((Okay, here we go. >< This can sorta be an example post...thing. xd I guess you can say that my pet Avani is going to be our guinea pig. ^^ By tracing her she will give you an idea of how the entrance-into-keepdom works. Of course, the path of every kimera is different....))

As Avani stepped out of the narrow passage through the trees and ruins, her eyes grew wide as she gazed upon the great keep. It was so big, and so busy. Avani could only find herself in awe of this great, functioning 'pack.' The little serpopard just stood there for a moment, not really sure where to begin looking for the Goddess. Finally, a serpopard healer noticed Avani in the mists of her uncertainty. The kind-hearted kimera walked up to her and asked Avani, "Are you okay, deary?" Avani snapped out of her daze that her shell-shocked amazement had pushed her into. Avani nodded quickly, now feeling somewhat embarrassed for standing there like an airhead. The healer grinned and pointed towards the building off in the distance as she said, "You should find here around there. She is usually around during this time of day. Be even if she is out and about, a knight can further guide you." Avani smiled and thanked her with winged words. With that she dashed off towards the building, trying to stay out of the way and dodge as many unfamiliar kimera as possible.

When Avani finally reached the entrance into the transformed mall, she noticed that two knights in brilliant red armor stood on either side of the door way. They eyed her as they passed through, but did not say anything. When Avani first stepped in she could hear the sound of a trickling fountain with sat in the middle of the indoor space. The walls were white, as well as the slightly cracked tile that covered the floor. There was a small crowd of other kimera who stood around the fountain. Their small chatter amongst one another filled the room as their emotions filled the air. Some seemed anxious while others excited. There were even some that seemed just plain nervous as they fidgeted where they stood. Avani was not sure how to feel. Probably more excited than anything. She peeked through the crowd to see what it was that they were gathering around. It was then that Avani suddenly found herself gazing upon the great goddess herself. Sarlost stood near the fountain, cheer dancing in her eyes. The goddess was gazing upon a adolescent arnulf. They seemed to be communicating, but neither one of them spoke. Avani studied them a bit, somewhat perplexed. When it seemed that the conversation had ended the arnulf leap into the air and flew out threw the broken window in the ceiling, a broad grin spreading across his face. As he left all the kimera fell silent so that all could be heard was the trickle of the water. Sarlost looked about her, her gaze looking upon the faces of the others who awaited to see if they were fit to join her. Finally she said aloud, "So, who would like to go next?"

This is how Sarlost now gathered fallowers. In the morning, Sarlost flew about running the keep making sure everything was running smoothly and that her assistance was not needed. By the time the afternoon sun was at mid point in the sky, she would wait here by this fountain and those who wished to speak with her would meet here. Only those with hearts and minds that were in the right place would be allowed to join this great keep.

Xia emergerged from a narrow opening, really he was just poking around, but he had never expected to find somthing like this. He stopped, his eyes moving around coucouly to see if any of the kimera of the keep had spotted him, and from the lack of intrest from the keep, he guessed that was, in fact the case. Amd thus, Xia dissapered into the trees, and began running parralell to the path, just out of sight.

An orange hesibune had stepped out from the narrow opening. He looked around, his eyes full of curiousity. He had heard some kimera speaking of a great being named Sarolst and had them until he had lost track of them thanks to his weak sense of smell, but he knew he was getting close now. "I want to see this being. I want to see her," he whispered as he felt himself shake with excitement. Now, the kimera said something about a building and those human creatures being about.

After some time of searching and getting lost he finally found, or what he believed to be, where he was trying to find. He scampered through the door and looked about, seeing many kimera, ones he had never seen before. Now... where was Sarolst? His eyes grew as he spotted her. "Wow...."

(( hope that was okay. n.n ))

Kometto walk into the camp of Sarlost. He looked around at all of the other kimera. He was so excited, he had heard so much about Sarlost and what she wanted to do. And at a young age he made up his mind to became one of her followers. He held up his head with pride, and went to ask one of the Kimera where he can find Sarlost. With a nod of thanks, went to where the Kimera said. He nodded to th etwo guard, as he walked in. His ears heard the sound of fountain, and sound from the other Kimera that were there. Then he saw Sarlost next to the fountain. This is it, he thought with excitment.

((Yay! Okay, so I'm going to keep using Avani as an example, but I will be sure that each of your pets interact with someone in my post. ^^ ))

Everyone waited and watched the goddess silently, waiting to see which mind she would choose to speak to and whose heart she shall test next. Avani waited silently amongst them, hoping that Sarlost would talk to her next, that Avani could prove to Sarlost that she would be a loyal follower. Sarlost closed her eyes, like she was feeling from something. This is how she determined who was next in line. She would wait and feel for which kimera's emotions seemed to stand out amongst the others the most. At the moment, she felt a strong pulse of hopefulness and determination that stood out from the excitement and nervousness. Sarlost opened her eyes and glanced off to Avani. At that moment Avani heard a calm, soothing voice in her mind.
So you hope to become a member of the keep, my dear? the voiced asked.
Avani was somewhat surprised, but quickly realized that this was Sarlost speaking to her. Thrilled, she thought her words back to her, Yes. I've been wanting to join you for a long time, now.
The goddess gave a soft, almost hidden grin before asking calmly, And why is that? Do tell me, why is it that you wish to join me in the fight for peace, for it is not an easy challenge to take on. The goddess golden eyes showed great patience and warmth as she waited kindly for Avani's reply.
B-Because that challenge is something I'm willing to take. I want to see our world have peace...I'm tired of watching my friends, or any other kimera, fight one another and get hurt. I want to make it stop in any way I can. Avani waited to see if the goddess felt that these words proved that she would, no, could join these great goddess and follower her for the same dream.
Sarlost now beamed. These words were enough, at least to get by the first test. But Sarlost was almost certain she this one would pass the other tests with flying colors. Finally the goddess asked, What's your name? The goddess looked at her with curiosity glimmering in her eyes.
Avani, the little serpopard answered simply, a twist of nervousness and excitement building up in her belly.
Congratulations Avani, the goddess said with glee, You've passed to first test to joining the members of this keep. All you have to do know is decide what role you wish to fill and then pass the test for that. But don't worry, I'm sure you'll do fine. If you need more information, you may ask one of the guards that you saw as you entered the Tower. They'll help you.
Avani blinking, taking a moment to sink this all in. Finally she let out great nod as a smile spread across her face. Th-Thank you very much, Sarlost! With that Avani turned around and began weaving her wait out of the crowd, occasionally murmuring a little 'sorry' whenever she bumped into someone.

Before Avani could get completely out, however, she bumped into Kometto. "Oh, sorry," she apologized politely. Avani had a delayed reaction before she realized that she recognized the griffin. She glanced back at him before she realized who it was. "Oh, hi Kometto," she exclaimed cheerfully, "What brings you here?"

As Sarlost watched Avani leave she began looking around to see who she shall test next. It was then that one kimera caught her eye. It was a little orange hebisune who looked far to young to be out on his own. She wondered if he was lost and had wandered into the keep by accident. Rather than risk scaring him by using her mind to speak with him, she spoke to him directly, saying "And what brings you in here, little one?" Her eyes were gentle as she gazed on the little one and the kimera standing around Zeroun soon looked to him with puzzled expressions on their faces. What was a child so young doing here?

Xia was not the only one hiding in the trees. In fact, a pair of gray-blue eyes were watching him at that very moment. It was Shyam, one of the Leading Four of Sarlost. He watched as the serpopard moved swiftly through the trees of the ruins. This was an amazing feat to do without training. Shyam had to admit, he was impressed. He weaved down from the trees with his sleek snake-like body. One the last branch he leap and landed silently before Xia on his soft paws. He flicked his fluffy tail and waited to see how the serpopard would react to his sudden appearance. The hebisune said nothing. Shyam was not sure if this serpopard was just a kimera that had yet to be passed by Sarlost, or if he was a spy for Syn.

((Sorry...That was sorta.....bad...I'm actually not sure if that was bad or not. My mind is shutting of thanks to finals and I feel like I wrote that badly....But I don't know....@_@ Well, if you thought that was bad, I'm sorry about that. sweatdrop ))

Xia Pressed his heels to the ground, skidding to a halt. He wasn't quite sure whether the kimera in front of him was angry or not. The seporpard simply turned his head away, for there wasn't much of a way for them to comunicate. At this point, Xia's minion, Scree, came running up behind him, and sat near his leg.

Shyam's eyes narrowed slightly as he looked over the serpopard. His muscles tensed slightly as he began a slight pang of suspicion. "Tell me, who are you?" the hebisune asked in a demanding, but hushed voice, "What brings you to Sarlost's Keep?"

Xia sighed. Why does he have to talk?, he thought Why can't he just take me prisoner?. He shook his head and sighed again. Unless there was some way for them to communicate he would probably be considered a spy for Syn.

(( You were perfectly fine, Faunia. XD )

Zeroun's eyes widened in surprise. He hadn't expected to get her attention so easily. This was great! "I came because I heard about a really great kimera that was different form other ones and now I found you! I've been looking everywhere," he explained He smiled and began to make his way closer. "You're really cool looking!"

((Um...I'm a little confused as to how to have Sarlost react to Zeroun now that he started this part of the role play as a child and is now a teenager. sweatdrop ))

Sarlost blinked, somewhat surprised by the young kimera's energy. Even though she had not directly focused on him his excitement was overwhelming as it pulsed through her mind. He really was excited. Sarlost gave a sweet smile and said, "Thank you little one. You're a very interesting little kimera as well." Sarlost cocked her majestic head and with her smooth, motherly eyes filled with curiosity, she asked, "What's your name, little one?"

Shyam waited patiently for a reply, standing before the serpopard as cold and stiff as stone. The only thing that moved was his fluffy fox tail which began to twitch as his inpatients grew. Behind his narrowed lids his sharp gray-blue eyes gazed at the other with a powerful gaze. He disregarded the shook head as a reply. He would not take no for an answer. Shyam held his gaze, trying to see if he could force the other to speak. When the other still said nothing he finally let out a soft sigh and asked in a hissed tone, "Why is it that you don't answer my questions? I promise not to hurt you as long as you don't resist."

Xia turned his head to look at Shyam. He closed his eyes for a long moment, and finaly just opened his mouth to reaveal the lack of a tounge. He slowly closed his mouth and raised his head, waitig for the other's response.

(( He's still a child. n.n He'll be that way roleplay wise here. ))

"Zeroun is my name," he answered and continued to look up at the other curiously. " I think my parents named me that or something before they went away. I dun know..."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 19, 2007 7:35 pm

((-reads posts and is bricked- @_@ The way Zeroun said that made me sad...I don't know why...He just said it so straight out and and then had the little '...' and it made me sad. gonk How am I suppose to reply to that? Geh...What would Sarlost do? ............. -sigh- ))

Sarlost blinked as she listened to the child. His emotions had changed and had become more unreadable. Sarlost was not sure how to react to what he had said, for she was unsure of what he had meant. With her mind, she asked, What do you mean when you say 'went away'? Did you go looking for them here, or were you too young to remember? Or would you rather not tell me?

***

Shyam looked into the mouth for a moment before the puzzle piece clicked. It's not that he refused to speak, it's that he couldn't...Finally Shyman replied in his normal, emotionless, soft voice, "So you can't talk, hm?" Shyam muscles were still tense. Although the others silence had been explained he still could be an enemy. One could never bee too careful.

Xia nodded, of course he couldn't talk, he had no tounge. He had noticed the sudden tonelessness of the other kimera's voice, wonder what had caused the sudden change. And now he waited for the other Kimera's reply.
