Shinwa took an interest in necromancers and asked, "Necromancers? What are they?" She wasn't the Defense Agaisnt the Dark Arts teacher for many reasons.

"well" said prof. smith the Ancient Magic and it's Forms teacher "They're an older for of magic, Many would consider them a dark magic, except for the fact that they don't actually harbor dark intent towards any person." he swirled his goblet "This one is quite young for a necromancer that is. You see, because they spend so much of their lives just trying to master the basic spells and such they don't actually begin to live their lives for quite some time." He took a drink from the goblet "When they reach a certain point, they become a Lich. Which is basically of super powerful, super strong, zombie."

"well its not like he can, wait thats a bad example, uh...well I don't think he's gonna turn into a Lich anytime soon, I'd give him another 300 years at least." He chuckled a bit "besides, I figured he'd fit right in with slytherin"

"Necromancers! wow, I never have met one before. This is going to be an interesting year."
She looks over at Professor Smith, "Um, mabye you should take it easy on the drinking."

Before he answered he mumbled a few words and whirled his wand. "well, its the same as muggles trying to find the fountain of youth. It's a quest for immortality. By extending their life so far beyond natural ability's combined with the sheer power of their magics they are turned into Lichs." he shook his body, he had sobered himself. "Now they don't all loose their minds, in fact many will spend the first part of their immortality reading, and becoming more knowledgeable, but often they will succumb to the hunger for power."
