Well, I'd like to think I'm sane, but apparently I'm a sociopath....So...As long as I'm out here, I'm sane.
Also, sanity is the governments idea of how the Super-Ego should be working. If it isn't working well, then you "don't" have a conscience/Super-ego.
*shrug*

Well... maybe some of them are.
But they only have a different way of thinking.
So wouldn't a genius be considered insane?
Genius' aren't exactly smart, they just can think in various points and views.

Yeah, I guess some of them might be considered insane, but... technically, if geniuses are people who rank high in IQ (or intelligence), and high IQ is somewhat revered in society, it wouldn't really make sense to call them insane. In terms of functionality, the way geniuses think and process information may be more efficient (by social standards), and therefore wouldn't be considered insane. I think we're looking for a different term.. like 'abnormal'? But then like someone said, I guess the insane are sane and the sane are insane. xp

But then like someone said, I guess the insane are sane and the sane are insane. xp I like what you were saying about the processing of information. For example, if im really out of it one day, people could look at me, and listen to the way that im talking, they think I could actually be insiane if they didn't know I was out of it. But yet, even though im out of it, I still think, understand, and notice some of the smallest, and most easily unnoticed things. I could tell my freinds one thing, and they would't understand, but after whatever it was happens, they finally clue in to it. Then when they completely isten to me, without thinking twice, they 100% understand what im saying. This truely is an interesting conversation, matter fact, its been the only fullfuling conversation I've had with anybody over the past 5 years. Its always good to look at scenarious like this one in depth to try to comprehend and understand, and even discuss about what we think is right and wrong, smart and stupid, sane and insane.

You don't have to have a high IQ to be considered a genius. As I said, it's thinking in different points of view. Such as, can you think or see in your mind, looking up at the stars and down at the city at the same time. Quite difficult. A genius can do this, but of course in a higher extent. So really, you don't have to be brilliant to be a genius, but I guess in a way it is brilliantcy. See the kind of genius' I speak of, are not ones I believe you are thinking of. There is two kinds. Yours, is one exceptionally smart person. Mine, someone who cannot be ranked. Some crazy people are crazy. But others, are just indifferet, and that people fear. They can be quite smart, just not the way others are use to.

Oh, I think I see what you're both saying...
Yeah, I guess I need to get my head outside of the textbook definitions. sweatdrop I suppose there are also those who do exceptionally well in sports, some are musical geniuses, others have high survival instincts; but these people don't necessarily have high IQ.
Haha, glad you enjoyed the conversation. xp I can't speak from experience, so all I can give is my perspective.
In efficient information processing, I sorta also meant that geniuses are probably able to look at things from different angles, and gain more in understanding, than the norm. That's pretty similar to Jelly Bean's genius, but I placed more emphasis on academic intelligence. sweatdrop
That was a pretty good example, actually. ^^

NeroDrago VardekCrom well there is a saying that goes "its normal not to be normal, and not normal to be normal". so one must be insane if one is sane and sane if one is insane... it sounded better in my head... sorry... sweatdrop thats a good point and it makes sense so don't worry lol yay blaugh I make sense

I get what you're all saying, but you're taking insanity to the wrong levels. Look at me, I'm insane...my friends remind me all the time...and I say things that would probably make you watch me for the rest of your life, hoping you'd never see me with a knife.
Insanity isn't just a difference of thinking, it's when one's mind is split from reality. Their brain goes into the abnormal, and their whole being is transformed into something to better suit themselves. In other words, they fall off their rocker and in order to adapt they start swimming accrost the floor. Normal individuals would get back up and either sit back down or walk away, but they swim on the hard floor to try and survive. Yes, insane individuals can be considered geniuses, but it doesn't mean geniuses are insane.
But let's also remember that insane and crazy are two different things. Insane would be to swim acrost the floor, crazy would be to take out a knife and start cutting people over the fact you fell. Crazy is basically the next level of insanity, but they are still two completely different things. I think I might be leaning towards crazy, but I probably won't ever do anything crazy, so physically I'm just insane.
Finally, there are different values of insanity. First there is the mental perception of oneself. When you look into yourself and ask if you are insane, that is asking yourself what your norm is, so it can never be yes. When society looks at you and claims you to be insane, that is because you are not in the normal sence of things. Those are two differences of mental insanity and being mental.
Oh, and to the guy who made the first post. Nothing could just pop in from nothingness, yes, but how do you explain that there were ever even atoms to begin the big bang in the first place? Sure, a god couldn't just appear, but neither could matter!
