I.Am Ebony the Peacian Vampire I totally agree with the three of you above me.
Really, I don't see how personhood would be nonexistant in one situation and existant in another. Which is why I'm pro-life. But, well, wow. This is plain hipocrisy.
How does being "wanted" make a fetus worth more than another?
That's like a geek/nerd committing the same crime as a popular kid, but only the geek/nerd goes to a juvenile detention center. Wtf. Or like a Pro-Choicer and a Pro-Lifer doing the exact same thing in a hypothetical debate guild, and only the Pro-Lifer being banned, while the Pro-Choicers go on to laugh about how the Pro-Lifer got banned. ninja Neways, yeah. I totally agree with what everyone's said. xd It either has value or it doesn't; You can't say, "Well, it's valuable in this case, but not in this case." On the other hand, much as it pains me to admit, there is something to the argument. I like chocolate, so if you give me chocolate, it has value to me and it's good. But say someone else doesn't like chocolate. If you give it to them, it really doesn't have value and isn't good (Or, if they are lactose intolerant, it could even be bad.) But it doesn't change that it's a gift of chocolate. Take it or leave it, someone gave it to you, and even if you don't accept it, it's a gift, and it's exactly the same as the other bar of chocolate given to someone who wants it. There is a base value on everything. Chocolate is a food. Ronald McDonald is a clown. Pink is a color. Whether or not you like these things doesn't change the base value. It changes the personal value. A fetus is a... This ruling that these killers can be tried for murder makes no sense, because while abortion is legal, it means some people are being killed and others aren't. If no one is killed, how can it be tried as murder? If the personal value matters, then someone shooting his daughter because he doesn't like her wouldn't get in as much trouble as a man who shoots someone else's daughter. It doesn't work that way. Murder is not a name put on a crime in order to placate the survivors. It's a name that describes killing a person in an unlawful manner, no matter how wanted or valued that person was. Now does this ruling that it's murder to kill a woman's wanted fetus mean that the unborn are people in the eyes of the law? That abortion is killing a person, but it's legal so it's okay to do? Either they're both people or neither one is a person. If a fetus is not a person, there is no murder. If a fetus is a person, then there is state-sanctioned killing of legal persons; however, even if they are people, they obviously don't have the right to live (or abortion wouldn't be legal). If that's the case, how is it murder to kill someone who has no right to be alive anyway? The only rights you're violating are the rights of the mother. It's very late and I may have this (and everything I've written, really) wrong, but it seems to me like this law won't last long because men will try to apply it to their partners having abortions, and eventually they might win.

divineseraph i love that logic. it would make them less pretty. nice. anyone who would kill their own child loses all desirablity in my eyes. If I were a man, you know who I would consider one of the most attractive women in the world? Not Britney Spears, not the latest Playboy Bunny, not Madonna. No, I would cast my vote for Michelle Duggar. As a woman, I have nothing but respect and deep admiration for her.

ah, i don't find those people beautiful, really... they're just... fake. plastic and mindlessness.
i would like someone who is pretty, naturally pretty, not cosmetic fake boobs pretty. i would like someone pro-life, who wouldn't kill their child or accept the killing of children, someone who's sweet and sensitive. and i'm so lucky to have found her! heart
but enough filling this page with mushiness xd
i agree entirely with Lyme- it's either all or nothing. it's either a person or it's not. that, or we could have selective killings based on who we don't want to consider human (aside from abortion of course)- jews? nah. blacks? not human enough for me. red-heads? nope, they're more like monkeys, i think.
DISCLAIMER- i don't think those things, in case it's late or something, i was just stating that every group could be picked to be killed if personhood is really so fleeting.

And you guys are very lucky, divine. You've both found quality people. I'm lucky too, but I mean, I'm really happy for you guys.

O_o I have a feeling my last post was misunderstood. I am female, not male. I have never met Michelle Duggar, only seen TV specials about her and her family. If anyone wants to know more about her: http://www.duggarfamily.com/photos.html
