"Oh~" Vaati closed his eyes slowly, his smile had grown just a little.
He was glad that she had not asked what he was going to say before, for though he was so at ease, he would have lied to her, most likely, which he did not care to do.
"I just feel so much better... now that I've had a drink."
He stretched out, rear pointing towards the sky and his forelegs stretched before him, his claws scratching the ground. His mouth opened wide as he yawned, revealing oddly sharp fangs and, even more odd, the inside of his mouth, which glowed like his eyes and fur and was the same chartreuse-green colour.
"I hope you don't mind that I'm more conversive..? I would hate to be a bother to you. However, tonight is the night of a full moon, if I am not mistaken. It should be quite visible. I hope it's a harvest moon- that's when it's the best. Er, well, in my opinion."
Instead of sitting back up after his stretch, he slowly dropped to his stomach, resting his head on his paws that were crossed. Vaati sighed, and ignored the thought in the back of his mind- how he did not understand why he felt so at ease.
"Fish? There may be. If I were a fish, then I would like to live in a place like this, I think."
He chuckled to himself a little.
"But I'm no fish. They may be further upstream."

"Of course I dont mind. Also, whats a harvest moon again?" FrostBite was not at all ashamed for not knowing what it was. Retsu thought for a moment and pondered another thing about the other topic mentioned. "Well, if the fish are upstream then where does a stream even start?" FrostBite was always puzzled by this, she didnt think it could start at a pond because it would eventrully run dry, and it couldnt just appear out of no where. FrostBite rubbed her eyes and yawned slightly, she was beginning to get tired so she laied down as well. "Would this offend you if I asked? Does a harvest moon have anything to do with your 'glowing?'"

Vaati's eyes were still closed, but he knew that she too, had layed down. Now that dusk was falling, his glow was very easy to see. It was not bright, since it did not produce much light, but it was very vivid. It glowed in a way that wasn't like a fire and gave off light. It just glowed and eerie glow.
"A harvest moon... is when the moon is very big and looks like an orange colour. It doesn't have to be when the moon is full, but that's when it looks the most impressive. It's quite a sight."
His eyes opened a little bit. They too, glowed in the oncoming darkness, and they trailed over to FrostBite. Vaati's ears gave a twitch, and his tail wriggled once, maybe twice as he little less than gazed at her. She asked so many questions, and seemed rather naive, but he didn't mind.
"Well, rain is what replenishes lakes and things like that. And they flow to the ocean. The start of this stream is probably a lake somewhere. That is probably where the fish like to be."
The Ulaya's eyes closed slowly, and he thought about her final inquiry for a moment before answering with a small smile.
"I am not offended- on the contrary, it's nice that someone is curious about me. But, to my knowledge, the harvest moon doesn't have anything to do with my glow. I don't really know, for all that I do, it may."

"Pff, stupid me, I forgot about the water cycle," FrostBite blinked than closed her eyes, "I dont think I have ever seen a harvest moon before, it must be interesting." FrostBite concluded her questions and listened to the grass sway back in forth in the wind. FrostBites eyes were slits now, despite it being cloudy, some stars were visible. FrostBite put her paw over her muzzle. She didnt know if she snore when she slept but she wanted to take a precaution just in case anyway. She shifted her ears downward to keep them from becoming too cold by the pleasant breeze the was shifting every now and then.

"Oh, you're not stupid at all. It's my fault for not providing sufficient things to converse about."
Vaati glanced over at her as she tried to protect her ears from the breeze, which had become rather cool since it was nighttime. It was then that he noticed that she was preparing for sleep, and he couldn't help but blush a little.
"It is interesting. I hope that you can see one soon."
The Ulaya's eyes shifted to the sky, looking at the few visible stars as the darkened clouds passed by, wary of the sky in case the moon showed itself. He grew nervous again, as his euphoria began to diminish and he realized that he was rather tired and near to FrostBite.
"If... you get cold... you can, I mean- If you get too cold, I don't mind if you get closer... since it would be warmer."
His ears went down, almost pressed against his head for a moment.

FrostBite nodded, "I hope so too." FrostBite got up and walked over and lied down next to him. "Merf, good night." FrostBite opened her eyes one last time to take a peek at the stars and moon then closed them. She steadied her breathing and listened to the crickets chirp for awhile before eventrully drifting off into a slumber. She soon had a vivid dream after, it was night with no stars but there was a large, full moon, FrostBite didnt know if it was a harvest or not, and under the moon was a feild of endless cherry bloossoms, or at least thats what she thought they were.

The Ulaya fae had fallen asleep within seconds, leaving Vaati awake to ponder and to be near her.
For a moment, he stared at her before turning his eyes upward, watching the stars as they peeked out from behind the traveling clouds and disappeared from sight.
He thought to rise and leave without waking her, it was probably best that way. But he too, was tired, and she would likely wake from his departure in any case.
So he stayed and also slowly drifted into slumber. If he were to awaken before her, then he would leave, he decided. As not to bother her.

FrostBite awoke and rubbed her sleepy eyes. She saw Vaati had drifted off to sleep himself and decided just to wait until he woke up himself. She walked over groggily to the stream and drank some of the cool water to wake herself up some more. FrostBite stretched out and stayed near the stream and looked up at the sky to see what time it should be around.

It was awhile before Vaati's eyes slowly flickered open. He didn't move, and continued to lay there for awhile, recalling the night prior and regathering his surroundings. Clouded chartreuse eyes crept over towards FrostBite as she lapped at the stream water before looking to the sky.
In his mind, he was irate with himself for oversleeping, but did not dwell on it. He was here, and so was she, and that was all.
Vaati then arose from his place, the bones of his phalanges crackling after having been unused for the night. A yawn escaped from his maw, fangs gleaming in the light of a new day as he stretched out and blinked a few times.
As not to be rude, he told her "Good morning", and sauntered casually to the stream.

FrostBite turned and looked at Vaati as he came over to the stream as well. "Oh, good morning, didnt notice you had awakened." She blinked and smiled casually, it was a beautiful morning and the birds were chirping as usual, claiming their territory.

Vaati smiled a bit and chuckled as he took a spot by the stream to sit down.
"I didn't think I would sleep so late. I suppose that trekking through that forest took more out of me than I intended for it to."
After lowering his head to the water's level, he lapped some of it up to clear the 'morning' taste from his mouth; it was just as refreshing as ever.
"Did you sleep well?"

"Yeah, I guess I did. You?" FrostBite breathed deep breaths of the cool morning air. "But the only thing I dreamed of was a moon and feild of cherry blossoms, nothing else." FrostBite laid on her back and watched the clouds float by.

"Hm? Oh, I slept fine."
He stopped for a moment to ponder the latter of her statement, about her dream. Vaati, himself, had never dreamt before, and if he had, it must have been only of darkness.
As he thought about it, he dipped a glowing paw into the water and blinked.
"That sounds like a nice dream to me."

"Yeah, it was nice but kind of boring. It was just like looking at a painting but nothing else happening." FrostBite paused, "how do brains project those images in our minds while we sleep?" FrostBite has always wondered this right before falling asleep every day.

Again, he chuckled. And again, he could not answer her inquiry. Since he had never had a dream before, he had never put much thought into it, and so he had never found the answer to such a question.
"Actually, I've never had a dream before, so I really couldn't tell you. I do know that some think that dreams are a sign from the subconscious mind, telling you things that you may not be thinking of usually, but are deep down. Things like that."
Vaati stood up on his four legs. Very calmly, he strode several steps back from the stream, turning back to face it, with a look on his face as if he were up to something.
