I think this covers most of what I love best:
Sarcastic Anti-Hero Wizards Who Eventually Redeem Themselves Fantasy

Heh! Have you read The Dresden Files series by Jim Butcher, or the Nightside novels by Simon R. Green?

There's also a great story by Neil Gaimon about a drug that cures cancer and has the side offect of changing the person's sex, so obviously it becomes popular as a recreational drug. I wish it really existed.

I lOoOooOve Neil Gaiman heart Is this in a short story collection of some sort or what? I want to read, I want!

Yeah, I think it's in Smoke and Mirrors, though Fragile Things is also totally worth getting.

Then I'll just have to get both of them because Gaiman is the bestest. Um, best. Bad English major, bad! No using fake words... adorably... fake... wordsies!

I hope many of you have read The Sandman?

Many times. smile
have you ventured further into early-VERTIGO?
PostPosted: Fri May 11, 2007 2:00 pm

I ventured into some mini-series that I forget the names of now, some witch series recommended to me and... I think that's about it. I enjoyed Mr. Constantine's guest appearance in Sandman, so maybe I ought to check out the early Hellblazer stuff?

Oh, definately. Incidentally, did you all know Constantine's bi?

Or even better the Alan Moore Swamp Thing, which first gave us Connie and is very much the template for Sandman.

Once I've got time, I'm going to write a big ol' post recomending the Doom Patrol of that era to this thread. As the three main characters could all be considered Transgendered, but under three different definitions.

Knew about the Constantine thing, yep! But good to point that out.

I've always heard good things about Swamp Thing, especially with Moore writing it.
