Ah, I had to read The Count of Monte Cristo over the summer for Honors English 9. But I was so freaked out about finishing it and the journal I had to do, I didn't pay much attention. ^^; Throughout class, when my teacher was explaining parts or retelling them, it was if she was talking about a different book. ^^;;;

lol, that great whee But if you like a nice action, Intrigue type book (its something i'm sure hitchcock would like to make a movie out of) then you might consider reading it again.
and by the way, the movie sucked.... everything about it sucked... i would sue them if i could sue someone for totaly ruining a book...

Ah, yes, I saw the movie. I read enough of the book to know that they messed up the movie.
I want to see the Battle Royale movie, but it's so violent... I can't handle gore. But I want to see it so badly! DX It's driving me crazy.

Battle Royale is about a boy named Shuya in 1997 Japan. World War II caused Japan to go back into isolation, forming a large nation called Great Eastern Asia. Shuya likes rock music, something that is banned in Japan, and used to play on the baseball team of his junior high school. One day, when his class is supposedly going on a field trip, the bus is filled with a gas that makes them fall asleep. When the class wakes up, they find themselves stuck on an abadoned island. It turns out they were chosen for a game called The Program, where a third year middle school class (9th grade equivalent, but they're all 15) is chosen to fight each other until only one is left standing.
It's incredibly violent (Megumi gets stabbed through the neck with a sickle!) but addicting. biggrin You can buy it from Viz, at Borders or Barnes and Noble. ^-^
