Aeridea We first need to decide on a symbol. From what I understand, we were going to use the triangle and circle one, or the star one. Actually , a name might be more important xd Seriously, Last time I checked we had no official name.

Smithwillsuffice... Sounds good. But I feel further elaboration is needed for the whole 'mass recruitment' issue. Exactly how could it be tied in with image/rep building? To start we need around a thousand (if not a few thousand) members, which we'll get from the various forums. After that we can use word of mouth too; have everyone try to mention something in conversation about how you read an article on some site you don't remember about Dark Star. And make sure to include something about giving vast power to members. Or at least just make it an interesting conversation piece so the rumors will spread.
While the rumors spread we'll need to make sure to keep active on forums (continue recruiting that way too) so people can follow a trail to our site pretty easily (did I mention we'll need a website?). The site's front page can't be anything big either (no flaming skull gifs or poorly cropped images with scary midi's playing in the background). It'll just be a security page or something. Have it say something about registered IP's only and then below that something that says, "If you feel you have something to offer, contact our recruiting agents at *email address* ". Maybe if we could get our name mentioned in some smaller blogs it'd help too.
After we get a more significant number of people (+10,000) then we start actually targeting recruits for power and let everything go from there.
Oh yeah, and a name/symbol wouldn't hurt either. sweatdrop

The things that we need for our plan to work are definitely numerous and widespread... The logo issue will take care of itself, and the recruitment will follow once we can present a respectable and organized face to the world.

I'd just like to mention that once we do have a bit of influence, we can start not by absorbing(or forming alliances with) small political parties but also organizations, such as the Masons, BPOE, and others. If we're feeling frisky, we can also own a couple religious organizations, maybe.

If we're feeling frisky, we can also own a couple religious organizations, maybe. Religious organizations, even the BPOE are a bit tricky. If we want to align ourselves with them we run the risk of losing our religious tolerance policy. We could form alliances with independent parties though, that's not a bad idea. We could both use the numbers. Still, this is all based around the idea that we have a political party and stance. We need to develop these.

Yes, the symbol so far is not too demonic/evil to detour members, however the name would not sit well as an actual political party. About the religious aspect of this plan, I've heard a few comments about "eliminating religion". I find this just about the worst idea so far. Religion is a very powerful influence in all countries and as such tolerance for all religions is the best solution. If we attempted to get rid of religion is would be a repeat of Nazism and go against the pacifist plan as most religious people are willing to die for what they believe. I think removing religious oppression in the countries that free religion is not allowed will in itself gain a huge following.

"Eliminating religon" is definitely not part of the plan, infact, Tolerance is currently the "official" solution 3nodding Most debates of a religious nature left are discussing how to unify a world within such a diverse collection of often opposing cultures.

I'll give an answer to that one right now: You cannot. Short of a biblical figure descending form the clouds and telling everyone what to do, it's not gonna happen. Our only feasable option is for us to minimize the frequency and severity of conflicts between factions.

Are we trying to go about the subtly, spreading a little mystery and intrigue about the name, Darkstar? Getting little rumors started here and there, gaining a name for ourselves among the forums?
Or are we going for a massive recruitment, as many people as soon as possible?
About the symbol, is there a decided one yet? I've seen a few variations of the traingle and circle, but nothing set.

About the symbol, is there a decided one yet? I've seen a few variations of the traingle and circle, but nothing set. We need members first, no rumors yet. After following a trail of clues and vague forum posts, people don't want to discover Darkstar is a rag-tag forum group with only (if not less than) fifty active members (though I am impressed with the recent surge in membership).

Promise people power and equality and they'll be all over the party.
Which is pretty much what we're doing now. For the time being, word of mouth works.

My charisma must be lacking, because I have only convinced one person. (who has conveniently been offline for today)
