C'nor bowed to the Weyrwoman and Queen. He turned and mounted Tenath again. They flew back up to the main level of the Weyr. C'nor dismounted and walked back into the Weyr. He walked into the Wingriders' common room to see if anyone was in there.

Necia was on edge.

Keli hadn't made trouble in a few days and she knew that it was only a matter of time before something happened, maybe something big. If she attacked the Weyr before the next Hatching and before the Candidates Impressed and learned to fight....

Don't think on it, beloved, Piroth commented from her position on the beach. It will only ruin your good mood here.

The two were on one of their many trips to the Southern Continent, but Vanecia knew that this could be the last one for a long time. Keli being silent was not something usual and she wanted to be at the Weyr if something happened.

You know me, Piroth. I'm afraid that I can't help being worried over the Rebels and their insane murderess of a leader.

Piroth sighed, knowing that her rider couldn't forget such an important topic, and merely closed her eyes, resting her head on her forepaws and enjoying the sun soaking into her vibrant red hide.

C'nor walked into the commonroom and found it empty. Tenath, could you please ask the wingriders of assemble here as soon as possible?

Alright. replied the bronze, relaying the message to the wingriders' dragons.

Selene and the other candidates who had finished their chores were outside relaxing. It was a nice change from being stuck in the Weyr where tension and uncertainty ran high. She took a deep breath of the fresh air, and began to wander amongst the others.

-- A Grand Entrance --

A shoddy, bedraggled looking soul made his way into the Weyr, appearing from the great tunnel that led straight into the bowl. His clothes were a mess, and his dark hair was sticky from sea salt and sand. Dark caramel skin is mottled with dirt and sand, and his clothes.. tatters. Nevertheless, he held himself with a dignity that few could muster in his position, nothing but the rags on his back coming along with him, well, save for the dear, prim little green firelizard upon his shoulder.

"Home. Home is where the heart is eh? Well, it seems my heart leads me to this place once more." It was meant for his own ears to hear, but his firelizard responded with a nervous croon, looking around at dragons and people with suspicion and anxiety. A hand, relatively clean compared to the rest of him, was brought up to console the creature. "Don't worry, Pookie-wookie. It can't be worse than the reaction we recieved at those holds." The creature shivered. Those reactions weren't good at all though! Though the firelizard was nervous, the young man was eerily calm. He, Devayn, had finally reached Shining Heights. There was no turning back now.

Someone is there.

Wave looked down at the Bowl to see one, lone figure with a Green firelizard perched upon his shoulder. But what was odd was the condition he seemed to be in. He was quite dirty. "Ok, Trementh, let's go down and find out who he is." Wave quickly jumped onto her Scarlet and the two flew to the Bowl, Trementh landed quite near the boy, enough so that his clothes and hair were messed up from the wind of her landing. Wave then strode right up to him, hands on her hips. He looked almost her age, she thought, thens hook her head. "Who are you and what are you doing here?" she questioned, frowning.

C'nor sighed as he left the common room. That's all settled. he thought. He looked down into the Bowl and noticed Wave and her dragon down there talking to an unfamiliar person. Getting on Tenath, C'nor glides down there. "Is there a problem?" he asked polietly.

"Oh yes, we are quite welcoming, aren't we?" A bit of a grin played across his features, but he regained a more serious.. if not aloof composure. "Devayn, son of Deila and V'nai." Heh, see if 'those' names ring a bell, why doncha? "As for why I am here, maybe for a bit of hospitality, some food, clothes, shelter, shells, maybe even a place to live." He looked around, as if seeing it for the first time. "This place seemed.. more daunting when I was younger. It's been about.. five turns now?"

The little green on his shoulder was trembling madly, looking up at the potentially irate scarlet. Yes, she had a few run ins with those in the past, and unlike dragons, firelizards had impeccable memory. Friends. That mental word had saved both of their skins quite a few times. Yes, leave it to the firelizard to maintain the peace.

C'nor looked at the boy for a moment. "Ah yes, I remember you now. So, you have decided to come back? Good deal. We will see to it that you are provided with what you need, and if you wish to try to Impress at the next Hatching, you can stay in the candidates' barracks."

Wave's eyes widened a trifle as he announced who his parents had been. So, he had beena Rebel? Then why was he here now, of all times, when the raids had quit?

His firelizard says that they are friends. She does not lie, and I can feel no deceit from the boy, either.

Wave pursed her lips together. What to do? She looked back as she heard another. "Oh, C'nor. No, no problem here. Just trying to decide about this gut here. Do you think I should tell the Weyrwoman?" she asked him. Well, he had been a dragonrider much longer than she had, so why not ask him?

Devayn quirked a brow at the both of them, as if contemplating his next move. "Will I not be accepted because of my lineage?" Though he did not seem to become flustered in any way, his voice held a hint of challenge. "But I would like to see your Weyrwoman. I suppose if I gain her good favor then nothing else matters, right?" Another lazy look would be given toward those around him. For once, his smirk turned into more of a smile as he looked toward the dragons. "Well, I see no difference between Rebel dragons and yours. I suppose their boasts held no water."

Wave looked back at Devayn. "Well, it isn't my place to say whether or not you stay. That's always been left up to the Weyrwoman." she said, sniffing her disapproval of his other comment. "Rebels bragging that they're dragons are better, eh? The ones that left were always arrogant. The whole lot of them. Anyway, I think the Weyrwoman is still at the Lake. I'll just take you there myself. Just climb up on Trementh and I'll take you to her." she told him.

"A first class ride to the Weyrwoman. I retract my sarcastic comment to your hospitality then." Though the words were arrogant, that tone didn't quite reach his words or his smile. Almost unsurely, he stepped toward the scarlet. He had heard and seen how their tempers can flare, and though he was seemingly arrogant, he was not particularly stupid. Would you allow me aboard, Trementh? It was second nature for him to ask such things of dragons. He had been quite used to doing so back when he lived with the rebels.

Pookie, the tiny little green that had been perched on his shoulder before, was now gone. She had never liked being aboard a dragon, much less temperamental scarlets.

C'nor nods. "You do that. Would you like me to accompany you, for a second opinion, or do you want to do this on your own?"

How else are you going to get to the Lake without walking the whole way?

Wave grinned when she heard Trementh speak. The boy must've said something to her, though she hadn't heard him say anything. And why Trementh would choose to respond to him was beyond her. She looked to C'nor. "It's your decision. Come if you want to." she said before striding to Trementh, waiting for Devayn to step up and get himself settled.
