Enji blinked at the image before him. It seemed easy enough to him, but was it really that easy?
Enji nodded, standing up before he walked close to the tree they were instructed to climb. He then closed his eyes, focusing his chakra to his feet and with that began climbing. He reached for the branch and switched his focus to the palm of his hand, but before he could could grasp, he lost his footing and started to slip. With that, he kicked off the tree trunk and skidded across the ground. "I was so close." he said with a bit of embarassment, scratching the back of his head. "I had forgotten to keep my focus to my feet at the same time..."

Soya was about to laugh, but it turned into a yawn. "Well, I suppose this means that I'll have to go and yell at the instructors. Then again, I suppose that manipulation was my strongest point in the academy...come to think of it, that's all I really could do...err, not that any of that matters!" Soya paced himself over to the trees.
"Well, trial and error, I suppose. Too much, the wood splinters. Too little, you break off. Too little chakra used and you won't stick, too much and you waste yourself out. Really, it's all a b***h. But here's a trick for getting started, proven to work! Just stand in some dirt and sned the chakra to your feet." Soya put his hands together and did so.
"Very simply, the right amount shouldn't indent the dirt, and when you lift up your feet..." soya lifted up his feet, and on the sandals was a cake of dirt. "Y'see? Then just do the same with a branch above your head. It's all a system of trial and error, since various surfaces will require various degrees of chakra needed. Try a few more times, then go on inside and we can have some breakfast and discuss what to do next."

Ocheno looked relieved. Well, at least I'm not the only one who can't really do it, he thought. "Trial and error... Well obviously I put too much effort into it the last time, so..." He stood there for a moment, thinking. "Alright." He climbed the tree, normally, though relatively fast. He walked out onto a thicker branch, appeared to slip but touched the side of it with his palm. As he did, he put Chakra into his hand, allowing him to slide to the bottom of the branch. "I think I've got this down..." He hung there for a good fifteen seconds, before unexpectedly losing his grip and plummeting once more. He stood up, massaging his backside and brushing dirt off his clothes.

"Y'see? Easy. Plus it's nifty for all sorts of situations! Walking on water, up walls, on cielings, moving surfaces, redirecting projectiles, efficient chakra use...fairly much everything a ninja needs to be a ninja! Oh! Which reminds me, you're doing this every day come rain, sleet or snow. Or at least until you can walk straight up the side of the building. Whatever, Enji, you go too."

(Sorry. I had a busy past 3 days. :b I'm back now, though.)
Enji thought for a moment, placing the palm of his right hand onto the trunk of the tree. "I always wondered how I'd see other ninja cling to the cieling so easily. It's all starting to make sense now." He then walked over to another tree and placed both palms onto the trunk for a little experiment. "So, if I do this..." he said as he focused his chakra hard on his right hand, causing the bark to crack and buckle beneath. "The bark ruptures and falls apart beneath, but if I focus just right..." he continued before he focused a good amount to his left palm. "The bark stays virtually the same and it allows me to climb or cling to it like a spider."
With that, he then walked back to his original tree, turning toward the others. "I think I'm ready now." he said as he started to grab on to climb. "Here goes nothing." With that, Enji climbed up to the first branch he knew would be able to carry his weight, reached for it and focused his chakra to his palms. He then reached with his other hand before letting go of the trunk, hanging onto the branch for a good 20 seconds before letting go and falling to his feet.

"Perfect! But yeah, do that as much as possible. We'll be covering other techniques later; first leaping farther, more precise control, etc. etc. Now come inside." Soya leapt on over to the house and ran inside.

Still brushing himself off, Ocheno walked into the house. "Hey, I'm just wondering, but, isn't there usually supposed to be three genin in a squad?"

Enji stepped into the house, stretching with a yawn. "I can see why you want us to continue. That was rather draining."
He paused for a moment when he heard Ocheno's question. "Well, we're not entirely sure if we do have a third teamate or not. I don't really know the full details, but he seems to have slipped away into a coma during a mission."

Naomi was gone, and Soya was just pouring some cereal and drinking his coffee. "We've got two because they're lazy. In any case, if the mission merits it, and perhaps even if it doesn't, Naomi will accompany us. That's enough for any mission. Now just grab something to eat, drop anything off if you need to. Oh! Right, Ocheno, you've got a floor to yourself. Kujikeru'll be living in the empty room until we get a third. After you're done, I'll have Naomi teach you. I'm bushed."

"Sounds good to me." Enji said, pouring a bowl of cereal for himself as well. "Especially after the training we just did. My hands feel a little bit numb after that." he continued before pouring green tea into a cup, and placing both the cereal and cup infront of an empty seat. He then sat down and started his breakfast.

Ocheno yawned, untying his headband and tying it around his arm, a more comfortable position at the moment. He poured himself a bowl of cereal like the other two. After a few spoonfuls, asked of Soya, "Who's Kujikeru? Another person who lives here with you, sensei?" He said this while holding the spoon in his mouth, the handle of it sticking out, so it sounded a bit muffled.

"Kujikeru? Oh, he's...hell, he's a strange little Genin from the Cloud who's living here while he attends his own team. He's usually out, though, so I wouldn't expect to see him much." Soya finished up and threw his dishes in the sink. "Well, in any case, I'm done here. Naomi should be back in a second. G'nigh-- ...err, morning? Whatever, sleep." Soya lulled up the stairs, slamming the door on the top level.
Minutes later Naomi came back inside. "...wheeeeere's Soya?"

Ocheno jumped at Naomi's entrance. "Soya-sensei is upstairs. He's sleeping."
He yawned widely. "Which sounds like a pretty good idea right now... I'm pretty tired after that training, I've never controlled my chakra in that way before..."

"Yep. He seemed pretty out of it. Worse than we are at the moment." Enji said before he took the last spoonful of his cereal. With that he set his spoon into the bowl and took one more sip of his tea. "That felt like it was a full-days training and it wasn't even over an hour's worth. It seemed easy, but it sure doesn't feel like it." he said with a yawn.

"...well what a lazy bunch of bastards you all are," she blurted bluntly. I gotta go get him." Naomi ran up stairs quickly. Some talking was heard, then a loud 'slap'. She came back down, still somewhat flushed. "All right, all right, fine. I'll take you out right now. But nothing special, just simple target killing. Just come around to the back of the house. Don't fall off."
