See... I get the whole blood-bond thing... and if was an actual reality thing I'd be behind what happened 100%.. but at the end... when the Fantasy was gonna be compromised... it called forth all the elements of Deans dream world to make him choose that over reality.. so maybe it was using Sam to follow Dean... keep an eye out. Dean would be more distracted if Sam was there than just being there by himself.

Hmm... I disagree.. Because when Dean had Sammy there, beside him, he would have been further reminded of the true reality. So, yes, it played on his feelings of allowing Sam to have happiness with Jess (OMG! I was just as thrilled to see her as Dean was!!! smile ), but it was clear that despite the pain he had, he would always choose reality over fantasy (lol... He had the Beer lady as his gf!!! smile )

Fine! Disagree with me!!!! lol! As I was watching... and the more they were trying to convince him to stay.. I'm just like, "look at Sam you idiot!!! If you were to stay... who would look after him!? He'd be all alone with his 'destiny' crap.. and there's no possible way he could live a normal life... stop being a selfish pansy!".....

*haha* I kinda thought that they point of the matter was that Sam didn't have to deal with all that destiny crap!!! When he was lying in bed with Jess (ah... Just like in the Pilot... *sigh*), I fully expected he was going to wake to a splitting pain in his head... lol. Instead it was a redux of Dean breaking in on the Pilot episode...
I think at that moment, they were spurn onto the path that had otherwise started 2 years ago - when John had 'gone missing'.
And yes. FINE! I disagree with you! rofl
(but u still love me... heart So... *shrugs*)

fpvs *haha* I kinda thought that they point of the matter was that Sam didn't have to deal with all that destiny crap!!! When he was lying in bed with Jess (ah... Just like in the Pilot... *sigh*), I fully expected he was going to wake to a splitting pain in his head... lol. Instead it was a redux of Dean breaking in on the Pilot episode... Same as when he wanted to make the deal in Crossroad Blues.. He reeeeeally really wants to... but he wont. As for that whole scene... with Dean stealing the silver... absolute brilliance.. it was practically the same from 1x01... and Sam never got the better of Dean cause he was 'out of practice'... lol! fpvs And yes. Except... Yeah... Sam in real world... poor Sam in real world... With Dean... All comatose and stuffs... Though Sam did say how most people would just stay in the world... That he was strong or whatever... Almost like he was surprised he had the strength to do that...
Oh! YAY! Dean's still coping! WHEE!!! He's still managing to fight the good fight...
*sigh* So long as he has Sammy... And so long as he needs to look after Sammy.... *ponders* Maybe that's a deep-seeded need - to look after Sammy.... And he couldn't do that in a world where they didn't fight demons and other nasties.... *nods*

If Dean stayed in the fantasy world.. he'd probably spend the rest of his life trying to build his and Sam's relationship... but it would never be the same. Different priorities... At least Dean can actually do his fantasy job tho.... mechanic.. blaugh Sexy mechanic...

And I thought Dean's fantasy job would have been to become a fire fighter! smile Cos he'd still be saving people... But maybe that only would have come out had Mary been killed.... neutral

My LJ post about this ep is just a bunch of squealing and keysmashes. I love love love love love love Dean... like, LOVE. And this episode just ripped my heart out, stomped around on it and handed it back in a dirty brown paper bag. Jensen is an amazing actor how he portrayed Dean, how he took it all in and played the script back for this episode was guh, phenomenal. I was crying by the time Dean went to see Mary and was just hugging her. heart

I love when he stabbed himself. Not because I hate Dean. I Effing love the guy. It's just shows that he would do anything to get back. Not matter what the cost. Also When everyone is saying that he would repair things with Sam(in the fantasy). He would have limited time. Remember in the real world he is dying. So at some point in time in his dream it would be all ripped away.

It was a great episode. Dean's mom was alive(although his dad was still dead, but not by demon's this time), Sam still had Jess and he finally got to propose to her, and Dean was finally happy. It was sad though because he was happy but he wanted reality over his dream life and it was sad cause he only got to spend a little time with his mom, even though she wasn't real. crying

I wonder if John wasn't there because they didn't want him there. Or they thought John couldn't be there (his soul/essence/whatever in hell/wherever). Or JDM couldn't find time in his schedule to appear....

I doubt it was his spirit or anything cause well it was all in Deans mind. He wanted it and it was his wish. SO I say it was jeffery's schedule got in the way. Plus if John was alive. Dean would have never went back.
