My uncle once tried pot back in the 60's (he was a teen), and it didn't screw him up just trying it once. He's now a very cool computer geek in Southern California. My father used to drink sometimes (and sometimes get drunk), but it never screwed him up more than he already was (long rant, but I do complain about him). However, my father's biological father was an alcoholic and died an alcoholic. Two of my "rules to live by" are "always in moderation" and "try not to do dumb things or things later regretted".

ShamefulNERD IdlersDream No offense but.. Get over it. You told us in the 60's guild and we appreciate your opinion but just because you have some examples of these hard core drug addicts doesn't mean that happens to everyone. Most of our parents grew up through the 60's and 70's, some of them did drugs. I doubt every single one of our parents ended up in jail, horribly disfigured and in a jail cell. I'm sorry about your dad. But, just because he was an alcoholic/ did drugs, may not mean that contribute to him becoming really sick when he does say get a cold. Anyone who has a low immune system, when they get a cold, they get it REALLY bad usually. And they usually get nemonia too if they have low immune systems. From what I know, being an alcoholic and doing drugs in the pasts never lowered your immune system. And with the brain cell thing, yes, they do lower brain cells. But not every alcoholic you meet or druggie you meet, is a complete dumbass. My old science teacher, we found out he smoked pot all the time. And he was a genius. Plus, it doesn't change everyone. You're making everyone who has ever taken an illegal drug or has drank a stereotype that they will turn out to be hideous, end up in jail and die. Oh yes, and about having a temper. That just depends what kind of drunk he is, or how he acts when he's high. Or if he's say, coming down from the drug. But as you said it, he WAS an alcoholic and did drugs. From what I know, I don't think that doing those things will change how mad you get about things. Plus, a lot of men have tempers. I doubt your dad's temper is close to the way my dad and brother act about things haha.

Hehe, I've got a frightful temper, and I've only had an occasional sip of wine. razz My dad was talking about marijuana the other day at the grocery store (a little too loudly, I think) and said "You know, I smoked pot when I was younger. So did your mom." "Yeah, I know," I said. "Well, I knew about mom, and I just assumed as much about you." So then we talked about the government conspiricy regarding marijuana, and how almost half of people in jail are there because of marijuana-related 'crimes', and how simple posession can lead to a felony and therefore prevent you from ever voting. Smell fishy, anyone? And it was Nixon who started it.

My mom didn't do any drugs;even though all her nieces did. My mom was treated like a princess, and such. She never got into that stuff. She just kept to her dolls. XP

My mom and brother smoke and they have asthma, and surprisingly, my mom has the lungs of a 20 year old our doctor said. And she's 50. Which is pretty good considering she's been smoking cigarettes since she was 18 she said.
Did you ever think your roommate could've just been born hideous? razz

I've been offered pot and an invitation to try acid but I turned them both down.
