Kindyetcruel Shinta Hitokiri Kindyetcruel Am I the only one who would find comfort in knowing the date of my death? Not for the whole "I'm going to be well known!" or "Nothing can kill me before then!" deal, but just because its a nice thing to know. I'd know exactly what I want to do in life then. If my time is short, I wouldn't bother wasting what precious time I have working at some job I loathe with every fiber of my being. Personally though, my ideal death is similar to Shinta's, in that its one of a warrior. I want to go down in the summer, during one of those large storms that hits around where I live. They're so powerful that you feel the rain in the air several hours before it hits, and you can just feel the power and intensity of the storm pick up dramatically as it gets closer to that final moment when the rain falls, which it does suddenly and extremely hard. The kind of storm where the clouds are so thick that it causes a midday twilight, where everything is extremely dark and oddly illuminated, and where the wind is constantly blowing strong and warm from all directions. Those storms instantly make me feel entirely awake and alive, as well as completely at peace with the world. No matter how badly I feel before stepping outside to feel the air before it hits, all physical and mental problems I have are instantly shut down as my mind's too busy paying attention to the power of the storm. Honestly, its one of the greatest feelings I've ever felt in my life, its like nature saying "Hey, look at me and respect my power." Funny how I get that feeling more from that type of storm than tornadoes. But I wish for the weather to be like that, and I want it to happen in the middle of a large field surrounded by trees. And I want an orchestra or band of some kind playing off in the distance, out of sight but close enough that the wind clearly carries the sound of their music. I'm happy with just one opponent, preferably one who can pull my berserker out and make me surpass even that state. I wish to kill my opponent first, with the music fitting the fight. Once my opponent is dead, I want to die after walking over to a nearby tree and leaning up against it while I enjoy one last drink and one last smoke, with my soul leaving my body right as the rain hits. I also wish for my funeral to be a party, similar to how the Vikings did it, though I don't wish to be cremated. There are few in this world who will remember me for who I truly am, as there are few who I have honestly let in, and I'm content with that. But I don't like hurting those I'm close to, so I want them to rejoice and celebrate the fact that I lived. Mourn my death by feasting, drinking, and having fun. I want everyone to drink at least a sip, regardless of age. I wish for them to walk away unable to cry because of how much fun they had, and because they know without a doubt that I'm in a better place. Beautiful. I feel teh same way about storms. Personally, though, that reason I wouldn't settle for anything less than ten opponenets forcing me down is that Cutter said that it would be the absolute least he would stand for, and he's a Maestro. Once I attain knight, I would certainly not be able to settle for anything less than five. I also forgot about another thing. A fried of mine offered as a gift, when I achieve the rank of knight, to get me a custom set of samurai armor, fully functional, as well as titanium blades completely custom made. So, on top of what I mentioned earlier, as far as the means of death, for the burial, I'd like to be lain to rest under a white oak, I think. The only sort of head stone I'd ask for is my armor and blades to be kept safe and clean in a small shrine that would be of my family's choosing, yet accessible, so that if anyone were to need that armor or those blades, it would be ready to be used in battle. I see. I don't know, I'd see myself getting more enjoyment from one strong opponent than five or ten weaker ones. I want one to push me to my limits and force me to exceed them. I do like the shrine idea though, but I ask you not to accept the titanium blades. Get steel. Trust me when I say steel is far superior when it comes to swords, as I'm going to take up blacksmithing and have done a little research at least. It doesn't have as much carbon as steel (and for this reason is added to stainless steel to lower its carbon content) and therefore it lacks the flexibility required of a blade should it need to go against another. It sounds like a good idea to use titanium at first, but its much better suited to other uses. Steel is still the best material around for battle-worthy blades. Actually, I'm not entirely sure on that, to be hoenst. He siad that they'd be carbon titanium blades, with a nice little crystal diamond edge. Even then, he said he wouldn't mind if I preferred damascus steel for the blades, either, both of which would be nothing short of excellent. At any rate, he literally said that he'd be willing to give me the highest quality blade that is physically possible, and a proper one from titanium would probably be over $10,000 to make. His offer humbled me so much, that I still look at it in amazement.

His offer humbled me so much, that I still look at it in amazement. Oh hell. O_O Damascus... If he's really going to buy you those, ask the smith how they're made. Most "damascus" steel blades on the market today are just normal steel that's been etched with acid to give it that appearance. That's not how its done for the real thing though. Real damascus blades have that appearance naturally as a result of their composition. Carbon nanotubes and stuff like that, which gives them their strength. Back when they were made in India hundreds of years ago, only one out of every thousand or so swords came out as a damascus blade. Blacksmiths at the time had no idea why that happened, just that those blades were strong enough to cut through normal ones without much of a problem. The reason that they were able to be made back then was because of the other minerals mixed in with the iron they recieved. Eventually they figured a way to make the number of damascus swords produced rise, but when that particular type of iron from those mines was completely used up those techniques died down and were pretty much lost. I believe there's a blacksmith in Nevada that makes damascus steel using old ways as well as new techniques. If he's not in Nevada, he's somewhere in the Western United States. The guy's researched damascus blades for years to find out what chemical composition works best for them, and what forging techniques are the most effective. It'd be nice if I could apprentice under him, but even better if I learned on my own just so I could say that I did that. You're extremely lucky to have a friend that would do that for you though. Currently, damascus swords are still the best ones you can get. Though I'm curious to see how things are in a few years... They've already made steel in glass form now, I'm curious at how that works as a sword since the glass steel is more flexible and stronger than regular steel. I don't know if it would hold an edge or not though...

Sure it could cut a normal sword if it had a diamond edge (I'd love to see how they fixed that up) but if the opponent hit the broadside of your sword it could cause problems. Swords are smithed a certain way so they have lower carbon content at front so they can hold and keep an edge, and higher carbon content in the rest of the blade for flexibility, that way they can take blows and be fine. The last thing you need in a fight is a weak sword, because if the blade shatters it'll be like setting off a frag grenade in your face. That's why stainless steel blades are no good, because they will shatter like that.

The edge is recrystalized diamond, and fromm what he said, it's a carbon mixed titatnium, and most likely has some softer metals towards the back for flexibility, but it's primarily titanium, and that makes it so there's no worry of rust, also, which is nice.

I have this weird thing, where I'd rather be forgotten completely after death, then die as a victim. Just the thought makes me angry, I certainly don't want people feeling sorry for me while I'm dead.
The only way I can think of is dying a criminal (which probably won't happen), or suicide. So, I've decided that when I grow older (if I don't die first,) when I've lived my life to the fullest, and am happy and satisfied, or my body is slowly deteriorating and holding me back, bit by bit... I'll make sure I repay all my debts, write a will, spend one day doing everything and anything I want, and then commit suicide in some more elegant way then on a deathbed, old, wrinkled, and confused. It actually makes me feel better about death, knowing that it can almost controll it, if I get that far. At least I won't be a poor helpless soul.
What appeals to be most is maybe dying in a fire, so you couldn't find the remains. Or perhaps dying in a planned drowning, where it's set up and creepy, like being stuck in a fishbowl and still staring outside. Another idea is setting up a whole delicate scene of roses and candles in a room, then while laying on the bed, shooting yourself so you lay sleeping. Or hanging yourself in the forest, with a message pinned to your shirt. Not a suicide note, but a poem, perhaps.
Ah, maybe I just want to shock some people enough that I won't be that forgotten.

I see no glory in that, just a blaze.

I think I would want to know when my time was going to be up just enough time before so I could get things in order. Then again, maybe I wouldn't, maybe it would make me fret busily those last days instead of living.
But if I had my choice I'd certainly hope I could aim my life at achieveing something, but in the wake of that failure I guess I would certainly hope my death could serve some greater purpose.

When you're thinking about getting your things in order remember your life insurance won't pay out on a suicide.

Me?
My idea of a 'Blaze of Glory' is going out in a way which the world will not forget me cool
I know it sounds impossible, but I would try to do something like take Bush down with me, or do something that would benifit, or if I'm feeling mean, do bad to the world.

I'm a procrastinator. If I knew when I would die, I would wait until the day before to start trying to make my life meaningful. Imo, that's a very bad thing. I would rather not know and spend every die trying to be the best person I can be so that I will be ready when it happens.
As for going out with a bang, that's not for me. I'd rather my life be its own bang and go off in a way that would cause the least amount of pain to those I leave behind (being showered in bits of me, for example, would definitely cause a lot of emotional trauma).

*sigh* The sad truth is that you cant be remembered for ever.
Everything, given enough time is forgotten... even the most famous celebrities like Elvis or Marylin Monroe will be forgottern in a few centuries.
So: Id like to be remembered by the people that I actually give a dam about.
I shouldnt expect my death to alter peoples lives who have no conection to me cause thats just STUPID.
If by going out in a Blaze of Glory I cause millions of poor helpless school children to have to learn about it its OBVIOUSLY not worth it.
It would be fun to go out with a bang (as it were) but I wouldnt actually be around to enjoy it.
I think it would be nice to die with no pain at all. But maybe by a lake...in winter....just after the sun has set and the world is grey and misty...and the rich smell of grainy earth is in the air and there are small puddles around....That would be AWESOME cool

I think I'd want to die in a blaze of glory myself. Maybe in the greatest swordfight of all time...*.* or maybe I'll open the gates of Hell and jump in...
lol Honestly? Anyone I'd prefer to fight against don't exist. I'd rather fight to the death against someone I respect than someone who isn't trained to fight with a sword and would rather just pull out a gun and basically cheat. IMHO, the best way to die is by glorified sword-battling...
And maybe some fireworks... ninja mrgreen
