@UN: Sounds like we have a lot of things in common then, except that instead of failing out I had to deal with a mental break down and my over bearing parents who were crazy and ruthless in goading me to succeed.
I'm guessing you're not 25 either. Which is good.

I don't like it either. I feel like such an old fart...
And yeah, part of the reason I can articulate these things is that:
A) I was a former English literature & writing program major at Northwestern University
B) I've had speech problems, like studdering and a slight lisp that occasionally pops up that I have had to work on
C) After my variously numbered hospitalizations and varied life experiences, I've had to learn how to explain things so that people don't think I'm crazy. I'm pretty sure that I could work as a police negotiator or foreign diplomat after some of the things I've had to diffuse/explain.
So yeah... not strange at all either...
Young 'uns are people too... sometimes sexy people at that...
As a society we tend to label things as taboo, and there are reasons we do that in general. It doesn't mean there aren't exceptions to the rule -- especially if both parties are determined to make it work. It's just usually a good idea to keep your eyes on the prize and examine what you're doing every step of the way.
And it's good to be a caveman every now and then! What are we, racist car insurance?
