Katie answered simply, "She's not here, I think." Then, Katie continued flapping her majestic black wings effortlessly, almost naturally. She felt so at home in this Dream World. Then, Katie sped up her flying speed a bit and landed gracefully on the branch of a large, old, steady oak tree with a flurry of feathers as she folded her wings behind her back.
She looked like a humanoid bird as she kneeled on that thick branch! A couple of birds revealed their hiding place as they fluttered out of the tree like an old love washed away with the wind. Katie's face looked neutral, though leaning toward content and happy as a small smile crept onto her lips. Katie thought, I hope I can stay here longer... Wow, that would be really nice! A great escape to...my dreams? Well, it's definitely not sleeping! So I suppose it shouldn't be called a dream. Well, whatever.

Cid flared her pale wings and made them as big and as fluffy as she could. Then she fell back ward and layed down on them.
Soft as silk she thought.
"You know what the best part is about our dream world is?"
She went along and reminded Katie for the 2000th time. "We could spend an eternity here, and hop back into the real world, like nothing ever happened."
As soon as she finished her sentance, a small gold-and-red phoenix hopped out and squealed for a pet on the head.
Cid laughed "This is Feo. Kind, but a little bit perky." She said with a smile.

"Hi there!" cooed Katie as she pet the beautiful and cute phoenix on the head. Then, she acknowledged Cid's earlier reminder with a quick, curt little nod - barely noticeable, in fact. Nonetheless, she did acknowledge it. She smiled and said softly, "The thing I love most is all the possibilities here...and the mysterious ways of things." She looked around with semi-wide eyes, taking a deep breath and taking in all the ethereal scents, scenery, and sounds.
It was all very serene, but exciting at the same time. The Dream World was beautiful, but harsh too. It was everything all at once! Or so it seemed to Katie. All in all, the Dream World was a wonderful place to go to! It was filled to the brim with adventures!

Cid was about to decide to keep laying down, but she pulled herself up.
"Aw what am I doing? I should be using this kind of time resourcefully! Besides, I could always lay down and take a nap in history!" She said with a brisk chuckle.
She flapped her wings up into the air. "Come on! I'll race you!"

A smile tugged at Katie's lips as they curled into a grin. She leaped into the air, hovering, and said, "Three...two...one...Go!" She then flapped her black wings rapidly, soaring through the skies at top speed. A few feathers actually molted off! Fluttering down to the earth below. She flew faster than she ever ran in the Real World! She dipped and dived, presented lovely loop-the-loops in mid-air! Katie smiled as she flew, and practiced fun, little tricks.
The Dream World is awesome! thought Katie.

Cid was aloft as Katie jumped into the air.
"Race to... the tree!" She shouted to her. Ahead, there was a large redwood tree only a kilometer away.
She bolted off, just as Katie practiced her little tricks. I aim to win!
She thought to herself. The only times she'd been here, she'd lost to Katie in these races, now, it was payback.
Her pale wings flared in the air, it was better to catch as much air as possible.
She turned her head, was Katie catching up?
She didn't have time to think this as she crashed into a tall tree, her face glued onto it. She peeled herself off the tree, and crashed down.
Oww. "I should really watch where I'm going!" She said with a big laugh.

Katie laughed softly and announced, "That's why slow and steady wins the race!" As Cid crashed into the tree, and crashed down, Katie sped up her speed, bolting through the skies at top speed. She flew through the skies, flapping her wings rapidly to add extra speed in addition to the favorable wind.
The redwood tree was coming up quickly...and Katie hastily braked, placing a hand on the soft, cool wood of the tree and smiling without a word. She wasn't one to be braggy or boastful, so she simply looked at the tree, taking in all the lovely details.

Cid pulled herself up, and in seconds, was aloft again, this time with a sore face.
"Great, how many of my loses is that? Seven? Eight?" she said with a giggle.

Katie smiled humbly and said, "No, no...no matter if you lose. As long as you have fun!" Katie fluttered about and yelled, "NO!" She saw the Dream World melting away before her very own eyes. The landscape blurred, like a painting that has been spilled with murky water. Soon, there was only blackness, and the void, and then there was a bright light and everything was completely white. Soon, the whiteness slowly morphed into the Real World - where she had left off before entering the Dream World.

She glanced at the clock and thought, No time has passed... She smiled as her pencil waved across her paper, taking notes as she listened to her teacher speak.

Cid smiled at this. Katie was always so philosophical, in a way.
She looked over, the sky was blurring. She widened her eyes in disappointment.
"Aww, already? I barely had time to enjoy this." She waved a quick bye to Feo, and felt herself already in the seat of her history class. She closed her eyes, and felt the history book in her hands.
She looked around. Everything was the same, the time hadn't moved from a second from when she left. She grumbled a little to herself before she fell asleep in her history book.
She would have to meet Katie in another period.

Ellie ran up to the school. She went straight into the office and got her late note. What a strange dream, it made me over-sleep! She said, rushing to her locker. She put her things down and opened the locker. She fumbled to get her things out and close the locker. I can't wait to tell Katie and Cid about my dream!

Soon, the first period ended, and the second period began. Katie excited gathered up all her things, and left the classroom - heading to her next class. Language arts! That was one of her favorite subjects; well, all her subjects were her favorites. She couldn't choose just one! Anyhow, she was excited to go to Language Arts because she just finished her book report, and wanted to turn it in early! Katie loved writing book reports! It was something about them...that just made them exciting to write!
