((I believe the usual thing with a shared tree is to claim a page each, I just don't know what order to go in. I think it might be sensible to do it in order of where's the foal's image and stats are in the first post. Might need to think of something else though as the person with the first page would have one less post than everbody else.

And Jet, just go ahead and post whenever you're ready n_n))

A previously silent fruit quite suddenly seemed to burst into a frenzy of activity. Almost as though the one within had been sitting quietly and just suddenly decided she wanted out...NOW. Perhaps that is exatly what happened, fore who can tell the way of foals?

Regardless of the reasoning the little fillys golden hooves beat against the fruits sides in an ancient struggle. Her tiny little hooves were not exactly sharp but she was determined and quite suddenly the fruit split open to reveal the golden hued flicka, or mostly golden as the tell tale marks of her dam were present in the white on her visage and the violet brush of tail.

Blinking she shook her head to clear away some ofthe clinging fruit and warbled out a fairly victorious sounding whinny, her ears twitched at the sound of a voice nearby and her head swiveled to look eyes now adjusted to the bright sunlight. A pair of Nequus stood next to another foalen. Her parents she knew.

((If I've got the first page I'm ok without having that extra post..)))

The akward foal tried to stand and failed miserably. He paused a moment in his strugles and took a deep breath. He knew that if he tried hard enough he would be able to do this. Slowly he located all of his legs and gently began to stand up. Positioning himself Udi gained his balance and steadied himself. Now that he was standing he tried to walk. Once again he fell to the earth. After a few more akward attempts the foal was able to move to his sister. As he reached her his legs gave out and he tumbled down in front of her. The expression held upon his face was one of suprise and embarrasement. Right when he'd thought he had everything undercontrol he had to go and fall. Letting out a little whinny he nipped as his sister's hair playfuly.

(bad post sorry)

The little filly watched with widened eyes as her sibling attempted the obviously dangerous task of standing up. She quickly drew her legs back as he fell in front of her a little snort of surprise at almost being fallen upon.

After a few seconds however she relented and bumped the colt with her nose as he lipped at her hair, squealing at a particularly hard pull and nipping at his neck.

One of bi-coloured fruits which, had been still for the last few moments, began to move again. First it twitched so hard that it rolled over onto its other side and then it began to distend on its upper surface. For a few moments the bulge grew as though a steady pressure were being exerted from the inside.

It wasn't long before this treatment caused a pair of fore-hooves to break though the outer wall of the fruit. Exposed to the air they waggled about awkwardly as, presumably, the occupant of the fruit attempted to find a purchase on the sky. After a few moments of useless flailing the legs stilled themselves and, just above where they had broken through, the fruit bulged again. The gold-legged creature had an easier time of it on this attempt due to the already breached outer membrane and a few heartbeats later the fruit tore half open along one of the grooves allowing a head to pop out.

Yellowish eyes peered about bemusedly for a moment before their owner seemed to get her bearings. With a frown of concentration, the filly wriggled about and pushed with her back legs.

The fruit finally split fully in two and purple-feathered foal found herself lying flat on her back. Apparently aware of how silly she looked she rolled over and scrabbled to her feet, only to fold up after two stumbling places.

"Bum," she muttered, which is a terrible thing for your first word to be. Glancing around, she spotted four other Nequus, whom she recognised as 'parents' and 'siblings' along with three still unhatched fruits. Hopefully they wouldn't find her lack of grace too amusing.

One of the remaining fruits wiggled around slightly, finally showing the signs of life that dwelled within the multi coloured fruit. The being inside seemed to kick widly with only one of his back legs, sending it crashing through the side of the fruit after only a few tries. Once that had been finished, she started to use her front leg on the opposite side of her body to kick at the front of the fruit. This was hardly as easy with the way her legs were formed.

It took several tries this time, but she manage to hear a squishing sound of her front leg breaking through as well. That's when it hit her. She was stuck in a very akward position. A slightly frantic noise left her and she struggled, finally manging to pull out her front leg and shove the tip of her nose out the hole.

No longer did she care about his image, merely getting out of this wicked fruit alive. With a few more frantic wriggles the fruit split open, allowing her to practically roll out of it. Instantly he jumped to his hooves, which was a rather stupid idea.. seeing as she just tumbled over again.

Next to the trunk, a nose popped out of the end of one of the fruits...and that was it. The nose just stayed there, breathing quietly, and the fruit lay still. Apparently the laziest of Diego and Iona's children had decided to take its sweet time over hatching.

Iona, raising her weary head to look around at her children, spotted the nose peeping out of the fruit and sighed. "I dunno," she grumbled mildly. "I give 'em all I got fer I dunno 'ow long, an' now they won' even geddup wivout me 'elpin'? Come on, lazybones, gerrouttathere!"

She stumbled over to the fruit and gave it a firm prod with her hoof. It split along the seam, revealing a purple and gold colt with a sleepy-eyed expression. He looked up at his mother in a mixture of confusion and displeasure.

"Tha's righ', boyo," Iona said gently. "Time t'geddup."

He made a grumbling sound, tried to stand up, slipped on the fruit and fell over. "...Arse," he said, which was probably his father's fault.

Iona laughed. "Y'hear 'at, 'Ansome?" she crowed. "One bum an' one arse. Ain't we doin' well?"

But all bums and arses aside, she couldn't have been more proud.

The purple foal tilted his head to the side a little at his mother's words. "Bu... bummmm.. bummar.. bumars?" His ears percked a little as he managed to somewhat duplicate what his mother had said. "Bumars?" He tried it again and even squealed a little as he said it. "Bumars." Turning it into a bit of a chant the foal continued to 'speak' as he went back to chewing upon his sister's hair.

The golden stallion raised his brows and gave Iona a smile as the purple colt spoke. “I think we’d better teach them all some other words pretty soon, don’t you?” Couldn’t be having with his children knowing only how to cuss mildly. That wouldn’t look good to his herd, not good at all… Well a lot of what he’d done of late wouldn’t look good to them so perhaps it wouldn’t matter all that much.

…Hold on. Diego looked from the purple foal who had just spoken to the patterned gold and back again. “Looks like these two switched tails,” he commented to Iona with a chuckle, bending down to give first the pair in question and then all of the foals a nuzzling. Six children, five of them all hatched and healthy.

“Shall we wait for our last arrival, Iona, or start on names now?” the blue-eyed Jala asked of the other present adult asfter a moment, bending to nudge the pure gold fruit as he spoke. It looked healthy to him and he wasn’t too worried by its lack of activity. It had been the last to fall and had fallen quite some time after its fellows so it made sense for it to be the last to hatch.

The purple-gold filly blinked her yellow eyes up at the adult pair. Ansome and Iona. Those seemed to be her parents’ names. She didn’t have one of those yet and the giving of it seemed to be discussed. Whickering softly, the small filly hauled herself to her hooves again and stumbled over to flop down at the purple mare’s hooves. Giving the skinny mare’s fetlock a nudge and whickering again she peered up at her parents expectantly, flapping her wings experimentally as she glanced from one to the other.

“Names?” she asked after a moment, hoping to indicate that she was up to date with events.

The little filly hadn't really bothered trying to stand just yet. Really with all the falling done by her siblings it seemed like a rather dangerous course of action. But her brother was about to eat what little mane she had. Her fathers nudge almost bowled her over and when she righted herself she slung her front hooves out and tryed to hoist herself to her feet as she'd now watched several of her siblings do. She was fairly certain she'd gotten the right idea behind it now.

Wavering and wobbling she managed to gain her feet after several tried, tongue stuck out in concentration and wings fluffed out like little balencing aides. Slowly but surely she raised her head trying not to unbalence herself and when she was sure she had it she arched it proudly with a small snort.

She listened to her parents talk for a few seconds and bobbed her head up an down - which nearly unbalenced her.

"Names!"

Turning her attention back to the brother at her feet, she pawed at him playfully.

Still laying there was the last egg, unhatched, glowing golden in the sunlight. Suddenly, without even trembling, the shell broke open. Bursting through was a small, totally golden foal. Shaking a stray bit of shell from her head, and sending out a soft neigh, the new one shakily tried to get up and stand.

Wobbling back and forth to get its legs up, it succeded in standing, but as soon as she attempted to take her first step, she fell down with a thump into the grass. Giving a snort, not a second passed before the tiny golden horse attempted to try getting up again. She seemed oblivious to anything around her, bent on this one task.

Diego looked down at his youngest daughter, a far away smile on his lips. She looked just like him...

Well, I must say I expected my new nephew to be a looker but he's even more beautiful than I'd expected. Just exactly like his mother, isn't he? One of these days I'll have to tell him all about her. My poor sister, I shall always miss her I think.

The blue-eyed stallion turned to Iona with a smile as his aunt’s words drifted through his mind. He still missed that old mare and the stories she’d told him as a colt. "I've a name for this little one if you don't mind; Kordelia after my mother. Everyone always said I looked just like her and since she looks so like me... Is that alright?" Perhaps as his daughter grew he'd see a shadow of the dam he had never seen. It seemed a fitting tribute to the creature who had died in giving him life, hopefully the skinny mare beside him would agree.

The yellow-eyed filly blinked up at her father with interest. Perhaps her name would come soon too. She hoped hers sounded as nice as Kordelia, that was a pretty name.

Having succeeded in getting to her feet, Kordelia looked up at her father as he spoke her name. With a squeel of delight at the way it sounded, she jumped a little in excitement. It was, however, a little much for her still wobbly legs, and Kordelia went once again down into the grass with a thump. Her snort of disgust with herself was classic as she again began the struggle of getting up on the ride side of her four wobbly feet, tossing back some golden hair from her eyes.
