You can be a king or a street sweeper,"Never saw a point in taking evolution when I know everything about it already, I happen to like learning when I'm in school - otherwise I'd be taking Japanese right now," Shi said, taking the keyring off her katana (her skirt didn't have any pockets - so she kept it looped around her sword) and spinning it in between her fingers, Fukitsu pawing at it as it came near her. She let the kitten play with it for a moment before taking it away from her, nuzzling her nose against the kitten's to keep it happy. "Yeah, I am gonna keep my instruments in the trunk - such is the benefit of a hearse, I can keep a drum set, violin, and a guitar in there all at the same time... but I do have some of my seasonal clothes in there," she said, pondering over if there was anything else in her car that she was going to need to retrieve anytime soon. There were some weapons (but then again, there were weapons everywhere she had been - so that was no different), her clothes and instruments, and probably some school books (that would remain there the entire year, if she had anything to say about it).
"I think that's it - although I was thinking that maybe if getting that headband became too troublesome, I might pimp out my guitar - there is this bloody sweet style I might go for, very demonic... or just by it after I get that damn hairpiece, whichever I am in the mood for, you know?"

Hearing her friend speak as such about the same headband she intended to one day own, Ortensia laughed. "Looks like I won't have such an easy time accumulating enough to buy the headband either, eh?" But that was ok, Ortensia didn't mind. She wasn't as vain and didn't really care what she looked like, oftentimes remaining with the same appearence for quite some time. Though when it did change, it usually changed rather drastically.
For example, weeks ago she had blue hair and a high school uniform, as well as several head adornments and items in her hands. But now, she changed her hair and is dressed more girlishly than she herself actually is. Complete whims such as these were fun to carry out, though, and so whenever she felt the need to do as such, she didn't stop herself.

You can be a king or a street sweeper,"None of us will, love, none of us will..." Shi said in a sarcastic tone, taking a cigarette out of thin air and lighting it with her powers. She put the cigarette in her mouth, attempting to inhale the poisonous smoke (although not doing so great a job at it) and exhaled what little she mustered, holding the tobacco stick at her side. She barely breathed anymore, perhaps an effect of the necromancy (or being an elf), but whatever it was - she could hardly force her body to breathe in or out. None the less, she kept up her habit of smoking when she was getting annoyed with a situation to calm her nerves.
"Ye know something - Ra be damned that forsaken headband, I am getting myself the damned guitar," she announced, cackling to herself as she took another short breath of smoke into her decaying lungs. She looked down at Kaia, smirking a bit at a thought that came to her about the campus affairs. College life was a wild one, she couldn't deny that - and Halloween was coming up in the near future. No matter how old she may be, nothing could stop the young woman from dressing up (this time as an Ancient Goddess-Queen) and getting more coked up on sugar then most people could ever get on cocaine itself.
"Kaia darling, will you be joining me on my epic journey of faerie dust, cocoa beans, and artificial flavoring?"

You can be a king or a street sweeper,"Aye, and you know I have never cared if you don't like it," Shi said, in reply to both her comment on candy and on her smoking habit. Despite saying it, she used her magic to increase its burning speed so that there was nothing left, stomping out the flames with her heavy boots. She looked over Kaia's new attire, nodding at the intriguing change in attire before taking out another cigarette - this time, however, not raising it to her lips - but smashing it into the ground immediately, letting off a peculiar off purple smoke.
As the smoke dissipated, it was clear that Shi had done something to herself whilst in the indigo mists. She stood with a chain hovering around her usual skirt and a slight change in bottoms (they were all purple now - and an odd set of wings had sprouted from her ankles) while her top half had changed entirely. She was wearing a heavy metal top and a fishnet over it, the guitar she spoke of swung over her back along with her CoCo. She had gained some Nightmare-on-Elm-Street-esque gloves, a scrunched up bow, tinted sunglasses, a neck ribbon, and among the most peculiar of it all: a new set of teeth and ears.
"You, my dears, need to start dating shamans," she said, her voice still in its previous deepness, although losing some of its previous monotone in favor of a more sadistically gleeful sound. Shi touched her ears lightly, twitching her head a bit as she did at the new sensation of robotic ears and fiddled with them to see if they could do anything particularly interesting. She opened the pink and white bits apart, finding a pull-out cord ready on the inside for her use. In response, she merely laughed (which sounded and looked a lot more maniacal then before).
"Bloody brilliant, I think I'll just be uploading my classes from now on..."

Ortensia watched amusedly as her friends displayed their new wardrobes and kept silent about her own. She had been shopping one day and found what she thought were awesome pants, so she bought them before she realized she didn't have a shirt to go with them. So she bought that too.
It took her some thinking, but she finally decided to buy anklets, whether demonic or angelic. And since she was eyeing those demonic ankelts the past week and had more than enough gold...
"Kaia, I really love your new bag. How much did it cost you?", she inquired. She very rarely cared what others were wearing or otherwise adorning themselves with, but the bag her friend had (was it a bag? She wasn't even sure...) was an interesting one. And she still had quite a bit of gold left despite her recent shopping spree...

You can be a king or a street sweeper,Shinigami looked at Ortensia, curious as to what she was talking about before looking at Kaia's side - noting the bag. An interesting part of her new, contradictory, outfit - reminds her of something she had seen in the store once; although those were woofers that seemed to float behind you. In the end, she had bought a purple, star-filled scarf instead; but it was still very pretty. Leaning down a bit to look at it, she poked it with the tip of her nail and nodded to herself before turning back to their youngest friend.
"I think it is actually a microphone!"
Shi announced it with more joy then she should have had over a simple observation, but that didn't seem to matter to her. Her eyes were glazed over as she began speaking to herself - abruptly dropping into the water pathway beside them as her hair tie snapped. Pulling out another of her shamanized cigarettes, her clothes changed to fit the new watery setting better before she realized something shocking.
"Holy bloody hell, I have a lot of tails..."

[I'm going to use the views of Vampires from Twighlight. I hope that's alright]
Damean drove onto the campus of his new college. This wasn't just college, though. This was an opportunity for a fresh start. He had always been different at his old schools. Everybody knew he was strange.
The first strange happening he could recall was when he lived in Forks, Washington, when he was seven years old. His life was normal... mostly. It was normal on overcast days, anyhow. See, his parents never let him out in the sunlight. When it was bright out and all the other kids were playing, his parents kept him home, and if he had to be somewhere they would call in and tell "whom it may concern" that he was ill and could not get out of bed. But one day he snuck out of the house while both his parents were at work. It was slightly overcast, but heavy winds were quickly blowing the clouds away south. He was swimming with his friends and everything was fine. That is, until the sun came out. He couldn't understand why his friends were so afraid of him. They all ran away screaming. When he look at his reflection in the water he was almost blinded by a glorious light. When the sun hit his skin he sparkled like thousands of diamonds. He terrified and confused, ran home, sobbing in uncontrollable gasps. His parents came home to find him lying on the floor. When they calmed him down he asked what was wrong with him, eyes wide with fear. But they didn't tell him anything.
They moved the next week, to London. Of course it was another rainy place. Damean didn't have much trouble fitting in, but after what had happened in Forks, he was worried about what the other students would think of him. What if they'd heard? He only let himself get close to one person, a boy named Benji who was like Damean. Their parents had been friends for years, and it was Benji's parents who convinced his to chose London. After all, it was dark, it was safe. That's what his parents said, but he didn't understand. After a year Damean got more comfortable with his new life. He began enrolling in sports, but managed to keep his grades the best in almost all of his classes. But in eighth grade, in a football game, he tackled another boy. He didn't mean to kill him, it just happened. He hadn't even hit him that hard, and he had to have been almost twice Damean's size [he had always been much smaller than the other children]. He had noticed that he had somehow become much stronger in the past few years, but he merely thought it was just a part of growing up. Lately he had been breaking things he hadn't handled harshly, and once he broke a man's finger just by shaking his hand, but he hadn't expected this. After he had received the news that the boy didn't make it he suffered from a mental break down. He was only kept from school for a month, though, and is parents refused to move again. Unfortunately, Benji and his family moved away two years after the incident. Damean remained in London until the 10th grade. He was first in his class in every subject he took, but everybody hated him, and he kept to himself. That's when his father finally decided it was best best for him to move... again.
This time it was to a small Irish farm, away from everything. The school in the nearby town was small, and he noticed that the other students seemed as peculiar as he was. Despite their efforts to befriend him, he would only respond to them with short, polite answers and a sad smile. It was while he was at this school that he began to hear voices. They were quite at first, but they sounded familiar. As time went on they became more clear and he recognized them as the voices of the people around him, only their lips weren't moving. He then realized that he was hearing their thoughts! And he noticed that around particularly slower people that if he wished for them to calm down or even stand up for themselves, they would have a sudden change in them, as if their emotions were being bent to his will.
When he graduated High School - first in his class - his parents told him what he had been waiting to hear since his childhood: He was a vampire.
And now he sits in front of his new school, filled with others just a unique as himself, waiting for the impossible to happen.

You can be a king or a street sweeper,Shi flicked her tail in interest, sensing death in the air and sending her brain sparking with intrigue at the moving corpse. A vampire or a zombie, I am guessing, she thought, scanning her eyes over the entrance to see if anybody was having their brains eaten or other mass chaos being caused over a decaying corpse. Seeing none, she knew that there was a vampire on grounds, and grinned devilishly, looking down at her fins again with some interest. She wasn't sure what to be more intrigued with: a man who had arrived on campus who gives off an aura of death or the fact that she just sprouted fox tails and a dorsal fin. She looked back up at her friends, suddenly feeling quite short despite the fact that she usually towered over them (she was perpetually taller than Kaia - and while the same height as Ortensia, her boots tended to make her a bit taller).
"Once I am remedied of this particular problem, I think I have a new arrival to be meeting. My powers are going on the fritz because of him, they never act well to people who aren't one hundred percent amongst the living..."
Shi looked down at the water again, realizing how deep the pool-like sidewalk were. For some reason, she seemed to know how to swim with the strange shark-like fin, but that didn't mean she was comfortable with it. Eh, I guess I'll change back sooner or later.

Damean stepped out of the car and walked around back to the trunk. He pulled out two large identical suitcases. One contained his clothing and his CDs, along with a few choice books, the other holding dozens of vials filled with blood he retrieved from the butcher's before he left home [he only needed to drink once every couple of weeks, and he had taken an oath not to touch a human. Besides, who could tell what what was sentient or not around here]. The rest of his belongings had been sent ahead of him a week prior to today and were more likely than not sitting in boxes inside his dorm room.
He shouldered the luggage with ease and began to walk towards the main building when he noticed a group of girls standing on the walkway. They all seemed very... different? Who wasn't? He was slowly learning that it wasn't likely he'd meet any average human or animal for a long while. As he got closer to the group his steps slowed. He stopped just a few feet from them, blushed, and nodded. It wasn't exactly an attempt at conversation, but hey, it was more effort towards socializing then he had put forth in his previous years at school.
