Yes, you do need to check out Skillet, Shakou! Check out the new album, Collide. It's definitely their hardest rocking album yet. Savior and the title track, Collide, are definitely my best picks from the album.
"Has anybody heard of Supertones?" haha. hahaha. ha Of course! One of the first big Christian ska bands! Debuted in '94 on Tooth and Nail with "Adventures of the O.C. Supertones"! I'm not much a Supertones fan anymore, I kinda lost interest in them after they released their fourth album, Loud and Clear (they still crank out some good stuff, but it's not quite the same), but I got a lot of respect for em. Their new single, We Shall Overcome, is pretty good.
What I wanna know is how many people are big fans of Five Iron Frenzy, or have even heard of em.
Oh yeah, and who has old school P.O.D, from back when they were on Rescue Records in '94? Proud owner of every P.O.D. cd 3nodding
((I get really excited about my music whee ))

I lean towards the harder-rocking kind of stuff. Skillet is probably my favorite Christian band. (JoJo has a favorite of something? Astounding!) When I first heard Collide, I was really weirded-out, because I was used to hearing more of an electronic sound from them, but now it's my favorite album of theirs to date. I caught them live on the Alien Youth tour, and they were in my town on guitartist Ben Kasica's 18th birthday! We all sang to him and made him wear bouncy antennae! 'Twas great.
Other favorite Christian bands would be P.O.D., Project 86, Demon Hunter, Stavesacre, Plankeye, Furthermore, Relient K, The Benjamin Gate, 38th Parallel, Crimson, Kutlass, Justifide, Lucerin Blue, delerious?, dc Talk, The W's, Newsboys, Sixpence None the Richer, and Audio Adrenaline.
Has anyone seen or heard Hero! the Rock Opera? Perhaps know of plans to release the show on DVD? I have the soundtrack and the graphic novel, but the live show never came anywhere near me, sadly.

hey JoJo! You put a post in the Project 86 thread didnt you? I can't believe it got abandoned....I love Project 86 xd Andrew Schwab is my hero... whee
I've heard the soundtrack to Hero! and was looking forward to getting to see it, but it never came anywhere near me either. I would imagine they would turn it into a live DVD...it makes sense.

It does make sense. It makes so much sense. I'd be at the store the first day they released it...
Yeah, I posted in your Project 86 thread. Greatness they are! It's fantastic to have a band that has both that pure-adrenaline sound, and intelligent lyrics. (I mean, in Truthless Heroes alone, how many works of classic literature do they alude to?) [Sigh.] Poor abandoned thread. Requiescat in pace.

I got out of DC Talk after Jesus Freak...But I had been into DC Talk when they first debuted. I remember seeing them when they were opening up for another major act. Well, I guess I don't remember, cause I was too young to remember, but I was there, I know that much. whee I used to like Toby Mac's solo project, but now I think he's just annoying xp . Of the three soloist, I think Tait is the best.
And I didn't start the Project 86 thread, someone else did, but it had really excited me.

I'd say my favorites would be Switchfoot, Relient K, Justifide, and Michael W Smith. I have heard of Five Iron Frenzy but I can't say I can name any of their songs.

Yeah, I like dc Talk. But I really like them best either on Supernatural or the live album Welcome to the Freak Show. I'm honestly not a big fan of their early studio albums. As great as the songs are, they seem to be performed with an uncanny lack of emotion....
Yeah, Hero! exist(s/ed) as a live show, album, novel trilogy, and five-part comic mini-series.

DC Talks best albums was Free At Last, no contest. Ah, the good ol' days of good contemporary Christian music....
Yeah, Relient K is pretty popular...what i hate about them is all the screaming, obsessive little girls who love em to death and don't understand what half the songs are about xp . They have a song about Thundercats and I heard a girl singing it, then she said "I love this song! But who or what are Thundercats?" I wanted to hurt her.....
