~After a great dinner at the Thai restaurant, Firefly escorted Lou, and all of Lou's bags, home for the night. There Lou invited him in for cake and tea, to which Firefly happily (and rather excitedly) accepted. After much chit-chating and general getting-to-know-you's, they agreed to meet again the next day~
Firefly waited somewhat impatiently out in front of the local skating rink. He'd been a bit too excited and had arrived a half an hour before they were supposed to meet. The previous night, Lou had attended to his face, to help it heal faster with the right treatments, and today the bruise was mostly gone (though there were other parts of his body still fairly bruised, just not nearly as bad as before). The cake had been delicious, and Firefly could easily recall the taste in his mouth. He hadn't quite expected to have so much fun with Lou, and rather looked forward to meeting him again with the kind of anticipation usually reserved long-planned, fun vacations.
Currently, his attention was completely focused on a small gray rock. He had started out just kicking it back and forth between his feet, but had now gotten to the point where he was trying to do trick shots and making land in certain places. Rather enjoying himself, he took no notice of when Lou finally appeared.

Lou arrived barely five minutes before the accorded time. He panted heavily as he ran from the bus station to the meeting place, holding his messenger bag to prevent it from falling off his shoulders. "I'm here, I'm here!" he called out as he arrived, slowing to a stop.
He'd dressed quite fashionable for the day, and he'd even brought what seemed to be two paper bags with food in them. Lunch? Most likely. Why bother in spending money on badly cooked food when you could bring your own nice, home-made lunch on your outings? Ah, but he'd brag about those later. He greeted Firefly effusively, shaking his hand and smiling at him. "I'm sorry, have I made you wait too long? I came as soon as I could, I swear! But come on, let's go; I have a class later today, I want spend a good time skating~"
His hand grasped the other man's wrist to almost drag him inside, chuckling. "The last time I was here, I was like, twelve... maybe younger. I'm not too good at it, so you'll have to teach me!"

The familiar voice suddenly speaking to him jarred his concentration. He missed the next kick on the stone, and instead his shoe made a nice skid sound as it pushed too hard onto the surface of the concrete. He looked over at Lou, only catching about the last half of the conversation. He barely got to smile and say, "Hey, Lou!" before being dragged off by the happy unicorn.
"The last time I was here, I was like, twelve... maybe younger. I'm not too good at it, so you'll have to teach me!"
Firefly laughed a little weakly. He couldn't really remember the last time he'd roller-bladed. He'd been decent at it, and had enjoyed speed skating, but he wasn't sure if his skills would be up to the standards Lou seemed to be expecting. Well...I won't know until I step out on the rink, so I'll worry about it later! He put his troubles aside and just enjoyed the enthusiasm Lou had.
When they went to check in to the roller rink and rent the skates, before Lou had the chance, Firefly pulled out his wallet to pay for the both of them. He had been determined since this morning to treat Lou to the skating after having that wonderful cake last night~ |D
He had even practiced a few times at home at "ninja-ing" his cash to the cashier, and trying to look suave while doing it. Thinking back on it, he felt a little stupid for doing something like that, and now that the time had finally come, he was fumbling getting the cash out, which caused his cheeks to redden a bit. After far too much hassle he finally paid the woman (who had just smiled and politely waited for Firefly).
