Haha. Easier said than done, but we are working on that. If you have any friends on Gaia that are also into RPing you're more than welcome to invite them to join (we even have a contest going for that purpose on the main forum).
That seems kinda hard though. The contest, I mean.
What if the person doesn't say you referred them when they join?
I think it would be easier if you told people to post a list of RPers and then let the crew invite them.
2 reasons we don't do it that way:
1. More work for the crew who already has their hands full.
2. Less chance the referred person would actually join because it's less personal to be invited by someone they don't know.
The crew not only have their hands full running the forums and creating new content for our members, but also with our own recruitment efforts. Regarding my second point, the purpose of referring a friend is that they are someone you know or at least know are into RPing, which increases the chances that person will join if the invite comes from someone who's simply a member of the guild, not crew. It's called "word of mouth" advertisement, which is one of the best kinds. The purpose of the contest is to reward our members who do make the effort to get other Gaians to join our fine guild. If for some reason they don't say you referred them, you're more than welcome to bring this up to any crew member, who can find out if that's the case, but please don't let that make you lazy, please continue to advise each referral to mention you when they join in either the Join comment box, or in their audition.
What I can do to make it easier for everyone is post some code that you can paste into your invite PM to whoever you're trying to recruit so the recipient will have a link directly to the guild, to make it easier for them as well. Once my guild banner contest finishes up (in just a couple more weeks), we'll also have access to some excellent banners that anyone can use in their signature or guild ads to also help promote the guild. Again, as long as they say they heard about the guild from you, you get the referral rewards. It doesn't matter if they saw a banner in your signature, or a thread you made, or in a PM. (So you may want to add "mention my name when you join!" to your signature if you use one of our banners in your sig.
