Leo grabbed the paper, and pulled it open. He couldn't read the man's scrawl, but the individual letters where never the same shape, or for that matter, the same capitalization. This, of course, was shocking to Leo, a professor who had graded and written too many papers to count. "Sir, on second thought, you wanna' come inta the poetry circle, and read this? We'll hafta ask ya to leave, after that bit, but I nearly think that the circle would love ta hear it. If it's good, then we'll damn sure invite you the next time." Leo smiled at the man, and beckoned for him to follow. He set off for the hallway which lead to the backroom.

Leo strode into the back room about twenty paces ahead of the man. As he entered, a few of the regulars started the rasping cry that would be a cheer. He silenced them with a wave. "Aw'right, we've got us a visitor tonight, he's gonna read us a poem real nice, so you all best be clappin' for him, right? He'll leave after he's done, but I want you to rate his poem as to seein' how good it'd fit with our standard fare." He looked at Annie, with a look that translated that this was merely a distraction, the real teaching would start soon.
Gabriel shut his book, and wondered if the other meetings would start like this.

Ed glanced around, and shifted nervously. He stepped into the room with his hands in his pockets. He spoke hesitantly.
"Aye, I got a poem. But me inner writer 'as told me not to say anythin' more then the poem."
He shifted a bit, but became more comfortable. He took the crumpled piece of paper that had been shoved in his pocket, and carefully unfurled it. If anyone was able to see it, it was in a thick caligraphy pen, and was very short. Ed cleared his throat, and focused all his information on looking at the paper.
"You are not alone."
He spoke these words without a trace of an accent, and put his hands back into his pants as he read the next line.
"We will contact you."
He slowly pulled out a lighter, which was expertly flicked and held to the paper. Then, in a stage whisper,
"Vive."
The paper crumbled into flames, and Edd stood there blankly. Not in his usual, stupid blankness, but in a cold, calculated nothingness.

Gabriel sat in his chair, stunned. After some time, he looked around and saw that everyone had a similiar sentiment of shock plain as day on their faces. He started clapping, slowly, so as not to embarass the man. The crowd gathered joined in his clap.
Leo gathered his wits about him, and walked over to the man. "That.. was wunderful... sir. We'll talk about it in the circle, and we may invite ya later. Thank you. You know yer way back out?" With that, he gave a curt nod to bobby, who stood to follow the man out.

He nodded to Leo, and briskly walked out. The man may have followed him, and he would have seen Edd walk out, light a cigarette, and walk away.

((And now, we wait for Jester to appear back from the Afrikaans. I've got no notion as to where he intends to take the lesson, and that little mote of drama has worked itself out.))

Jester got up after Edd and Bobby walked out, He passed Bobby who was standing at the front desk and grinned. "He in or what?" Bobby only nodded and handed him a peice of paper. Jester then rushed out the door, he could afford to miss one lesson, hell, he could teach most of what he would have heard tonight. As he hit the street he looked around for the gentlemen, invitation in hand.
(I gave up on Leo's accent, too time consuming, i gotta pay for interweb here)
Leo stood at the front of the room. "Tonight the main lessons will be 'practical and easy methods of sabotage.' But for those who want to use a different approach to things Bobby will be speaking on the art of protest, peaceful and otherwise, and for those who find neither of the afore mentioned subjects intriguing my daughter Annie will be discussing protest in literature. So let's make three circle with these chairs and begin our lessons."
(I can't do the main lesson until I'm back home.)

((Thanks for being so dedicated Josh. I seriously appreciate it.))
Edd would be standing on the corner outside of the shop, smoking. He arched his brow towards Jester, and looked at him. "Well?"

Jester grinned and held out the peice of paper that he got from Bobby, "You're good, real good. You're also in if you'd like to be. Not this time, but this time doesn't really matter nothing new, and only barely exciting. Anyway." He looked down at the paper in his hand. "Here's your invitation for next time, what do you say to going for a walk. Get a drink maybe? Go to the mall? Sewers? Downtown? You pick I'm up for anything. Although I am a bit hungry. Let's grab a bite to eat first."

Edd shrugged and started walking along the sidewalk. "I'd like to go to Greg's deli meself, got a few things to pick up there anyway, and he makes some damn tasty sandwiches." Edd puffed on his cigarette, and looked over at Jester. "Though you shouldn't be compliment'n an errand boy so much. Af'r all, I am just a messenger."

Gabriel stood as the man made mention of the lessons. This was all he needed to know, and he was interested in that strange man, Ed. He nodded to Annie on his way out, and rushed after. He pushed open the door, and ignored the little tinkle of the doorbell. ((You guys are on 26th, aren't you? Might as well post there, eh?))

At the infoshop, inside the truck, a CB radio clicked on. A voice came from it.
"The church has found what this vehicle really is. You better get it out of their range of vision. Remember: Out of sight, out of mind."
The radio would then abruptly click off.
