Well, the Tharils could walk on the Time Winds & the Cheetah People seemed to be able to go from one world to another without any sort of ship or device....
Mind you the Tharils seemed to be more intelligent & civilized (although at some point in their history they didn't mind keeping Human slaves). The Cheetah People pretty much live in the "Now", as Wendy Pini calls it in Elfquest. smile

Survival is one of the better Sylvester McCoy stories.

Before watching this I never thought that Anthony Ainley was very good as the Master but his performance in this was great.

The story was a mixture of modern (80's) and classic sci-fi what with the cheetah people and the planet looking like better versions of something you'd find from the 60's (although, come to think of it, the former wasn't all that much better than what they could do 20 years earlier).

And there's a lot of special features on the DVD, if anyone besides me actually bothers to watch them...

Hairy Priest
I'm surprised about all the positive responses to the story... I actually thought it was one of the weaker ones from Season 26. My order of preference is:

Fenric > Ghost Light > Survival > Battlefield

I'm not that partial to it (which is odd for me, as I'm such a fanboy of the last two seasons) because I think the tone's so off. The scenes that are aiming for realism just aren't convincing enough, and for once need to be. If you're fighting a big sweetie monster on Terra Alpha then the acting and direction shouldn't be naturalistic. If you're trying to portray a teenager sifting through the ashes of her mundane life then the acting and direction has to be naturalistic or it just all becomes very silly.

My order would be...

Ghost Light> Almost all televised Who.

Sorry, let me start again...

Ghost Light
> Fenric> Battlefield> Survival.

Resurrecting the thread - it looks like the Beeb are doing one 7th Doctor release a year, just to keep me sweet wink

This year it was "Battlefield", which I have just watched in its feature-length edition. I rather enjoyed it, but then I always enjoyed the novelisation. Mind you, I've been reading the New Adventures one after the other (up to "St Anthony's Fire" so far and it occurs to me that I almost prefer the NA Ace to her original incarnation. I must be getting old...
