I like Mikan better because she is funny, kind, and ditzy...even if she is idiotic sometimes... Hotaru is cool, but she can be so cold.

Well, every anime needs a heroine and it's either like Hotaru (and Haruhi) or like Mikan and a billion others. I personally like Mikan although I'm always annoyed at her for her weakness and stupidity because she is keen to other people's feelings and knows exactly what to say to them even though her head is in space all day. I wish I could do that. Hotaru knows what people feel too, but she knows too much has too many problems of her own which makes her less likeable in a sense.

i like both.
But Mikan is so adorable! with her little pea-sized brain that can only in so much. why do you think she's dense.
Hotaru is adorable too. In her own way. she kinda keeps Mikan in place.

Hmm... I personally like Hotaru and Mikan! Mikan is really cheerful and such but then I hate her hair. I like Hotaru because she is all cool and I love her eye color... and her alice is my favorite! mrgreen
