Nicias walked quietly to the arena as well. He had also entered the tournament, on the off chance that someone might have a legenary pokemon. He knew it was slim.
"We're gonna be so late!" Rubi exclaimed, hurrying inside, Tyran jogged at her side, and she looked down to make sure he was keeping up when she ran straight into Nicias. "Sorry!" She exclaimed.
"Didn't even feel it..." Nicias muttered and walked into the dome.
Rubi raised an eyebrow but went inside as well.

You wanna be the announcer or me? And who's going against whom?

"Welcome one and all to Golden Rod City's annual pokemon tournament!" The announcer cheered.
"We have a great line up of Trainers today ready and eager to strut their stuff! The winners will recieve a Golden Rod Tournament Trophy!" The crowd cheered.
"So without further ado let's welcome our first two trainers! Rubi from Goldnen Rod and Dale from Cherrygrove, the stage is all your's!"
Rubi and Dale hurried into the arena.
"The match is three on three." The ref called.
"Let's go Vulpix!" Dale called.
"Tyran! Let's go!" Rubi exclaimed.
"Begin the match!"
Just fifteen minutes laters and Rubi was the winner of the first round Match. Perin, her persian, purred happily at her side as they walked into the waiting room.

"Up next is Twi from Blackthorn City and Emily from Odale Town!"

"Up Next welcome Nicias from....Azealea town. Oh yes. He will be fighting Karly from Cinnabar Island." Rubi watched as Nicias slowly rose from the corner and walked out into the arena. Her head then turned to the television to watch.

"Don't cry when you lose!" Karly said.
"You will not even scratch my pokemon." Nicias said, his voice cold as steel.
Karly scoffed. "We'll see! Let's go Machoke!" The superpower pokemon appeared and flexed his muscles.
"Maaa!"
"Hmph....Goro, I choose you." Nicias said flatly, releasing a shiny Metagross.
Karly looked mildly suprised.
"I'll admit he looks cool. But My Machoke is the strongest pokemon here! I was the champion last year and I'm going to win this year as well!"
"Begin!"
"Machoke use Vital Throw!" Karly called.
"How pitiful. Goro use Zen Headbutt." Nicias said. The shiny metagross jumped into the air and his X began to glow. He plowed striaght into Machoke from above and smoke erupted from the force of the shockwaves. When the dust settled Goro was hovering over a shallow crater with a fainted Machoke inside.
Karly's, Rubi's, and the announcer's chins all hit the floor.
"Ah...I...um...." The announcer was at a loss for words. She shook her head.
"Do really want this to happen to all your pokemon?" Nicias asked.
Karly gulped. She was no match for this guy. She returned Machoke and turned to the Refferee.
"I resign. I'm done." She said.
"Uh...." The announcer blinked. "And just like that Nicias defeated our former champion!" She called and the crowd cheered.
Nicias returned his pokemon and walked back to his corner without a word.
"Uh..." Rubi breathed, trying to think of something to say. "Awsome match, man."
Nicias ignored her.

Several matches went by, each of the trainers displaying strength and skill. As Nicias watched he began to get dissappointed. None of these trainers possesed a legendary being, and they wouldn't be powerful enough to control it if they did.
'Maybe I should just leave..." He muttered quietly to himself
"Up next please welcome back Nicias and Rubi!" The crowd cheered.
Rubi stood and glanced at Nicias. "I'm not going to quit just becuase you're strong." She said. "Let's rock the stage."
"What I seek is not here. There is no point in me staying." Nicias replied. "Even the challengers aren't worth my time."
Rubi crossed her arms.
"We'll see about that." She said and walked into the arena.Nicias reluctantly followed, merely becuase the girl peaked his intrest.
"Fross, Let's go!" Rubi caled, releasing her beloved Froslass.
"Rex, come on out." Nicias replied.
In the flash on red light, a large Tyranitar appeared.Why the heck would he choose a Ground type to fight my Fross? Rubi wandered.
"Begin!"
"Go Fross use Ice beam!" Rubi called. Fross unleashed a fast and powerfull icebeam headed straight for Nicias' Tyranitar, who stood unmoving."Dodge." Nicias ordered simply and Tyranitar moved his head to the left at the last second and the ice beam soared past.
"No way!" Rubi exclaimed. How could a Tyranitar move so fast!? But....now that she got a good look....Neither Tyranitar OR his trainer seemed normal...and Nicias' eyes....
"Now use Stone Edge." Nicias said and Tyranitar raced forward.
"Dodge Fross!" Rubi called. But as Froslass began to get out of the way, Tyranitar swung his tail around and attacked. Rubi jumped. How could this kid be so strong?
"Fross use Blizzard! Fill the arena!"
"Fire fang." Nicias ordered and before the blizzard reached full strength Tyranitar attacked, sinking burning hot fangs into Fross who fainted.
Rubi's last two pokemon ended the upsame way. Tyran and Perin were both defeated, and Nicias never once changed his pokemon. Rubi blinked to hold back tears then smiled at Nicias.
"You're incredibly strong dude. I'm not all that upset that I lost. Great match...."
"Yeah. Atleast you lasted longer than the others..." He said. It was clearly an insult but Rubi paid no mind. Thye both walked back to the waiting room.

Rubi watched the screen in the waiting room as she nursed a tired Tyrogue in her arms. Out of the corner of her eyes she spotted Nicias in his corner watching the screen as well. Nicias' lips moved silently but Rubi was gifted with a talent of reading lips.
"Chaos..."
Rubi's eyes widened. Was Nicias planning on battling him?
Nicias got the feeling he was being watched and his golden eyes looked to Rubi who jumped and looked away.

Nicias actually grinned, but it was seething. He stood and walked into the arena.
"You have no legendaries....But this should be fun." He grabbed a pokeball.
"Nyte... Let's go." He threw his pokeball into the air and a Dusknoir appeared.
"Duuuuussssskkk...." He cried and the face on his stomach opened his mouth.
