Azure was so numb with pain and shock that she could only obey. She'd tell them later what Liz had said. Right now, those hunters were going down.
"I've got a better idea," she said, taking a small coin-sized object from her pocket, though her voice was flat and monotone. Her tears were gone, replaced by a hard resolve and anger. "This is much more effective. My own invention. Right before you throw it, squeeze the center. You'll see what happens." Azure pressed the shiny object into his hand, her eyes cold and steely. "But you can't goddamn well tell me that you feel nothing right now about the scene out there." "Well, I
can tell you I feel nothing at the sight outside." Mustang shrugged nonchalantly, a magnum held tightly in each hand. He smiled, knowing only too well that he'd just surprised Azure and Ray.
How does he do that? he could almost hear them thinking. His grin widening, Mustang left the building via a back entrance and ran around its perimeter. Hopefully the other two wouldn't injure him during their surprise attack on the machines, because he intended to get up close and personal with the hunks of metal.
The secret to Mustang's stealth and ability to evade sensor detection was the constantly active heat dispersers that resided in each of his red coats. His dispersers never ran out of juice because Mustang usually swapped coats before the internal batteries could expire.
Having enough time creeping around partially destroyed buildings, Mustang charged, guns literally blazing due to their semi-fully-automatic capabilities.
