“That must’ve been interesting,” Telyn laughed at the idea of having a nice civil little chat while sparring. It just seemed… well… absurd to her. But, she could imagine it happening, especially if Brychan was in the picture. He really was oddly… damn. What was the word? Nice? Sweet? No… those weren’t the right words. They described Brychan accurately, true, but they still weren’t the right ones. She should have been at the fight, if only to watch two handsome stags spar. That was always a sight worth seeing.

“Hm? I’m fine, Brychan.” He really was such a sweetheart, always worrying about everyone else. “I simply didn’t get enough sleep last night, I suppose. It happens.” Or it was just Anlach getting to her. It was a tiring time for everyone, even the hinds.

She felt that she should have added something else, perhaps some snappy retort about Brychan’s own health. Oddly enough, she didn’t feel compelled to say anything snarky. Maybe she really was ill…

Brychan's opinion was similar to Rhomae's and he told Fell Lore so. Sparring and fighting for mates was simply the way of herla life, it had to be done. Rarely did stags every get seriously injured, and if they did... then it was taken too far. Of course... there was always the stories of the past... of Rannoch and Sggor. That was violent... but such things never happened anymore, thankfully.

The stag didn't look entirely convinced at Telyn's words...but he let it be. The starry pelted male bobbing his head in a nod, "Alright... if you say so." He didn't want to press the matter and get her angry, but he was concerned. He would keep an eye on her, just in case. It could just be the Anlach season getting to her.. who knew. A glance was given toward Loreena. She was being rather quiet... but maybe it was just due to melancholy over his loss... who knows.

Blue gaze turned to look out over the herd, "Anlach seems to be coming to an end" he observed casually. He chuckled and looked back to them, "I suppose we'll have to go our seperate ways soon." That was also the herla way. Hinds and stags were seperated for the most part during the off season. It did sadden him though, he really did enjoy their company.

“Indeed,” Telyn said easily, wondering if she was supposed to feel this sorry about Anlach ending and leaving the harem behind. Of course, they would still see each other in the herd. She would probably go out of her way to seek out the starry-pelted stag to bother him for more stories if she had the free time since he had a lot to share. And she would stay in contact with Rhomae and Loreena. Well, definitely Rhomae anyway; she had a feeling it would be tricky to find the far shier hind if she didn’t want to be found and, chances are, she didn’t want to be found very often.

And if there were fawns and calves… Telyn hesitated at that thought. It was a distinct possibility, she had to admit that, but she couldn’t really imagine herself with one or two little deer under-hoof. “Anlach is ending, but I don’t see why we can’t spend any time together at all. Maybe I’m going soft, but I’m actually getting used to all of you.”

She tried keeping her words casual and tinged with a sort of indifference. For some reason, though, she actually felt truly depressed at the thought of Anlach ending.

She could come and bother him for stories as much as she wanted, Brychan wouldn't mind. He would be happy to see her if anything, and if there would be fawns or calves, the Outrider would try his best to be there for the births.

What if there was to be offspring? Was he really ready to be a father? Not that he would play much of a part in actually raising them. He actually looked forward to have sons and daughters. If they were to be bucks, undoubtably they would look up to him and seek advice. He hoped he would be able to give them the wisdom they would need... and to any does as well.

Brychan was actually touched by Telyn's words. It seems that the lot of them have grown rather close during this time. "I hope we can... although it'll be easier among the three of you. I will be around, so any of you can come visit if you like." He might also seek them out from time to time... just to check up on them and such. But for the most part... it was his place, to keep his distance.

Rhomae chuckled softly. "Used to us, hmm? I'm flattered."

Her tone was light and playful, a slight smile upon her maw. The ending of Anlach wasn't that big of a deal to her, except for the fact that Brychan would not be as accessible. He would be around, as he said, but...it would not be the same.

"Perhaps we could just permanently visit you until next Anlach." she suggested, nudging him affectionately. The hind attempted to ignore Telyn's rather sad attempt at hiding the fact that someone was different. She spoke well enough, but the look in her eye told otherwise. Mmmm, perhaps the two would need to talk later. It would be a light-hearted talk. Rhomae was in a good mood.

Say, was it just Telyn’s imagination, or was she getting a little chubby around the middle? At the thought, the gray hind looked at her stomach intently, trying to tell herself that she was just imagining things. She had never had to worry about her weight before, being naturally svelte, even for a deer. She shook her head and turned her attention back to what was at hand. Or, more accurately, at hoof.

“Ah, but we would be such a distraction, Rhomae. And not just for Brychan. We would distract all the Outriders.” Indeed, who wouldn’t want a lovely trio like Telyn, Rhomae, and Loreena in their harem?

Well, maybe they would leave out Telyn unless they really liked the feisty type of hind. There were quite a few who did. Brychan certainly didn’t seem to mind Telyn’s snarky behavior.

Again he took on that cutely dumbfounded look. Visit him permanently until next Anlach? He was sure that the Outriders and the rest of the herd would have quite a few things to say about that. He loved all three of them.. but to have them around permanently might not be good for his health or reputation.

"You three certainly can be distracting, I'll admit... in a good way of course." He chuckled lightly, not at all minding their distractions really. He enjoyed their company immensely.. and he had to wonder why he didn't form himself a harem in his earlier years. Well.. there had been reasons, but he certainly could have done with the company.

the smile she wore now was a true one, it help greatly to see the others in good spirits, and she was relived that hers were returning.
"Perhaps after we have aged, and done our part for this Herd, we can all settle down and tell stories to the fawn and Calf, and spend as much time as well like with one another" once again, her dreamer mind let its self wander. Saying something she was sure was silly, but being fond of the idea nonetheless.

Rhomae chuckled at both the reaction of Telyn and the reaction of Brychan. "I was just joking, you know."

Rhomae pawed the ground a little, smiling at Loreena. Idealistic, perhaps? It was indeed a nice thought. She loved the members of her harem, and she loved Brychan. The future could be very bright for the four of them, and possibly their story could end in such a scenario. However..it was still idealistic. A lot could happen between now and when their part in the herd was done.

"Well, I'm sure we will visit you much, regardless. We can't resist those cute faces of yours."

“You mean be like Storytellers, Loreena?” Telyn asked curiously. She hadn’t thought of Loreena as that type, but she supposed it was possible. Just about anything was, really. For a little while, she had been hoping to find some sort of similarity between herself and the red hind, if only for the sake of conversation. Actually, she had pretty much given up on such a thing since Loreena was so… well… Loreena. There was simply no word that could describe her better than her own name.

It was a nice thought though. She rather liked the idea of spending her older years as a Storyteller, relating exciting adventures to the younger generations.

“We’ll at least try to visit you, Brychan. There’s no reason why all contact has to be shut off between us just because Anlach is nearly over…”

Little did the gray hind know, but Telyn wouldn’t be up for traveling around much longer.

An amused smirk was tossed to Rhomae as she indicated that she was only joking. He had known that... but even so. XD

Next, he quietly pondered Loreena's words... simply unable to fathom that far ahead in his life. "Hm... I don't know what I'll do with myself when I get that old... Herne permitting of course." Not many deer really survived to advanced age. Predators usually get most deer before they get that far in life. Brychan wouldn't mind dying to protect his herd.... although he didn't want to die prematurely either.

"Of course I would like to have you ladies visit me every once in awhile. If my duties allow it... I'll try to visit all of you as well." He then paused as a thought came to mind, "What are you planning to do after Anlach anyway?" Would all three of them stick together or go their seperate ways until next Anlach?
PostPosted: Sat Apr 07, 2007 7:14 pm

“After Anlach? I’m not sure what I’ll do…” most likely just gather up other like-minded hinds and work out an escape route. Brychan already knew about that, of course, as did Rhomae. Loreena didn’t know yet, mostly because Telyn didn’t think she would be interested. She seemed like the sort who would run off to the nearest Outrider and let him know at least two hinds were planning a dastardly escape. It was probably unfair to think this of her as Telyn didn’t even know her, but she couldn’t help it.

“I suppose I’ll go back to what it was that I did before.” Which was basically just walk around and bother Outriders for stories of being an Outrider. Of course, now she had a favorite Outrider to bother. Oh, and she would reserve at least a little time to watch any new mothers. Babies were so cute.

Rhomae's vision fell to the earth as contemplation entered her features. Well...she knew that Telyn and her would end up going off at some point - that's just how it was going to be, or at least that's the feeling she got. But should that not happen, or better yet - after it happened...well, Rhomae wasn't really sure. She enjoyed her solitude, but she also enjoyed her new friends. Of course, Rhomae could get along with nearly any hind on some level, so...hmm. Telyn's idea entertained her - back to what she had previously been doing? Well, for Rhomae, that was pondering how to get out of the dimwitted gaze of another stag. Not so much of a problem anymore.

"I will base my actions on the actions of my fellow hinds." she stated quietly, inclining her head t'ward both Telyn and Loreena. More t'wards Telyn, only because it would take a little longer to crack Loreena out of her shell. Perhaps that could be her project during the time between now and next Anlach.

How very... cryptic of the both of them. A glance was given to Loreena... Ah... it seems that the other two hadn't informed her of their plans. "I see..." he said quietly, just the slightest hint of disapproval in his voice... but he supposed he could understand. He just hoped that they didn't get too carried away with their plans. After all.. if too many hinds wandered off... it would be noticed. The more hinds missing.. the less it would be appreciated he was sure.

He tried to put those thoughts out of his mind and instead tried to smile. "Hopefully the herd will be blessed with many younglings this year." Ah yes... try to change the subject to something a bit more positive. Although he was quietly hoping that he would actually be a father this year, though atleast one of the hinds standing before him.

still feeling a little silly about sharing the bit of hopeful thinking about the far future, Loreena considered the next question. this one of cource didn't take long to figure out. if she were to be lucky enough to mother young this year.
"I hope for young" she said "but if that does not work out this Anlach, then Perhaps one of the other Hind would permit me to play with there little ones.

she of cource did not know any sort of plan from her fellow harem sisters. she assumed they wanted the kind of life she planed on living.
she was looking forward to having two close friends around now, spending time with them made the end of Anlach seem bearable. though she would miss having Brychan around as much.
