Nebekim I actually really wanna know what Fascist theory actually is. We're fed as much bull (or what could be bull as far as i know) about fascists in school and society as we are about communism and anarchists. Also, i don't like people saying, "Oh look at Hitler and Mussolini," because then you're just stooping to the strawman level (or at least, as far as i know they might be strawmen) and you're just as bad as the people who say, "Communism can't work because look at Stalin and Mao," or look at the Anarchists who go around blowing s**t up for no reason," etc. (assuming that they are actually strawmen for fascism, as we all know they are for Communism and Anarchy.) Basically, i know nothing about Fascism, and I want to understand why people would think it's at all right. . . People who think its alright are people like this or this. I've read into it a bit, the same way I've read a little into capitalism. You are absolutly correct: if we wish to be able to promote an ideology (and this is especially true with a radical one), then we need to know what the ******** we are talking about and we need to be able to point to direct portions of opposing ideologies and say, "This quote is against what I believe because..." and we need to analyze everything and we need to pay attention to our reactions to it and we need to question the writings and theories and we need to question ourselves. And and and and and. QUESTION EVERYTHING! That said... Fascism is the epitomy of everything I fight against. I don't really want to bais you here, but fascism stems directly from nationalism and exists because people genuinely believe that their race or their nation is better than everyone else. Fascism exists because people are afraid that their blood will be contaminated with that of inferior races, and the great race will be gone forever. Fascists believe that the needs of the State are greater than those of the individual, and will basically do anything to ensure that their nation rises to the top. Admittedly however, Nazi Germany is a bad example of Fascism because usually it is not quite as race oriented as that. Most of the time it is just fighting to create a supreme nation by giving lots of power to the state, and someone like Mussolini really is a pretty accurate representation of it, but still, when you go around telling everyone how awesome your nation is and theirs sucks and etc., racism is sitting there right under the surface waiting to blow up. Uh, thats pretty much all I have to say on the matter, go read some wikipedia or somthing if you want.

I can put up a defence for both as well to confront that! lol

there's nothing wrong with 'em, same as communism & anarchism both would be perfect in theory but face it people, it wouldn't work... it'd be great to have one of them though..
communism: people who do like heart surgeury (that's spelled wrong I know) getting payd the same as someone who picks up garbage.. The surgeons would demand more money because they think they're work is harder (it's just an example)
anarchism: wouldn't work because people always want more then they have, that's just it..
it's a shame though crying

*moves back on topic*
Anyway, it seems to me that people who believe in Fascism always do so because they sympathize with the militaristic, centralized/nationalist ideals. After reading a bit about Hitler and Mussolini, their main appeal is their harping on nationalistic pride;
Basically, they emphasize certain groups people are unavoidably a part of (race, nation, etc.) and gain their enthusiasm by saying that they are superior to other ethnic groups, boosting their ego (nations for the "non- racist" fascists). It's this "pride" that causes them to have faith in a Fascist government, believing that they know what's best for the people, despite what the people may think.
With the actual cases in history, it's been in extreme situations of national disorder and conflict, and to oppose this, they try to define themselves by merging themselves into one giant, single- minded group. And whenever they intentionally alienate or outlaw another "group", they try to reaffirm that... With recent Fascists (Neo Nazis, etc.), it's pretty much the same, though on a domestic level, and with the same result- they try to find a place to belong to make things simpler, or "more orderly"- and that's Fascism.
"Hey dude, all of the white people are going in that direction... Let's follow!" *enter second holocaust*

Doesn't fascism start from ignorance? That's all, people want someone to follow and when someone grabs the power most of 'em do follow this guy.

Well, having joined the Gaia Nazi Guild and done some research, I can agree that fascism is exactly the opposite of my beliefs, but what I've found is that there are actually some perfecty rational, decent, non-baby-eating people there, who just happen, as has been previously mentioned, to have beliefs which promote nationalism (mainly) as well as to some extent, other beliefs like Racialism (not racism) and oligarchal ruling. In some things, a lot of them are no so different from us. That's not, however saying that they have similar beliefs, or that we should share their beliefs. I personally think that there's something fundamentally wrong with all non-liberal beliefs, but again, it's a matter of opinion, and how you've been raised.

I was talking to a facist the other week [or he came off as one anyway], and he wasn't rude or anything, he told me his beliefs politely, he says he doesn't think less of other races, he just thinks that each race has different abilities.
Oh, he also thinks white people built western civilization. He'd prefer it if all the different races had their own place to live. White people only in this country, hispanic people in that country, etc.
I don't agree with his beliefs at all; in fact I think he's an idiot, but he wasn't rude to me, and as far as I know he isn't rude to anyone unless they're rude to him.
Did I mention he thinks Jews control 96% of the media?
Oh, and white people only make up only 9% of the world population.

At first it sounded like you were talking to a guy i've been talking to in the GNG name of Koon, but i think he was more intelligent than the last bit. Because other than those, that pretty much matches what this Koon guy thinks.

BerettaPunk falsethreats Gaian fascists = Gaian punk rockers You kids know it's true! wtf is that supposed to mean? im considered a punk where i live. grr It could mean a lot of things. It might mean that most of the punks on Gaia are also Nazis (which would be a shame since Skrewdriver sucks), or it could be referencing the "punker than thou" bullshit that exists pretty much everywhere.
