Elva's mother came in with a sweet smile on her face and a tray of food in her hands. She walked over to the bed and rested the tray on the bedside table. Elva stood up respectfully and smiled at her mother. "Mama, I was about to make some food for him! But it looks like I don't have to! Thank you!" she said sweetly, planting a light kiss on her mother's cheek. Elva's mother smiled and looked at Hans. "My my he is a handsome man! It's a pity no one in this village is as good lokking as you my dear!" she said cheerfully. She turned to Elva and smiled to herself, she knew that look in her eyes. Ahh, my Elva has finally found someone to like! I'm so happy! It's a shame he's a German soldier! Her father would have most definitely disapproved! She sighed then turned to Hans again. "Go ahead and eat up my dear! Just look to my Elva here to take care of you!" she said, reaching over to pinch Elva's cheek. Elva blushed again. "Thank you Mama!" Her mother nodded then quietly walked out of the room. Elva looked at the door for a minute then sat back down. "You should follow what my mother said and eat up if you want to get strong again!" she said, smiling sweetly.

Hans just about fell over when the bubbly sweet woman came in the room, what's wrong with these people..?! I'm an enemy soldier for heavens sake! Why are they being so kind to me?! It took him a moment as he stared after the woman as she left to get his senses back together, including his stomach. He sat down on the edge of the bed putting the try in his lap as he ate up the meal greedily. After just a few minutes he licked the spoon and put it in the empty bowl as there was just dishes and crumbs left to see on the tray! I was hungrier than i thought.. Hans stood the try in hand and said to Elva "Where should i wash these..?" Soldier or no, he had been raised in a good family and manners always came first and when you're a guest it's custmary to at least offer to clean the dishes if not more.

Elva quickly got up and placed her hands on Han's shoulders. She added preasure and pushed him back down on the bed slowly. "No please, I'll do those for you! You must rest!" she said as she let go of Hans and took the dishes. Just when she was about to open the door, one of her younger brothers barged in. Elva jumped back quickly, her heart pounding quickly in her ears. "Peter, you scared me!" she said to her brother. The little boy blushed and his ears turned red. "I'm sorry Elva, but Mama told me to get the dishes from you once the man was done," he said quietly, his voice high pitch as he was still only four years old. Elva let out a sigh and gave him the dishes. "Would you like me to help you wash them little one?" she asked softly. Peter shook his head quickly, his shaggy hair jumping up and down. He had a small smile on his face like he was keeping a big secret that he wanted to tell. "No Elva, Mama said to stay with the man until he was all better!" At those words, Peter grabbed the doorknob and slammed the door in front of Elva's face. She let out a sigh and went back to sit next to her bed. She sat down, placing her hands neatly on her lap and looked down at her skirt, not getting eye contact with Hans.

Hans sat as she pushed him back down and watched suriously as the scene played out before him, he'd never had a younger sibling, his parents thought it too bothersome. The little boys actions were curious, it was obvious he wasn't good at keeping a secret, then he came right out and said why he was so insistent. Hans couldn't help but smile to himself as the little boy left. "A younger brother I take it..?" Hans said to Elva as she sat down beside him.

Elva blushed a slightly. A small smile appeared on her lips as she began to speak again. "Yes, Peter is my youngest brother. He was born after my father...past away," she said quietly. Elva looked back down at her nails, messing with them nervously. She didn't like talking about her father anymore, even though he was her favorite family member. She lifted a hand towards her necklace and sighed.

It makes more sense now, If they had a father in the house there would have been so much more caution. Come to think of it i'd probubly be a cold corpse outside if their father were alive.. "I'm sorry to hear that, it must have been hard.." Hans said quietly as he looked at the floor between his socks. these must be his old clothes.. Hans had only a moment to think about how awkward it felt not being in his uniform when he snapped to attention My uniform! ####! I'm still behind enemy lines! They'll be looking for me, everyone else from my command is dead, I wasn't focussed on covering my tracks last night, they're going to find me! Hans stood quickly ignoring the pain in his side, as he turnned quickly to Elva "Where's my uniform and my guns?" He hadn't even seen a glimpse of his Luger, or his O3-A1*, and that wasn;t an easy gun to hide. if the guys from that embassy find me here, all these people will be shot as traitors and they'll take me for interrogation! "Damn," he swore lightly under his breath as he glanced out the foggy window. Note** (( this is the gun i was talking about, ))

Elva got up quickly and stood in front of Hans. "Please, you must stay in bed if yuo want that wound to heal properly! I'll get your uniform, I don't know about your gun though. It wasn't around when I found you!" She forced Hans back into bed. "I'll go get your uniform, but you must stay in bed!" She quickly walked out of her room, past her family, who were looking at her strangely. "Make sure he stays in bed! I'll be right back!" At that, she opened the door to ran over to the clothes lines, grabbing the now dry uniform and running over towards the place she found him. Elva looked around the place for any sign of the gun. Where could a gun be? It shouldn't be so hard to find!

Hans was pushed down again as she ran out, theres no time for this! he got up again against her wishes and said to the stunned people in the room beyond "Do you have any kind of weapons here?" if my gun wasn't with me then we've got even bigger problems! Hans tried not to let nay of his anxiety show in his face but the way he stood and spoke said everything he was trying to hide.

Suddenly Elva saw it, the handle of a gun she knew was Hans's. She bent down and took the gun into her hands. Then she heard it, the one sound she hated to hear even now. As the sound of the army coming closer to the village, Elva ran faster to her house. She opened the door quickly then shut it even quicker. She ran over to her family hastily. She gave Hans back his uniform and his gun then turned to her mother. "Mama, the Russian army is outside the village and they are getting closer!" she said hastily....

Hans took the rifle from her already knowing how any shots he had by its weight, or lack thereof. "Well then, they're faster than i thought." Hans went to the door and stood at the side as he openned it. yup thats definitly the sound of BT 8's, they've got dogs too. Dammit! Hans glanced to the family who'd taken him in, I can't let them pay for saving me. Hans took his uniform pulling the long jacket over himself not bothering to switch his pants as he put the hat on over his light blonde hair. Saying as he went back to his position against the wall beside the door, "Elva, i need you to do something.."

Elva looked deep into Hans eyes as he addressed her. She was about to go and help her family into their hiding sopt under the house but thought that maybe Hans needed her, maybe it would have helped her family stay safe. Turning back to her family, she knelt down in front of her brother Oliver. "Since you're the second oldest, I need you to take care of Mama and your siblings for me okay?" she said urgently to him. Oliver nodded and huged Elva. "Be careful okay Elva!" he said then ran off with the family towards Elva's room, where under the rug, was a secret hatch that had a path away from the house and out to the prairies. Be safe! She turned back to Hans. "What do you want me to do?"

Hans glanced back and forth from the door he'd left cracked open to Elva's quick farwell nervously. He quickly loaded the Luger with the spare ammunition in his pocket as he ###### it and asked never taking his eyes from either his work or the door outside, "Are you a good actress?"

Elva raised her eyebrows at him. She didn't know what his plan was, and did not like it. But if his plan involved keeping her family safe, then she went along with it. Straightening up to stop her slouching, Elva looked straight into Hans' eyes. "I'm alright at it. Why do you ask?"

Hans watched as the patrol was drawing closer. "If they find out you've taken me in you'll be killed as well, along with your family and probubly the rest of the village, so.." He said as he glanced over at her and then quickly back to the outside. "I'm going to play the big-bad-german and you play a nice dramatic damsel in distress and hopefully that will convice them that i forced you to help me, clearing you of all charges." He turnned back to her finishing with "Now, whatever happens after that, i need you to leave to me. If you step in at any point they'll know you helped me, so whatever happens once we're seperated, dont step in."

Elva listened closely to what hans told her. She didn't quite understand some of it but she knew what she had to do. She nodded quickly and looked out the window. The army was coming closer. "Okay, I'll try my best!" she said nervously. Elva took a nervous glance back at her room, praying that her family was already far away and safe.
