Punk525 The anime is different from the manga I haven't watched all the anime yet but I have read all the manga that are out. Mya! heart I agree. I have read up to volume 12, but i don't know if there are anymore out. I watch and currently own all four disks that have come out. 3nodding sad they need to make more!

I've watched all the anime and have read up to volume 21 right now. Waiting for 12 more days for the next chapter to come out. ^^ I get the mag from japan so I'm up to date with it.

In which case they would have to change the story (not to mention little things like when Kyo transforms, Yuki isn't there in the manga etc) the manga I only have up to book 9, and for those of you who don't know there are over 22 books. hhhhhhhhooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooly crud!!!!!! only 13 have come out in america!!!!!!!!!! somebody said that you could buy them from japan, but i have no idea how to do that, and wouldn't it be in japanise!?!?!?!?!

There aren't over 22 books. Hakuensha is just about the publish vol 19 and in Hana to Yume we're up to vol 21 the next chapter marks the start of 22 the final volume. You can buy the Hakuensha published manga as well as Hana to Yume on Akadot.

The ending of the anime isn't part of Fruits Basket. It was added in as some crap closure. You've got to read the manga to finish the story. Remember the anime is only a teaser, it hasn't got an actual end becuase it was a way to get people onto the manga.

Really it wasn't that effective. It only worked on the people who'd never seen Fruits Basket before. The majority of Japanese fans who alreaady liked the manga hated the anime because it was so childish compared to the dark manga.
It only worked so well in western places because it was released in oct 02 and the manga then followed in feb 04

I've seen the entire anime in japanese...but haven't been able to read the manga yet...I heard that there are actually two more characters in the manga than in the anime! (The last two Jyunichi..I think it is the chicken and horse maybe?)
