since the age of 5 too. She supports me wanting testosterone, and is happy to sign any forms/anything to give her permission for anything.
I went to the doctor yesterday, I was really nervous considering the woman is my mothers doctor and also I had to explain everything. With friends I feel comfortable, but with someone who doesn't know anything about transsexuality, it was a bit odd. The doctor is referring me to a psychiatrist 3nodding So I'm on my first steps there!

Alright, so this isn't exactly the same as the original question. But where is the best place to start when trying to get testosterone in the US?
Would it better to mention it to a GP first or to just look for a therapist who is trans-experienced?
Looking through the DSM-VI it says to be eligible one must meet 3 criteria:
1. Be 18 years of age
2. Demonstrable knowledge of what hormones medically can and cannot do and their social benefits and risks.
3. Either:
a. A documented real-life experience of at least three months prior to the administration of hormones; or
b. A period of psychotherapy of a duration specified by the mental health professional after the initial evaluation (usually a minimum of three months).

This makes me wonder: Documented real-life experience: Who does it have to be document by? Them or yourself. I don't think I would benefit from psychotherapy, is part of my issue with this, the second being that I attend university 5 hours away from where I live. So... I dunno, any suggestions?

You're likely better off trying to find a trans savy therapist.

I dunno if they do this in the UK or if it'd be too late for you, but if they make an issue of your age you could ask them about hormone blockers. Taking those basically stops puberty from happening, so that if/when you decided to start T it'll be more effective and most likely cause you to look more masculine than it would with someone who's already gone through female puberty. And if you decide that you don't want to go on T then you just stop taking the blockers and let nature take its course.
