Omnileech Scott Ritter Omnileech The victors are rarely held to the standards they set. Otherwise you'd see a lot of Americans on trial for war crimes. Like who people from Abu-Grab were already tried the administration didn't do anything technically illegal so please expound on your theory, I'm dieing to hear it Water boarding isn't illegal? Techniques listed as torture from IGOs aren't illegal? Well, only if the US says they aren't, right? If the US was really beholden to international law then they wouldn't be able to define what is torture and what's not. The use of loud sounds to prevent sleep and disrupt concentration is considered torture yet we're doing that. Beating of prisoners is torture. Malnourishing prisoners is torture. I forget the name but there was a guy who was picked up the US for having a similar name to a known terrorist and he was held for years, I think he was a german citizen on vacation. Anyways he was picked up, sent to a secret prison and then they let him go if he promised not to talk about anything that happened. He did and they dropped him off in some country he had never been in and left on his own to return home. His wife thought he had deserted her and tests on him show he was malnourished. It was in the news about a month or two ago. That'd be something we'd have charges for. this isn't an argument for the united states but honestly do you think that we are the only country under the GC and part of the UN that do that I happen to know that we are not even close to the worst have you ever been to Italy? Have you ever heard what they do in prisons THERE?

Omnileech Malnourishing prisoners is torture. I forget the name but there was a guy who was picked up the US for having a similar name to a known terrorist and he was held for years, I think he was a german citizen on vacation. Anyways he was picked up, sent to a secret prison and then they let him go if he promised not to talk about anything that happened. He did and they dropped him off in some country he had never been in and left on his own to return home. His wife thought he had deserted her and tests on him show he was malnourished. It was in the news about a month or two ago. That'd be something we'd have charges for. I am not trying to make that argument i am trying to say that you should complain about torture not how bad the US is because of it if you truly feel that two wrongs don't make a right then stop complaining about one country for something almost all countries do

"Part of a successful war on terror is for the United States of America to be able to conduct operations, all aimed at protecting the American people, covertly." That says that he won't discuss it, not that they don't exist and the ACLU guy that says relocation violates "Universal" human rights is not talking about international law he is propagating the ACLU's view of human rights you could ask a hundred different human rights groups and get a hundred different views EnglandEnglish inhuman treatment EuropeThis is more general but covers most of Europe

(London, June 24, 2004)—The British government’s indefinite detention of foreign terrorism suspects has undermined human rights protections in Britain and impeded the development of an effective counterterrorism strategy, Human Rights Watch said in a briefing paper released today.
A dozen men are currently indefinitely detained without trial in maximum security facilities under the Anti-Terrorism Crime and Security Act, which the British Parliament passed in the wake of the September 11 attacks in the United States. Eight have been in detention since December 2001. None of the men have been charged with a crime. They have no expectation of release.
The briefing paper details how indefinite detention has seriously damaged the mental and physical health of the detainees. At the same time, it has harmed race and community relations and undermined the willingness of Muslims in the United Kingdom to cooperate with the police and security services. The policy has also impeded the development of a counterterrorism strategy that effectively addresses the full range of threats faced by the United Kingdom.

As i see it George Bush was correct, Iran, Iraq and North Korea is the Axis of Evil, Iraq poeses like Facist Italy due to Dictatorship, Iran is Nazi Germany, because Iran actually means "Land of the Aryans", they changed into that, instead of Perisa, in the 1930's, yet they are somehow influence by the third reich, but in Muslim and Democratic way. As North Korea Poses as Imperial Japan.
Also as i see it we are stuck between to choices for this Iran Crisis, Just do one more fight, just simply Air Strike all the Nucler "Energy" Plants, which are actually Weapon plants, then tank throught them, or just sit and watch them keep making bombs, as rest of the Middle east looks at Iran and request Iran to stop or they will use force, and then Iran Launches its nuke on them and a big Nasty Nuclear war will Occur, and like WWI & WWII, we will pulled into this mess, repeating History, in a Ignorant Matter.
