MemoryDragon Ha! I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one! A lot of shounen-ai doesn't seem to have much of a plot... which annoys me. But as long as there is a good plot, I don't care what the romance is. In fact, I'm usually not much for romance... stare (is aware she is saying this in a guild for a manga-ka who is huge on romance... sweatdrop ) It's been awhile since I rambled and made everyone fall asleep so here ya go: I'm with you. I'm not too into romance in anime or books..just because I'm really anti-cliche (if romance in a story is too cheesey I get mad and make rude comments at the TV/book). But that doesn't mean I'm totally against it or anything. I'm okay with romance, whether it's shounen/shoujo-ai or boy+girl, as long as it's brought about in an artistic or at least realistic way. Which is why I'm scared by certain fanfics..especially Harry Potter and InuYasha ones. There are a select few which are well written and have a good plot but most are just sloppy with ridiculous pairings.

Finally! Someone with the same view on romance as me!
Heh, I write a lot of my fanfics with the purpose of proving things can work out without any romantic hints. And I never do that silly 'love at first sight' thing unless it really fits the character. Which is very rare for me. sweatdrop In all of my original stuff it takes me forever to work up to romance. I let things develope over time.
Nothing against romance and all, but it's so over-rated at times... Not to mention over-used and clichéd. But it's all good as long as it's not over kill.

It's an idea or stereotype that shows up really often. It's supposed to be unique, but it's used so often that it's not.

Actually, volume 15 of Nana just came out on Wednesday. biggrin The sequel to the Nana movie is in the works right now, too. I don't really think Shouji is that bad. I was really mad the first time I read that chapter, but after rereading it, I really don't think it was his fault. Hachi kind of brought it on herself. She was pretty selfish. Anyway, Shouji and Sachiko are a better couple, and Hachi will find her true love in time. heart

I haven't seen Howl's Moving Castle...I plan on buying it when I have the money.
Movies: Amelie, The Virgin Suicides, A very Long Engagement...it seems that most of the movies I like no one has ever seen before....
TV Shows: I don't really watch TV, but my favorite shojo anime has to be Full Moon, hands down.
