Yes, except that his brain had to previously tell his body what to listen for, and what to do when it herd it. So he really did choose to push the button.

Actually, he didn't. You see, his brain didn't do anything at all. His body moved before his brain had decided what to do. That's no even a reflex or an impulse, because they all require the brain to tell them what to do. In this case, his body moved before his brain told him to. As in, he moved independently of his own will.

But his brain still had to comprehend and process, an indefinate amount of time before hand, what it was suppose to do if and when it herd this sound and notify his reflexes that that was the overridind order, so to speak. do you honestly think that if he had been given no instructions that he would go into a room and push a button instinctively?
