"I love you too." Mimi said quietly. She slowed her breathing and she took Mark's hand into hers. "I love you all." She let out a shaky breath. "Very, very much."
Mimi swallowed and looked at them. "I don't like doctors." She managed to say weakly.

Maureen watched them and closed her eyes for a moment, feeling as if something was stuck in her throat. She twirled a strand of her bright red hair with her finger and bit her lip. She unwillingly found herself looking sideways and glancing at Joanne.

Mark stroked her hair. "I know, honey," he said. "But we want to keep you around for a while longer."
He turned to Collins. "I can run down to the ATM and get some more cash for wood and food if we need it. What do you think?"

Collins nodded, "Yeah. That's a good idea."
Turning towards the windows, some flashing red lights caught his eye, "I think the paramedics are here."

Roger stood and scooped Mimi into his arms. "I'll ride in the ambulence with you." He said to her. "Meet us there." He said to everyone else, heading for the door and down the stairs carefully. "Everything is going to be okay..." He said reassuringly to her, handing her over to a paramedic as he climbed into the back of the ambulence.

It was clear Mimi was scared as she looked up at him. "When will I get to see everyone? What if I don't see them again?" She asked as she began to panic.

Mark turned to Collins, Maureen and Joanne. "I'll be at the hospital in half an hour with some hot takeout food. I promise. Call Benny if you can. Maybe he'll pick you guys up and get you to the hospital, too. I'm taking the bike, it's faster that way."
Pulling his scarf up around his face, he pulled open the door and took his bike down the stairs. His heart was racing. If he biked hard enough, he could get to the ATM, dash through the food emporium, get a bag full of convenience-store gut-rot fast food, and be at the ER in twenty minutes.
"Help me out here, Angel," he muttered, and began to pedal like mad.

Maureen turned to Joanne and Collins. "Are we just supposed to stay here?' she demanded.

"Ssh Mimi. Everyone is meeting us at the hospital, I promise." He said reassuringly, taking her hand. "I promise that you will get to see everyone again."

Mark skidded to a halt in front of the Food Emporium, quickly locked down his bike and went inside. The ATM stood by the door. Withdrawal, one hundred dollars, A...N...G...E...L -- five warm 20's clicked out of the machine. Mark glanced at the ceiling in thanks. "You're a saint, Angel."
He walked quickly over to the deli counter. "Seven... No, Six... s**t, Mimi won't eat... five servings of the kung pao chicken, and ten of those chicken strips. Please, I'm in a rush." He bounced from one foot to the other as the deli clerk dished out his order. "Too much speed? Got the munchies, buddy?" Mark balked. The clerk handed over the bag, and said "That's eighteen bucks."
Mark hurriedly dug a $20 out of his pocket and set it on the counter. "Thanks, don't bother with change." He turned from the counter, jogged to his bike, cinched down the bag of food in the bike basket, and as he unlocked the bike he muttered, "Just hang on, Mimi. I'm on my way."
In the distance, he saw Benny's range rover pulling up to the apartment complex. Surely when he heard what was going on he'd give the others a ride...

The paramedics took the shaking dancer into the ER, telling Roger to wait outside. From inside the room Mimi was crying and asking the doctors if she could see Roger. She was so scared. They wouldn't stop asking her questions. Why couldn't they just let her sleep? "Shut up," "Go away," and "Where's Roger?" Were some of the things she said to the doctors (along with some kind curse words), who in turn asked her questions instead.
"What's today, Mimi?" One of the nurses asked. Obviously she had asked Roger what her name was before they brought Mimi into the room.
"How the hell should I know?" Mimi snapped, "Why does it even matter?" She grit her teeth together, she couldn't stop shaking.
"She's hypothermic," The lead doctor looked at Mimi and gestured to the other people in the room, the nurses came over and brought some blankets over to Mimi and wrapped them tightly around her. By this time the doctors had left.
The nurses continued to hound Mimi with questions, much to her annoyance, but she answered them as best she could as they wheeled her out of the ER, and into one of the public rooms. She groaned as they continued to ask her questions, "Shut up already. Can't I see my friends?"
"Not yet."

Roger stood outside of Mimi's new room, his nose pressed uo to the glass as he watched her. She looked so scared. He wanted more than anything to be allowed to go in and comfort her, to make sure that she was alright. Where the hell was everyone? Mark needed to hurry up. He tapped his foot impatiently, glaring at everyone who passed by. ******** hospitals with their ******** rules.

Collins placed a hand on Roger's shoulder. "They'll let us see her soon, don't worry." He looked a bit annoyed with the hopsital rules as well. At his friend's questioning look, he replied, "I just got here. Sorry for taking so long."

Benny ran up the steps two at a time. he had a bad feeling. Her knocked on Roger's apartment door, and when Maureen answered, her face white, her hand clutched in Joanne's, he didn't even blink. "Where are Mark and Roger? Where are we going? explain while I drive."
