Hi my name is Brooke and I will be 16 in march. I joined because I love feeling that I'm not so alone. I don't know what most of my disorders are because my mom has not gotten much help for me. I know I'm schizophrenic, have minor bi-polar, and some social disorders that affect my self-esteem. I only tried suicide once and I'm still struggling to stop cutting. If my mom notices that I'm doing this or something else that doesn't seem normal I am merely punished and she pretends nothing ever happened after that. We've never talked about my problems or my cutting. My mom is depressed and takes Celexa and my dad is major bi-polar. I fight very hard to keep things under control but they tend to spin out of control anyway. I have very good friends that help me though and the most wonderful boyfriend to help me out.

Hi. My name is Caitlyn Eve, and I have obsessive/compulsive disorder, minor depression, and anxiety disorder. I'm not currently taking any medication, and have not been prescibed any for that reason. I'm very shy at times, but once I warm up to someone it doesn't bother me because I feel like I know and trust them a lot. I observe and listen a lot, so I know a lot more than most peole who know me know. My condition is starting to get better. Anxiety isn't as much as a problem now - I no longer get pains in my stomach so bad I can barely move. It only gets slightly queasy at times now. I've been working hard on trying to fix my other problems. Life is a lot better now. ^_^ I've found more friends who won't be mean to me or stab me in the back. They're really nice and cool. I think I've finally found where I belong at my school. I have never been to a mental hospital, cut myself on purpose, or tried to comit suicide. I have, however, been to a therapist. He's very nice, and I call him Dr. Z, after the guy on the 'ZoomZoom!' commercial (or whatever it is), because his last name starts with a z. I don't go often now, only when it's really needed. Thankfully, I don't need to go as much any more. I tend to put up a defensive 'shield' against others, but I'm good at telling if I can trust someone once i meet them. I dislike people who judge others upon physical characteristics. My mom can be like that, and I HATE IT when she does that. I HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT! stressed It drives me nuts. (I don't like the word 'hate.' I prefer to use dislike (hate is a strong word), but I thought it would be appropriate in this situation. Another thing I dislike is not being able to do the right thing, and I also dislike insensitive people, and people who think more highly of themselves than others. I try to work to control my anger and pride contantly, but anger clouds my mind a lot. That's another thing I'm working on.
People often come to me with problems. I usually can help them solve them, and I want to be there for others like others have done to me so far. Feel free to ask me about stuff like that - But i'm not allways online. Sometimes my schedule is really unpredictable - I can be on every day or once in a week or even a couple months. So please don't get depressed if I don't PM back right away. Okay? -CaitlynEve heart

Hi. This is the first guild I have joined. When I found this guild and read what others have written, I finally didn't feel so alone anymore.
Anyway, my name is Carrie or Sparky and I am 35. I have multiple diagnoses. I have multiple personalities or dissociative identity disorder (DID), major depression with psychotic features, post traumatic stress disorder, borderline personality disorder and have just recently started developing anxiety and panic attacks. I was just diagnosed in 2005 with all of this. It has been quite overwhelming to say the least. I have been in and out of hospitals since my diagnosis, but went almost 1 year without. In March 2008, I went into the hospital to go off of my meds. This was very successful and now I am only on an anti-depressant. Lately, I have been taking Haldol and Xanax to control my anxiety and panic attacks. I see a therapist 3x's a week and a psychiatrist every 2 weeks.
I am very social, but this has pretty much crippled me in the last 3 years. I love to help people so if anyone needs any help, I sure will try. I am online quite a bit and will try to check in a few times a week just to say HI. I love reading and all differents kinds of art (as you can see by my signature). You can also PM me anytime and I will answer as soon as I can.
I am married and have 2 children, and we are closer now than we ever were before. I am so lucky because I have the support of not just my family, but also my husbands, although sometimes the help is worse. I try to be as honest with everyone as I can be and am slowly getting better.
I have babbled on long enough now, so I will sign off and talk to everyone later!

Well, I'm Melanie, or Lynxie, or whatever you happen to prefer. I'm 20, and I am a multiple diagnosis. Most of them are anxiety disorders such as PTSD and GAD. *shrugs* I think the easiest of my disorders to pick out of the crowd are clinical depression and Borderline Personality Disorder. I am fortunate in that I was able to find out all of this through my school's medical services; highly unfortunate in that I had to do it on my own because my parents refuse to believe that there could possibly be anything wrong with me. Any questions, feel free to ask.

Hi Carrie, welcome to the group...I've been here a few months now and find it's a cool place to be when you need help or to help others...I have all the same disorders as you plus Bi-Polar so it gets a bit hectic at times but we all try to be supportive here...I'll cya around!
PS. I'm 39 with 2 teenage girls...no hubby...I was diagnosed at 28 and am glad I have only been hospitalized once when I was a teen...I hate hospitals, fear them even and finally am on meds that are working for me...that really helps a lot!
