Buffy and the gang drove through a surprisingly trendy and hip city, which was their next destination. Memories flooded Buffy's brain when she was popular and people respected her. She smiled, she was so fond of her friends she had now, but what if life were different...what if she just stayed at Hemry high as a popular girl. She could even be a celebrity. The city sparkled with so many pretty lights you barely realized that it was nighttime. She then remember what Angel said about how electricity lies. Buffy sighed. Even if it was a lie, it was a lie that felt good, and that's all Buffy wanted to do right now.
Okay, now Buffy was just getting all shallow and Cordelia-ish. But she couldn't help it. She wanted a little flighty fun, all this...prophecy s**t made her feel weighed down. Together, Buffy and her friends all got out of the car.
"Okay I know this seems a little... well, maybe not your guy's kinda thing but um, I was told...they were here you know. Vengeance demons. Demons come in all places, remember? Let's not get too..." Buffy suddenly saw the most gorgeous necklace in the entire universe inside a shop window. "Distracted."
"Hey there, sweetie? Can I help you with anything?"
To Buffy's horror and dismay she saw the face of none other than Glory. The woman's essence sent a shock throughout her body. Instinctively, she punched her in the face. "GUYS, OH MY ******** GOD- STAY BACK!"
"Wait? Didn't you kill her?" Angel asked, confused.

Giles was, unremarkably, silent.
His thoughts, however, abruptly shifted gear from the intricacies of werewolf territorialism to the moment when he saved Buffy from ever having to take a human life. One of the most terrible moments of his adult life, second only to watching his Slayer, his Buffy, leap off the tower.
His lip curled and his eyes filled with quiet, contained rage.

"You can't kill a God" Glory jeered. "You just freed me of my mortal bonds. It took a while... you know the mortal coil is interesting. But ultimately weak as hell. I thought I wanted to go back home. But the truth is, my home is well...gone."
"Because you killed everybody in it!" Giles scolded.
"Such is a God's power in her raw form, yes." Glory paused for a bit to look at her nails. "We have to reign it in. And it's hard you know, when you just have the urge to snap that pretty neck of yours!"
Willow threw a spell at Glory but it was ultimately ineffective.
"Aww, the little lesbo grew in power. That is SO adorable. But guess what! So have I." She charged after Willow, but Buffy swung on a lamp post and knocked her back into some trash cans, using her own power against her as that was the only thing she was really vulnerable against.
"She's right, Giles...it's like hitting something um...really hard. I can't deal with this right now. On top of everything else and..." Buffy cut herself off, there was no way in hell she would tell Glory the news about Dawn.
Glory sensed the weakness in Buffy's eyes. It was like a core of emptiness she just wanted to punch through with her bare fists. What a weak little b***h. "Oh honey! What's the matter? You can tell auntie Glory everything that's happened. If you just get on your knees first and beg me to not kill you."
Buffy punched Glory in the face. She knew it was useless though. She had to control her own anger. "I don't have time to deal with you."
"You could never stop me, could you?"
"Stopped ya once."
"You only stopped yourself."
"Well it also stopped you. Temporarily, it seems...but don't get too comfortable, okay? I always find a way."
"Again, I'm a God people. What part of immortal don't you retards understand. I'm not the kind of cheap, faux- immortality you're used to either. I'm the real thing, baby. A real God. Now I've known we've had our differences but that doesn't mean-"
"How many humans have you killed?" Buffy interrupted.
"A few, I still have the retain my sanity and all that s**t but it's less now because I'm more stronger than I was. But yeah... that must really be hard for you huh. Aww. Excuse me while I go get my violin and then drink your tears mixed in with your blood."
"Why am I doing this. Why am I actually having a CONVERSATION with you."
"Because that's all you CAN do. Now just accept it, sweetcheeks. But tell me, what's a dopey thing like you doing in a well, friggin' fabulous place like this!" Glory threw her hands up in the air. "Gay men you know, you really have to love them...SO much better than lesbians." Glory gave Willow a dirty look.
"You're just mad at her because she's the only person that's been able to hurt you" Buffy said angrily.
"And I could kill her in a blink. But I don't. What's up with that? You know Ben... you'd think once you'd get rid of him everything would be just peachy, but once you have that....that..." Glory snapped her fingers. "Come on, help me out here..."
"Humanity?" Buffy asked.
"Yeah that, thank you! Once you have the disease of humanity inside of you, I don't know if you ever really get over it. I guess I pity you, just a lil. I mean hello! I can be like SUCH a b***h." Glory laughed heartily.
Buffy sighed. "I can't believe I'm saying this, but Glory, you need to help us. We're looking for...a vengeance demon."

"Oh, have a wish eh. I wish I could read minds myself, so I could rip out all the other wishes in this world and steal all the useless hopes, dreams and ideals to decorate my new apartment."
"Not a mind reader, huh? You know Glory, you've just exposed a weakness we could use to ultimately ******** you over one day. Why do the bad guys always do this? Don't you know that overconfidence will only get you steamrolled?"
"Like I really care, considering that I've been under an actual steamroller a few times in my day. I know I'll be here, forever, no matter what. I could just go in another dimension but - " Glory sighed. "You know, this world isn't all that bad. Actually one of the better ones, maybe 'cause it's so damn balanced. I learned to accept what I got. Have you?"
Buffy refused to answer that. "Can you help us out or no?"
"Down the street to your right. A little ways you'll see a boutique shoppe. At least what looks like a boutique shoppe. Go in there and you shall find what you seek."
Buffy nodded. "If this is a trap and we all die.... Buffy paused. "I honestly don't care. Dying is better than...than this." Buffy was clearly peeved.
"Oh honey" Glory sighed. "Good luck" She gave a weird look to Buffy that weirdly resembled...empathy? "And nope, you're not gonna die, not yet anyway. And be thankful. Some of us don't have that luxury..." Glory said that line rather faint.
"You wanted me to kill-" But she was already gone, out of sight.

"Buffy, we should move out as soon as possible. The less those vampires corrupt Dawn, the easier our job will be," said Giles, feeling sick to his stomach at the thought.

((MERLIN'S BEARD!!!! that was alot in just a few hours of not being on..... okay here i go biggrin ))
Willow didn't say anything as they walked down the street. Her mind was filled with many thoughts, most of which she didnt know why she was thinking them. One thing was for sure though. The thoughts she was thinking were in her OWN head and no one elses this time. A little R&R was all she needed to collect herself after that extensive spell.
Glory's words ran through her brain. Lesbians.... She thought to herself about what that meant. She always thought of Tara as a special case and Kennedy was just her way back into the sane world. her "Kite String." She couldnt imagine herself actually loving Kennedy. Willow ran over some guys in her mind... Johnny Depp. Hot. Brad Pitt. Hot. Percy. Cute, with a nice butt. then her mind rested on Xander. Her heart skipped a beat. Was it possible? Could she really be thinking of him as more than just her best friend again? They had had that time in Junior year, and never really got to explore anything farther. She was with Oz. and yes, she did love him very much. But is it also possible that she could love Xander too? As more than a friend?
She came out of her daze when they came into view of the Boutique Shoppe. "This is it?" It was broken looking and kindof vacant except for a few stragglers.

Giles stared at the store a moment, looking vaguely disappointed. Cleaning his glasses and looking again didn't help. "I suppose so." he said in response to Willow's comment. Turning, he looked at her and noticed that she seemed unsettled. "Are you all right?"

"Right as rain!" Willow responded. She faked a smile and hoped that would do.
Looking back to the shop, which was very gross looking, Willow spoke to Buffy. "In. Wish. And out. Right?" ... when Buffy didn't answer, Willow continued. "Because I don't know if it would be a good idea to have Vamp Me back again. We all can imagine how that one went..." she shuddered.
"Okay... Lets get our wish on."

((just so you know, yes i did change my username, but i am still the same person in case that just became REALLY confusing for anyone. biggrin ))
Walking inside the boutique, there was a mist of pachouli in the air. "Oh, this Demon must have been around.... It smells like hippi's in here." Willow wrinkled her nose and shook her head. There was definately power in this place, so Glory wasnt lying about that. She could feel it. The only question now was....
Will this plan work?

He followed the girls, blinking as he stepped into the dimmer shop and his eyes adjusted.
