Well, the only way to know if an idea will work out is to put it in motion.

My guess would be talon division 3nodding
Anyways, I got a big suggestion here... And its something I'm definatly going to want to do after I get my squad training finished. We already have things like a weapons/armor list and force our members to fill out equipment lists... and squads too, what a useful tool! Why is it that with all this organization, we don't raid anyone? I think all would have a great time barging into some futuristic rp, unfurelling the BoS banners, and adding 15 or so rp'ers in one night. The rest of the rp'ers in the thread would probably be shocked as we came in and conquered everyone with our supperior skill and numbers... and afterwards we could use the place to recruit. It sounds inpractical as I describe it, but I've seen guilds be successfull in raids with much smaller numbers. BoS has all the rescources, why don't we militarize?

She retired and you're not the only squad leader in Talon you know, we have ChibiSarafan too you know in Talon as a squad leader. As for squad leaders from the other division, what in the hell are you talking about? As EV said, she got rid of her squads months ago, have to stay on top of things CFAR, damn. xd @EV: True, but I like having an idea and all of it's problems hammered out before putting into motion so that it's not an extreme amount of bugs when I put it on the market and plus, their just ideas.

To be honest, I completely missed this post until now since I posted right after it within a minute. Anyways, I've always been for going out and having wars, battles, etc. But we also try to avoid wars and whatnot as a general rule, try to maintain peace, blah blah. But I do like the idea you suggested, I've always suggested it to all the Elders and Paladins in the past, they always agreed to stay with peace though. But it would increase recruiting since people would be inspired to join. For awhile there, I was going into RPs and participating with my BoS character, but making my power armor alot weaker than it's supposed to be in order to be fair. Anyways, it's how we got in several members or more is from just myself being in RPs, RPing in the name of The Brotherhood and it worked too with just a single person. Unfortunately, none of those members that came in stayed, but I'm sure you remember PT Of The Borg, the username is off, but everyone knew her as PT, she joined because she was in a RP that I was participating in. You could always try to take your squad into those type of situations and if successful, get the rest of everyone in on it as well, kinda like a test run or something of that sort. But many members do need RP training I'd say or at least experience just by training against another real player. @CFAR: I've addressed that already in Talon, you can if you'd like, make sure to keep them small though, below 500x500 pixels and don't stretch the page, other than that, go ahead, it's the chatterbox subforum.

I love war, just I always have to play the peace keeper as a leader of a "peaceful" guild, despite it being labelled as "military". But at quite a few points in our history, a large scale war would have hindered the growth of the guild rather than actually help it, mostly towards the beginning though where we had few. Currently, we still have few and even alot of people who doesn't like RPing or doesn't really know how to. But RPing in existing RPs to walk in and kick a**, I'd say it wouldn't harm anything except probably provide expansion for us with people seeing BoS kick a** and then wanting to join this kick a** fighting force. You know, putting it in crude terms of course, but that'd be the general reasoning behind it.

In response to the war mongering (hehe Xenos, my nickname at the firehouse is "war mongerer" ) Ender, do you think it'd be possible to find another guild and stage mock wars in one of the forums? People don't seem to keen om joining the ones around here, but maybe the promise of going out and battling other people might get them intrested. Yes, I know a lot of us need RP training (I know I definatly do) but sometimes the best way to learn something is to throw yourself into it.
If not, we could try and pull something off like what we do at Company burns. The guys who know what they're doing go in and put the fire out and learn new things while those of us who dont know a damn thing walk around and watch what's happening, and sometimes they stage smaller burns and activities for us to do so we're not going into the fire, but we're still being productive and lerning things. (I couldn't go into this past company burn, but they sure as hell worked me to death none the less)

Hmm, I think starting with BoS members going into normal RPs made by others outside of BoS, providing different environments and practice in RPing against others would be good for testing such a thing out and if proven successful, then perhaps finding and staging a mock war with another guild for fun, start small before going up against a wide scale military force you know.

If you want/need a "safe and friendly" experience, then I can volunteer some of the people from my guild to go against the people in this guild. I mean, I don't think I'd be able to stay on one side, and I'd have to like, referee or something, so neither side gets an advantage. xp (I'm not full of myself.) EDIT: Actually, what the Hell. I think it'd be a good experience for the people in my guild to fight against me. They're not too shabby of RPers, so I think that if we sorta "threw our guys into the fire" that it would be a nice experience. Sorta.

Yeah, it'd give experience to both guilds, which is to the ultimate benefit, but I think we should hold off on that sort of thing until the majority of everyone is out of school for the summer, meaning more time to RP and whatnot. I do think quite a few in the guild needs training before such a thing though, otherwise, to be honest, I think quite a few of the greener members would get their a** whipped and you know how it's always arguments in people versus people RPing, many arguing that this or that isn't allowed or unfair because they don't want to take hints, be outflanked, that sort of thing. I'd definitely have to be a judge, which I wouldn't mind and if against for example some in your guild for fun and the experience of RPing against other people, then it'd probably have to be someone from yours too to make judging fair, otherwise, many can say that one side of the other is being screwed because the judges are from that guild. But yeah, perhaps a slight bit of training before practicing with another guild or maybe just throw them into practicing with another guild might be best, not sure.

Well I think that's a brilliant idea. Perhaps we may make some sort of AMP (Anti-Munch Project, anti-godmoding thing; if you didn't know) training thread where people have to pass to prove that they would be able to interact against other players. For instance, have the listing of all of the rules of what godmodding is and all of its facets in the begining of the thread, and then have a mission outline for them. I mean, you could just have the [eight] humans versus [twelve] NPCs controlled by me or you or whomever, and see how they preform. If any rules are broken, quote where they have broken it and cite which rule has ben violated. Just to be safe, I'll run my guild through something similar before allowing them to compete.
