For Piri: I'll add that right away... It sounds like a good name, but you also inadvertently made a Simpsons reference, so it's a double whammy.

A Simpsons reference?!? Really?!? Wow...I can't remember that...it's been a lo-ong time since I've seen the Simpsons. That hamster was a class hamster back when the Simpsons first came out.
I still can't remember the name I was gonna give that one hamster...I keep thinking Ken-Ohki.
I forgot, that book got destroyed by a milkshake, so I don't think I can help with sexing. I can't recall whether or not it's easy to tell on a hamster...of the rats, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice, gerbils, and bunnies that we learned about, some were difficult to tell and some weren't. Although I think Bele's right and it's obvious with hamsters.
