Hyzenthlay That's true.
It would be weird without two main characters like that.
Thought the NPC thing could work. yes, we may have to resort to that since i don't think we'll be getting any more others anytime soon.

I don't mind RPing Naruto. I"ll be him for a while until someone else comes along and takes him from me.
I'll also remain as Ino... need to make sure Temari doesn't get free game on Shika. domokun

okay! this role-play has been on hold MUCH too long. i say it's time to make a start! >0
//---// That night, Hatake Kakashi, age 31, returned from a mission that, naturally, did not meet his usual expectations. On his journey home from delivering confirmed affiliation terms documents to the Waterfall Village, he encountered a group of 'Waterfall' ninja who had ambushed him. After defeating them with, likewise, not a very hard effort, he discovered their true identities as Sound ninja who were obviously trying to frame the Waterfall Village. Atleast, that intention was obvious to Kakashi at the time.
After reporting to Tsunade upon his immediate return, he headed home to his lone apartment and instantly prepared himself for sleep. For some odd reason, he was exceptionally tired that night; although, it was slightly understandable considering his own fault on not getting much rest lately due to all the missions he's been sent on lately corresponding to the war that was slowly building up.
The very next day, Kakashi expected to be just like every other day thus far: Wake up; Eat breakfast; Go receive mission; Complete mission; Go visit the bookstore (if there's enough time); Eat dinner (sometimes); Read (maybe); Go to sleep (possibly). It had been just like that every day for as long as he could remember - more specifically since the war really began. But that one very single instantaneous moment he stepped (or, more or less crawled) out of bed, he knew something about that day was going to be different. Very very different. Infact, he could not even comprehend why he was so close to the floor. But, no matter what, when he attempted to stand... for some reason, he found himself unable to do so. Utterly puzzled, he looked up and realized something else that was very different. All the colors in his room were all switched around and odd. Kakashi's first guess was that this was some dream of his, but he was much too smart for that. Looking back down at the floor and then further down, two fuzzy paws stared right back up at him. That was all Kakashi needed to finally understand the situation. Kakashi had turned into an animal - more specifically, a dog. He turned into a ******** dog. He had no clue as to how, when, or why it happened but all he did know was that this had to be one of the most sincere, if not ridiculous situations he's ever encountered. But then it hit him... an encounter...
'Well, s**t.' Kakashi thought as his mind suddenly turned back to the encounter he had with the Sound-nin. It was them who did it... they must have stuck something on him during the fight, or secretly performed some odd jutsu while he wasn't paying attention. He figured it was probably the former, though, because he couldn't recall any time where he had actually been out of focus of any one of them.
Pushing those thoughts to the back of his mind, his first priority was to be the most self-conscious of himself for the one and only time in his life and go look in the mirror to see how bad the transformation really was. So, after hurriedly making his way into his bathroom, he pushed the door open and padded over to the counter which he jumped up on to reach the mirror. After standing infront of the mirror for a good three minutes examining himself, he finally decided that it could have been worse. Much, much worse. His body remained a pretty nice build; His fur wasn't too short or too long and was made up of a few different patches of color (His head was grey, with white on the jaw going down his chest and underbelly and all the way down to his tail, while the rest of his body was mostly grey with some patches of brown); and he had a nice medium-sized furry tail. Overall, he looked somewhat like a scruffy mutt, but he didn't really care.
His next and most-feared task was to take a journey to Tsunade's office and ask her advice on fixing this little... issue. He was already prepared for the hysteria she was bound to give him, but what he was most worried about was this incident of his being let out. If the rest of the village found out about this, he'd no doubt be the laughing stock for years... maybe ages... it would become a legend. Kakashi shivered at this thought and wished throughout all his knowledge that there was some other way, but unfortunately there wasn't. Tsunade was the best (professionally) medical-ninja he knew, and the only real one in the village so there really were no other options for him. He would have to learn to face the embarrassment eventually.

"EEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
The Yamanaka household, along with the surrounding neighborhood, was woken in an extremly strange way this morning. Inochi flew to the ceiling practicly though the roof while his wife reached for the kunai her husband slept with under his pillow.
Back down the hall in the bedroom tinted purple, Ino Yamanaka stood leaning in front of the mirror staring at herself. She placed a paw against her face and examined, with shock, at her new look. Her jaw hung open as she gently stroked her once long golden locks of hair... only now, replaced by a dense grey-frosted fur. It was short, and slightly prickly to the touch. Her eyes were beady and black and her perplextion... well, let's just say it wasn't beauty pagent material.
"Haruno!"
Ino screeched into the morning believing her arch rival, Sakura Haruno, caused this disfiguation with a medical jutsu. Ino moved from the mirror trying to make a dash to her parent's bedrooms, only to fall onto all fours. She wanted to cry. She wanted to kill. She wanted to know why she looked like some ground dwelling creature who was usualy covered in fleas.
She headed for her parent's bedroom and passed a reflective vase standing on the floor. She gazed at herself and relized she looked nothing like...herself.
My parent's wont reconize me. They might try to kill me. What can I do? ... Tsunade-sama, she's a med-nin. She'll be able to fix this mess Sakura caused.
Ino gulped, not wanting to go in public like this. But having no choice, she left her house and ran into the empty street heading for Tsunade's.

((YAY it's starting! I'd practically given up hope! XP ))
The sun shown brightly through the window of Haruno Sakura's bedroom. The 17 year-old strecthed sleeply under her light pink sheets before opening her eyes. Normally she'd have gotten up much early because of the extra work she'd plowed on at the hospital to pay for her new apartment, but today was her first day off in a month. She was definitely sleeping in.
Sakura was about to turn over and snuggle back into her pillow for another hour's sleep when she happened to peer at the mirror across her room. Bright red caught her eye. Was there something in the bed with her? Naturally she panicked, as one is likely to do when they believe a strange something is sleeping with them. She leapt from her bed, searching the covers frantically for what she'd seen. That's when she noticed... Those weren't her normal hands... In fact, they weren't hands at all!
"Oh my Gods," the poor girl shouted at the top of her lungs, "What the hell is going on here?!"
She scampered over to the mirror to take a good long look at herself. Sleek red fur, white muzzle, black ears and paws, and a bushy tail. Only her bright jade eyes and a bit of pink on her cheeks gave any indication of her true identity. She stared in horror... well not absolute horror. She was a rather cute fox. But anyways, how did this crazy situation come about?
"NARUTO!" It had to be him. He was probably sitting in his apartment snickering at this very moment. "He thinks he's clever, does he? I'll show him! After this gets fixed, not even running to Snow country will save his sorry a**."
With that somewhat encouraging statement, Sakura headed off to see Tsunade-shishou. Since she didn't know what was going on, maybe the hokage would.

Ino kept close to the bushes and trees while trying to hide herself. She didn't see anyone on the street except for a dig about a mile or two ahead of her. She continued to watch over her supposid shoulder trying to get to Tsunade's place quickly.
Then, ruffling noise made her jump. She dove into the bushes and peeked through the leaves as a small red fox walked by her un aware of her hiding place. Holding her breath, Ino studied the fox.
A bit strnage for random wild animals to be walking the Konoha streets this early.
That's when she noticed. The fox had pink fur on it's cheeks. The pink looked familar.
No... it coulnd't be?
"Sakura....?" (whispered)

'Oh, no... no, no, no... I don't believe this.' The boy from the Nara clan contradicted himself as his unusually tiny beady black eyes stared shockingly down at his similarly unusually tiny body covered completely in long brown spikes.
He was still thankfully situated on top of his normal bed in his normal bedroom inside of his hopefully normal house, but that meant nothing to him in comparison to his new look.
As he slowly tried to get himself down from his bed, he ended up toppling over due to the new height change. His new reflexes caused his body to contract and curl into a ball and unintentionally sent him rolling across the room until he finally made contact with the wall.
After a few minutes once Shikamaru had finally reformed himself, he uncurled and immediately headed for the door. He did not need a mirror to realize what he had become or how bad it looked. He needed Tsunade. He needed to get this fixed A.S.A.P.

Trodding cautiously down the village's main streets, Kakashi could not help but notice that since his leave from his house, he had not noticed one single person out on the streets that morning. Of course, it was still rather early but, like himself, there were always atleast a few people who liked to be up before everyone else in order to beat the crowd.
That was not the only thing he'd noticed, though. He did not know if it was some sort of dog thing or not, but he did manage to notice quite a fair bit of stray animals around the streets aswell. He had seen a pig, two goats, a couple chickens, several birds, and even a deer! He had never seen a deer in the village his whole life. To see one now all of a sudden, he was in no doubt that something fishy was definitely going on around the town.

The morning light was barely showing over the hokage monument as Sakura trotted down the street. She wasn't even bothering to conceal herself, since it seemed like no normal human beings were out in the whole village. Was it some sort of holiday that she'd forgotten about? She must of missed the memo, so she reminded herself to check the answering machine as soon as everything was normal.
As Sakura continued making her way to where Tsunade would surely be avoiding her usual duties, she could have sworn a whisper came from a random road-side bush. An image of Ino popped into her head, but didn't form a coherent thought. Peering around suspiciously, she quickened her pace, noticing an increasing amount of unusual animals along the way. In fact, it appeared as though there was practically a throng of such animals moving towards the hokage tower. How very interesting. Apparently she wasn't being very intelligent today.
Speeding up to nearly a run, Sakura the fox swished her tail impatiently. Was it just an illusion created by her decrease in size, or was it taking longer than usually to get anywhere? As she thought this, an adorable little mutt of a dog caught her eye. It was obviously a stray, at least to Sakura's jade eyes.
The full extent of the situtaion still not hitting her, she padded up to him, smiling as gleefully as she could for being an woodland creature.

So many animals were continuously appearing on the streets that Kakashi had reached the point of actually counting every one he saw. Soon enough, Kakashi believed he was beginning to get a pretty good idea on what he figured to be going on. It didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that all (or most) of the villagers had some way or another transformed into creatures. The biggest concern Kakashi had at that very moment was how it happened and how they were supposed to fix it.
Kakashi's train of thought was forced to a halt, however, when he noticed a random fox approaching him. Turning to face the fox directly, Kakashi immediately assumed that it must have realized the situation aswell. He did not know who the person behind the creature was exactly, but he could sense their familiar chakra and by that knew that it was atleast a ninja whom he was acquainted with. He had a pretty good idea.
"Let me guess... Naruto?" He questioned the fox.

Sakura stared in horror as the dog spoke to her. Finally it was dawning on her that most of these animals she'd been seeing, must be other villagers. But, even worse than that, she had just been accused of being Naruto. This definitely wasn't a bright start of a day, but at least she realized who this mutt actually was.
"Kakashi-sensei," she chided, "Nice try, but I think your observation skills are waning in your OLD age."
She couldn't bring herself to fully yell at her former teacher, for only seconds ago she'd believed him to be an adorable stray puppy. Chastising herself inwardly for still thinking that if he wasn't human she'd want him as a pet, she continued the conversation. "Are you going to find Tsunade-shishou as well?"

Ah, so the fox was indeed Sakura. Kakashi secretly knew the truth all along. Or atleast he would pretend he did. How dare she accuse him of losing his observation abilities.
"Yes." Kakashi admitted simply. He then turned around and continued walking on; at a slightly more slower pace, though, with the indication that Sakura was free to join him if she wished. His original preference was being able to make it all the way to the Hokage's office without many (or any) distractions along the way, but now that the damage has already been done he did not want to be rude. He was atleast thankful in the standpoint that he wasn't the only one in this situation. Actually, he was pretty eager to see what creature Tsunade had become.

Why was he so infuriatingly calm? Sakura couldn't help but glare angrily at the back of his furry head. She wasn't one to hurt creatures on purpose, but at the moment she'd have kicked him. At least he wasn't being too rude. Catching up to her teacher, she began analyzing the current events and wondering what all her friends had become. Ino would undoubtably be a pig, (in Sakura's mind), that much was obvious, though the others might be harder to pinpoint.
"I bet Shikamaru's a sloth," she stated absent-mindedly, "Or perhaps a cat. They sleep a lot. Hmmm, I wonder where Ino is. Maybe she's looking for him and Chouji. Probably not though, since she has at least half enough brains to go see the Hokage."
Sakura continued pattering along beside Kakashi, grateful that being with someone made it look as though she wasn't babbling to herself. She could probably talk about anything under the sun and he'd ignore it. That was fine by her, however, since nothing constructive was coming out of her mouth anyway. She was betting Kakashii was already regreting her company
