Edward opened Bella's door as usual and she stepped out. He wrapped a protective arm around her waist and walked her to the door. He smiled and apparted from her. He walked around the house and climbed into her room window. He sighed and sat down in the rocking chair and stayed quiet and still.

Vampire? Where and how do they know I'm here with Bella? Edward thought.

Bella skipped in through the front door and stared at Charlie as he watched the latest game. "Hi Dad!" she chimed as she waved then skipped up the stares. She and Edward had a good day. Nothing had threatened her life. She tripped and cursed herself. She got up and walked into her room.

"Edward?" she called to him as she turned on her dim light.

As Aurora sat in her living room she caught the scent of yet another vampire approaching the neighbors house. Her interest was truely peaked now. She wanted to meet this neighbor of hers. Aurora slipped her shoes on and walked out of her house. It began to sprinkle at that moment, so she put the hood to her dress up. She ran to the neighbors house at her usual inhuman speed, thinking nothing of it with nobody around to see. When she reached the door she knocked gently on the door and put on a bright, but shy smile as someone came to answer the door. And older man opened the door and looked a bit shocked at the girl standing there.

"Hello... Do I know you?" He asked.

"No... But... I'm new here. I just moved in next door. I thought I would come introduce myself..." Aurora responded in a shy voice.

She looked up at the human with a shy look and smiled.

"Oh. Why don't you come in. My name is Charlie Swan by the way." He said, stepping out of the way for Aurora to enter.

Aurora entered the house, still smiling shyly.

"My name is Aurora Tate."

"Well... Uhh.. I have a daughter about your age. Would you like to meet her?"

Aurora nodded. Charlie walked to the stairs and leaned in, holding onto the railing.

"Bella! Come down here please!" He shouted up.

As Charlie looked away, Aurora's nose twitched as she sniffed the air.

"Yes... This is definetly where the sweet blooded girl is...and she has a vampire up there with her too... Odd." She thought to herself.

Aurora noticed Bella's reaction and that she was taken aback by her appearance. She smiled nervously, just like Bella.

"She must be aware of what a vampire looks like, because she certainly seems a bit frightened by me." She thought to herself.

Aurora polietly reached out to shake Bella's, her shy and nervous expression not changing one bit.

"Hi Bella. I just thought I'd come by and meet my neighbors." She said in a soft shy voice.

Edward. one of the strongest vampires she's ever smelled. And he even has the same gift as me She thought, it will be very hard to get to that human with him always around
Then she froze as she remembered that edward can read minds too. Kassie dashed into the forest at her normal inhuman speed leaving no trace behind her.
She thought.
A small black peice of fabric quivered in the wind.

Bella was struck with a little surprise as Aurora spoke. She stared at her and tried not to seem alarmed. How does she know about Edward? Bella slowly nodded. "Uh, dad, I'm gonna show Aurora my room," Bella stated.

She turned and went up the stairs and tried to stay balance. She glanced behind her a few times as she walked up the stares and slowly went for her door. She swallowed hard and walked in and toward Edward.

"Edward...this is Aurora," Bella stated. She lowered her voice. "She's a vampire and I can't tell if she's the good kind."

Edward glanced up at Aurora and stared at her. It felt like something was pulling on his body and earging him to embrace the female vampire. he tried to ignore it as he pulled Bella onto his lap and embraced her.

"Aurora, was it? I am Edward Cullen," he stated clmly.

Aurora smiled kindly at Edward.

"Hi. I don't mean to interupt your personal time together, but since school is still a few weeks away I thought I'd meet my neighbor," She said pointing to Bella. "and when I caught your scent... I was hoping to meet you as well." She said, looking a bit shy still.

"I actually caught your scent over at my house. I'm gussing you've known each other for a while. Your distinct scent has sort of...mingled (I guess) with Bella's." She said, feeling nervous now.

Aurora was feeling a bit of regret for just barging in on her neighbor like this, but it had already been done.

"I just got here a few hours ago actually... And, I don't know if you sensed her too, but there was another vampire outside the house. I... I think she was a human hunter." She said being wary of how she said things.

Aurora noticed that twice now, Edward had held Bella tighter. It made her wonder if he was ok.

"Why does he keep holding her tighter? Does Bella feel threatened or something?" She thought as she waited for Edward's responce.

Aurora smiled and nodded.

"When you're not around I can keep an eye out for her again." She said kindly.
"But for now I think I should go. If either of you want to talk I'm right over here." Aurora said pointing to her house.

She smiled shyly again before turning and walking out.

"I'll show myself out so I don't bother you two." She said softly, closing the bedroom door behind her.

Aurora walked back downstairs and back to the front door. She peered into the living room and saw Charlie.

"It was nice meeting you Mr. Swan."

Charlie turned and smiled at her and nodded. Aurora smiled sweetly and put her hood on before walking out. She closed the door behind her and ran back to her house at her usual inhuman pace.
