It's like halycon said, it depends on the artist, venue, etc.
In the case of the Vegas gig, they didn't care. Vegas is a major tourist city and Tabu would've lost business if they told the people there coming on their vacation that they couldn't take pictures in the club just cuz people wanna take pictures of their own crazy antics when they're getting drunk off their a**. As a result, any videos and pictures of this gig are perfectly fine.

Miyavi is playing on some animeconvention in Bonn.
Apart from the fact that it's an animecon and I'm not that interested, both Plastic Tree and Miyavi are playing there. Two of the artists/bands I admire the most. I'ts like a convention for me!

..I already posted my first miyavi concert in the main miyavi forum in the international music section but ....concerning the second concert in tokyo..(the final for his tour) I have to comment on the audience...
they were so friendly...by the end it did'nt matter if you were foreigner or not we all bonded as fans of miyavi. That made me feel really good...(the first concert everyone stuck to their own friends)....
the pinnicle was when "we love you" came on and everyone had to hold hands...I was unsure that anyone would take mine until the japanese girl next to me smiled and took mine (and would'nt let go even after the song sweatdrop )...but it still made me feel good
