Moving quickly made the difference between life and death out here, even for an oddling cub that had mostly lived on carrion. Perhaps especially for someone who lived mostly on scavenge. Aside from having to find food before someone else ate all of it, there was the little matter of getting away from the food before you became a side dish. So Oshi followed, and he made sure he kept up, though Jewels consideration of his shorter legs helped immensely.
The breeze kicked up from behind them, sending along a whiff of their former breakfast and its newest guest. The scent triggered a pale red color in his mental vision, and it smelled only of one creature. Bright red was the large groups of big, heavy-set cats, a darker red for the tree-climbers. This pale red, almost pink, belonged to the lanky runners, who were fast but much more easy to damage. This one had a sickly white color tinting it that he associated with extreme hunger. It would stick to the food unless forced away, and was likely weak enough not to bother them even if it did come across them.
The breeze shifted again, and then died, so Oshi resumed his silent vigil, swinging his head around to check behind them as well from time to time. Simply because he had identified no threats thus far didn't mean they weren't around. Assuming something like that would land them quite dead in short order, he was sure. He was wondering how far this place of Others and safety was... but he was content to wait until it presented itself. He had little enough else to look forward to.
