Maybe Katie changed her looks to look like Karen. Besides, Blue Bell Village is connected to Flower Bud village directly.
Flower Bud has a full on harbor now that transports people from the surrounding villages including the one from Island of Happiness. Its called Flower Bud tours. Perhaps that's where we can have Kei go to..
Just a thought.

Blue Bell isn't directly connected to Flower Bud Village...It's out at sea, Dee. Hence why the island that Blue Bell Village is located, is called Ocean Island.

Hmm, well, I thought that it was connected to it. But perhaps we can change that. Like maybe beyond that locked gate is the Flower Bud docks. I do have shipping docks mentioned on my newly drawn map that I have yet to scan onto Photobucket, so, maybe that's where we can place it.
I know there is a shipping yard in Mineral Town for sure, and that one takes passengers from Mineral town and Forget Me not valley to other places.

Okay, since we are discussing story line ideas...this is kind of an in-between idea from the starting points that Dee and Sythe have.
This deals with the Inn specifically.
Ray and Katie upon the mere thought of running it together after it had been thoroughly swept, a customer entered the Inn. Just glancing at the customer, Ray got a brilliant idea. He suggested holding a weekly fishing tournament for the best fish.
The reward for catching the best fish gets a mystery prize, but with each succeeding week, the prizes get better if the winner is successful more times in a row. Prizes can range from free pies baked by Katie to a free goat from Link's ranch that is still in business.
Ray knew that Link was away on vacation because just before leaving for Blue Bell, Ray had gotten a moonstone from Link as well as a request. It was sort of an impossible task to tend to the goats while also trying to run this inn. He was kind of hoping that this sprite he's heard about would appear to him someday with some advice.
It would then be Dee's idea to have Ray and Katie become a mated pair because the two already get along so famously and their child would run Link's ranch while Link remained on vacation. Dee, of course would use her powers given to her by the Harvest Goddess to speed up the pregnancy process so that the goats wouldn't suffer.
This idea is iffy in the sense that it can suggest un-natural birthing, but then again, it would also bring more magic into the Harvest Moon RP.
The part I do definitely want as my suggestion is the tournament idea.
