"Same. Have you always been a part of it, or did you recieve an invite as I did?" Taking the initiative, Laylana sat down on a rock near Shard, not looking directly at the girl either. It was simply an unspoken rule that you act uncaring before really attempting to form a bond in these situations. Obviously, Shard understood the unspoken rules as well as Laylana did.

Shard glanced over at her from the corner of her eyes. A newcomer, huh? "I've been here since the exile." she said simply. The girl didn't speak much, and was usually cold towards other. But something made her want to talk with this girl. "I'm Shard, by the way." she added, deciding to name herself.

Knowing it was a serious step to reveal your identity, Laylana looked over and made eye contact with the girl, half-smiling in that way she had. "Laylana. Pleased to make your aquaintance. So, do these Rebels really stand against dragonriders? Or is that all some front to reinforce their own dragons as the best?"

Shard smirked, just a little, when they made eye contact. "They are fully against the Weyr. So, you haven't heard everything that happened here, then?" she asked with some surprise. She thought everyone around here knew. But, was she even from one of the holds on the island? If not, then she might not know then.

"I'm a Northerner, in case you couldn't tell by the accent," Laylana replied, her accent obviously slightly off from Shard's own. "Lemos Hold, by Telgar Weyr. All I was told was that there was a group known as Rebels who were against a southern Weyr and that I would be given my rightful chance at Impression." She shrugged gracefully and rearranged her skirts. "I thought on it and gave the man my decision."

As she drew, Al thought. How did that girl, know I was a girl? I didn't hear her dragon tell her anything, but I guess she could have shelded it. looking at the drawing, all focused on it. It was a picture of the mating flite that had happend before the murder. Gah! Why did I draw that?? I heard dragons, so it's not like I'm yearning to have one. Oh, confused! Al reached under her bed, and pulled out a dark brown bad. Reaching in it, she pulled out a bottle and cheked the lable. Uncorking it, she took a very small sip. Quickly corking it, she put it in the bag, and pushed it under the bed. She had just enough strangth to push her drawing out of the way before falling into a dreamless sleep.

Shard nodded. "Our Weyrwoman, Keli, thought of the idea for this new weyr. But she never got the credit she deserved. Everyone praised Recaina, instead of her. So she just killed Recaina, but she was exiled. We all went with her. And now she wants the weyr back. It is hers rightfully anyway." she explained.

Laylana looked surprised. "She just up and killed her?" She fell into silence, looking thoughtful. Trying to take back what was hers through deciet. I think I might cautiously respect this woman. "Huh. How did she kill her? Obviously it was too open, since she got caught at it."

Shard nodded. "It was. I don't know the details, but I heard she cut the weyrwoman's heart out. But you can't alwasy trust rumors, can you? All I know is she killed Recaina and was then kciked out." she said with a shrug.

"Shoulda used poison," Laylana muttered with a soft sigh. "Still, I am surprised that her dragon approved of such tactic. Aren't they normally supposed to be inheriently good, and controlling of their rider's... socially unacceptable behaviors?" She looked out at the grounds around the Weyr again.
(Okay, my final post for tonight, since it's midnight and I need sleep. I'll post a reply tomorrow, Ser! G'night!)

Shard leaned back, looking up at the sky. "Yeah, I suppose they usually are. But a twisted dragon for a twisted rider, right? But she still has my loyalty. She was in the right, and did what she felt was right, even if her methods were a bit extreme. And she probably does regret not using poison, but who can say? Maybe she enjoyed killing the woman. Who but she can say for sure?"

Laylana nodded in understanding and fell silent, letting them bask in the peace that came with lazing about with no worried over being discovered.
Finally Laylana tilted her head from side to side the crack her neck and then asked, "People around here seem to be getting restless. Are they more used to sticking jabs in the Weyr and Keli stopped them or something?"

Very observant, this Laylana was. "Yes, you are correct. We usually raid the near by holds, or the Weyr. But Keli stopped them. No one knows what's going on except for Keli and the riders she keeps closest to her, like Re'yin and a few others. But I expect something to happen very soon if Keli's smug smiles are anything to do on." she said.

"Re'yil!" Keli called. "RE'YIL!" Her high voice echoed down the stone 'hallway'. She sighed, she was really getting tired of camping out in the boonies so to speak. Alokith rumbled in amusement at her rider's thoughts.
"Quiet Alokith, you'll scare him off." Keli remarked sharply, but Alokith knew it was a joke.
I'll be quiet if you'll stop this foolishness about murdering Fiacha. She was your friend you know. Alokith chided, the words chafed at Keli's conscience, but she shrugged them off.
"I'll thank you not to mention that, you shiny lump of laziness." The Rebel Weyrwoman retorted and drummed her finger impatiently on the stone wall of their weyr. "Where in Faranth's name IS that man?"

Re'yil took a deep breath as Keli's voice echoed down the hall. He loved the woman, but she really could get annoying at times. Before she became too annoyed, he made his appearance. He walked down the hall quickly. "Yes, Keli?" he asked, looking up at her. If there was one thing he didn't like about Keli was the fact she was two inches taller than he was. Well, no one was perfect, but Keli was just right, despite her moods. He knew what she thought of him, but it didn't matter to him, not at all.
