ive beaten this game about 3 times... dont laugh at me, and each time thru i wanted to use a new set of characters but i always ended up with the same team of Zidane Eiko Garnet Freya.... i know i know double healer/smn wtf!>? i liked the combination, summoning magic did great... always had phoenix with eiko, bahamut did most dmg for garnet.. zidane always put out a lot of dmg per turn with lot of health... and i only used freya over steiner becuz she can play without vivi, sword magic was about all steiner could do without having some of the best swords in the game for all the end game sword techs...good points about this team is that u get a lot of buffs up fast.. can always keep m8s clear of states effects, good damage with zidane, good supporting abilities with freya... only downfall is not having vivi's insane blm dmg which i hated but i tend to like safety over quick kills.

Only 3 times? I'm starting my 13th time.
But now in te original topic:
The party you use depends in your strategy, my first 3 times I used Zidane, Amarant, Dagger and Eiko, now I use Zidane, Amarant, Dagger and Steiner because: Zidane steals (and raises the Thievery damage), Amarant uses Chakra, attack or No Mercy and when in trance No Mercy (9999 to all enemies), Dagger only uses summons or heals status ailments (Auto-Regen and Auto-Haste do some miracles) and Steiner uses Climazzard since it deals the same damage as shock but for all enemies and costs lees MP, or Darkside (one of the Miracles of Auto-Regen)

Kirei Yosei I used Zidane, Garnet, Vivi, and Freya. They owned. Zidane took the damage and did alot of damage, Garnet used cure on the rest to keep everyone alive, Vivi also dealed damage, I liked Freya because she also did alot of damage, and she rarely ever got attacked, and while she was up, about to use spear, she couldn't get any damage done to her. I secodn that! Whoot!

i only beat the game once, but that's because i don't actually have it. my final team consisted of Zidane, Garnet, Freya, and Eiko. all of them were capable of pilin' on the damage, but Garnet and Eiko alternated between damage and healing. i just kept Freya and Zidane on the constant offensive, dealin' the damage left and right...

vivi is a must. you need rusty! his more powerfull attacks are 9999 just like vivi! now after that its really up to who you work better with. now eiko or garnett is a must you need to them keep people working right. now you dont need to use them alot of you prepare well. now you can use zidane or Amarant. they hit okay but Amarant can cure a lil bit of mp and zidane can bring everyone back if the sh*t hits the fan. 2 attack and 2 keep things from going to hell. take your time and dont freak out. gain as much exp as you can it just makes it easy later in the game. well rush till you get rusty's sword then take your time lol

I normally use Zidane Garnet Vivi, an Steiner or Amarant, and ocassionally Freya mrgreen

My last gameplay I used.
Zidane
Vivi
Siren (garnet)
Stiener
Vivi can attack all targets with his magic wee staus effects rock too
Siren (garnet) I love sumoning and its useful especially ones like carbuncle
Zidane attacker with sweet trance attacks.
Steiner His techniques take massive Hp even without trance.

I had more of a magic party. (For the first time in any game of mine! =O)
Zidane
Dagger
Vivi
Quina
Yeah I used Quina, but she was really strong and had really powerful magic. Plus she can heal quite a bit too. It actually saved my life with the random last boss. He/She was the only one that survived, and with one final attack, I won. =]

Zidane, Garnet, Steiner, and Amarant. Zidane's thievery is a must at max damage for the last secret bosses. Garnet has the unlimited summoning power during her trance...just use Bahamut once and then leave her in defnding mode...heal when needed. Steiner's Shock and Climhazzard are also a must against the secret boss Ozma, plus he has enormous amounts of HP. Amarant can use Chakra for healing and No Mercy for max damage. Freya could take the place of Steiner.

I always use Zidane, Dagger, Vivi, and Steiner. best team i've used so far, and i've played the game 10 times

hahaha, of course Zidane is in ever party you make, I think they should have made it so you could take zidane out of the party, so everyone could be leveled up equaly
