Before the denizen slammed it's shoulder into the rocky rise that Issildia had formerly appeared upon she was forced to retreat higher towards the bony spines that protruded from the creatures neck. Executing a number of agile acrobatics to finally get herself to a position near the side of the beast's elongated dragon-like maw. Her blade lanced out in reply to it's attempts to throw her off, digging deep into the rocky flesh that bore less resistance than the more vital area's of the denizen.
Immediately as the beast retched back in reply to the narrow wound along the side of it's neck, a glowing liquid that must have been the equivalent of blood snaking it's way downward.
Before the it could counter againIssildia leapt upwards once more, using the spines arrayed across it's neck to head towards a particular section of the neck where the rock armor plating was the weakest. It was also the point where the creatures spinal cord was closest to the exterior skin, making it an ideal place to strike.

At this point the denizen had reared back, moving the bulk of it's tremendous weight onto it's back legs before crashing back down. At this point Issildia was moving in the air towards the next to last of the spikes that would grant her access to the back when one of the razor edged spines ripped down her right arm from the shock of the creature landing.

As she alighted on the next spike Issildia repressed the shudder at the pain that was racing up her arm. The healers would have to deal with it later, until then she had an objective to complete. Quickly ripping off a portion of her cloak she roughly bound the arm in a coarse manner before making the final jump to the constantly shifting back of the denizen.

on a distant hill, Rayner gazed down past the Infantry towards the Denizen. He sat upon the leather seat on his exo-suit, the hatch open to give him a wider view. He weezed softly as he watched the action below running through several possible ways of helping in his head. His right hand tightened upon the throttle lever of the left arm, toggling it upwards slowly, which raise the arm and its current Launcher attachment. He pressed one of the finger triggers, cycling through the different rounds of ammunition. He found himself at the mustard gas, both his favorite and least favorite of his options. He raised his mehcanical left hand to his face, feeling the touch of the cold metal meet his burnt and scared flesh. The touch casued his face to wince and twitch. Anger rose up him as his brow narrowed over his lidless eyes. Aiming towards the infantry he squeezed off a few rounds of the Blistering gas towards, giving each shot a slight jerk to spread them out as they would land between the men. He fingered the secondary trigger again cycling to one of the Acid rounds, retargeting the denizen. He wasnt sure if the round would do much, but didn't think any of the others would make much of a difference. He squeezed the trigger, letting watching as the round exploded from the barrel and across the long distance towards the Denizen.

A woman. Osric's brow raised slightly as the envoy threw off her cloak to bound her wounds, captivated by the fight Osric jolted violently as Vick starting unloading rounds into the distance. Some of the infantry men began to collapse as others broke into a run, covering their mouths and following emergency procedure. "What's going on?" Deskant, another of the commanding officers looked back and forth wildly. "Did one of the infantry have a gas canister jam?" he raised up his rifle defensively but then brought it down again, remembering to close his helm to avoid taking in the gas. Osric and Vick doing the same, Vick shook his head as he reloaded and again took to firing at the unknown assailaint. "Negative, we have a hostile. It's that slimy turd who stole the prototype exosuit-- if I can get a shot before he closes the hatch I may be able to take him down, but the suit is fast for it's size-- the thing's a marvel." "It certainly should be," chided Osric "After all the money I had to throw into the project, who does that man think he is? That's my suit he's boggarting. Send scouts after him if he tries to make a run for it-- I can't pass up this chance! Ignore the envoy even I don't care! That suit is the future of war!"

As the acid rounds thundered into the side of the denizen boring horrid gashes into the armor plating of the creature, Issildia who now stood over the lightly plated base of the beast's skull raised her sword point down over her foe's spine and without hesitation plunged it down into the unprotected flesh below.
The denizen's howls of anger from the acid rounds were suddenly silenced as the envoy twisted her blade with a sickening jerk, severing the spinal cord.
Time slowed for a brief moment as gravity came into effect and the hulking monstrosity crashed to the ground, it's front legs immediately buckling under it as the strain of it's wounds finally took a toll.
Already Issildia was gone from her position on its back and miraculously standing on the ground no worse for the wear.

By this time the De`ris Ilen Forces were moving in on the scene. Issildia spared a look at what seemed to have been the human than had aided in the destruction of the denizen before a voice spoke beside her.

"What are our orders?" questioned Commander Tsume as his entire battalion appeared in a hiss of shadow behind him. At least it wasn’t more of the more tight lipped of the battalion captains that resented taking orders from an envoy. Even though the envoys were not part of the regular army they wished for their orders to be heeded when they are given. But Tsume was luckily and old friend of a sorts.

"I was some cover on that human that fired on the denizen." She said flatly as she quickly flicked her blade to the side to remove any residue gleaned by the battle with the denizen.

"You can't be serious...Issildia the Prince will not condone this" Tsume said with distaste.
"Presently I am the highest command in the field....so yes I am quite serious. I will deal with his highness later." She uttered with complete disdain at mention of the Prince.

"Now go." Issildia ordered before she leapt up onto the toppled carcass of the denizen to get a better view of the battlefield.
Talking down the human's officers was always the highlight of their battles with the humans and would most certainly be her next objective.

Cut off the head and the body will die put quite simply.

~~~~~~~~~~~
As bullets hurtled towards Rayner from the human battlefront the air rippled darkly in front of the manned exo-suit as the bullets seemed to slow as if hitting a barrier of translucent darkness. Then in unison the bullets clattered harmlessly to the ground. The source of this unusual salvation became obvious as Tsume's unit could be seen settled off to the right and the left of the exo-suit and it's unseen occupant.
The Moriera casters lowered their outstretched hands from where than had in symphony with each other created the barrier.
"Complements of the Lady Nevar." Tsume said flatly with a discreet glance at the towering exo suit before turning back to his soldiers who on signal began the move forward towards the human lines offering their tempory services to cover the human in his advance.
((So much in one day whee Forgive me, I've allowed my Rp skills to rust))
Boots treaded softly on rich soil as their owner was up to her usual pasttime of pacing the town. Every so often, an eye dared roam over this person, but then, few can truely ignore a figure swamped in black. An ominous figure that brought forth feelings of unease and fear to its views. The brilliant green of the person's eyes made a stark contrast to her attire, and those eyes obediently stared straight ahead. That stare. So rigid and demanding, it only made people unconsciously back away. None of them wanted her attention, but a bit more softness in the face, a little less control in the simple movements of walking would have relaxed them; would've reminded them that this person wasn't all that different from themselves.
The young woman continued her march through town feeling many anxious pairs of eyes on her. She hated being the center of attention. Yes, she could have taken the shortcut and arrived at her destination with minimal fuss, but being seen did have its advantages. Word would get to he whom she was coming to see that she was on her way there. Speculation would rise as to what prompted this visit. Then maybe, just maybe, that man would do something to heighten security on the island. Yes, let the people stare. Let them shake in their boots with a fear as mighty as to detach their own limbs to get away. Let the fear consume them until they can no longer bear her presence on their very country. Hate is born from fear, perhaps if she can make them hate her --one of their own-- they would hate also their invaders.
Her boots stopped sunddenly, at the bottom of a small set of steps. Her face turned sharply right, eyes flickered, and plump lips uttered these words to a guard:
"Tell him to come forth, it's too nice a day for us to chat in a stuffy old office."
A grin spread through the remains of his scared lips. His plan of stopping the Infantry had succeeded but he hadnt planned them coming after him. He quirked a brow, flicking sevarl switched as his hands moved around the consoles. As the Hatch lowered to close as small yet bulky mechanic limbs reached their way down the right arm of the suit connecting themselves in ports open the launcher and locking themselves in with a twist of their jointed tips. The large clamps that latched the Launcher to the forearm opened suddenly, letting the weapon dropas the limbs pulled it to the back of the shoulder where a open clamp accepted it. The forearm suddenly split in four dirrections, the thick metal plating spreading as various pneumatic jacks pushed the long saw blade forward. The forearm closed to their original position. His eyes were distracted from the charging infantry missing any shots fired upon him as he surveyed the console, Making sure everything was working properly and stable. Rayner finally caught sight of the bullets, wincing as he awaited their inevitable impact. He watched as they suddenly stopped, hitting some sort of barrier. Movement suddenly caught his eyes as he gazed aboutt rhough the small portal of vision before him. He gave a nod his thanks to the Moriera man who had spoken, who appeared to be the leader of the group of soldiers. He triggered the throttle of the right arm as sharp chain of the saw blade suddenly came to life. A wicked grin spread upon his deformed face as he followed the Moriera soldiers, pedaling each leg of the exo-suit forward, the beast of a suit gaining momentum and speed as he charged into the lines of the Military he was once apart of, shredding and crushing anything that neared, with the suits thick mechanical limbs.
Osric was torn. The military's pride venture-- or the head of the envoys. His eyes flicked back and forth like a cat, as men took to combat position; the brave souls digging in their heels and setting up slotted metal flats as shields while they took fire on the enemy forces. Vick roughly grabbed at Osric's shoulder, if it had been anyone else to make such contact Osric would have killed them but instead looked to Vick ready to listen. Nodding he said, "I'll engage the suit, I can't take it down but if I can shoot a tracker onto his back he can't take it off by himself without damaging the life support, and the freak would never risk that-- you engage the envoy on speeder, Deskant and the infantry will cover you while they fight." Osric returned contact to Vick, squeezing his shoulder and nodding silently as the company aboard the tuskar unloaded. Heading their seperate ways, Osric mounted a speeder bike and sped off down the line to the Envoys. Six concerned men followed, two even on foot-- their dedication undying they thought it suicide for Osric to charge at the enemy like this; but Osric decided then and there that he was stronger than the denizen, stronger than the envoys-- if he couldn't secure a victory he may as well die.
Unsheathing the dreadblade Vorpael he held it in his right, letting it drag on the ground, kicking up dust to guise his moving form; turning on the blade the cogs inside spun wildly and the blade roared like a beast. Through his goggles he confirmed the position of the envoy who took down the Denizen and charged foward until he closed the distance, slamming down the brakes he swung up the blade to catch the top handle in his left. Dismounting the speeder and removing his headgear he eyed the envoy, ignoring the others in his proximity. "I do hope you don't let your 'victory' over the denizen stir your spirits milady, Mehtu has far grander instruments of war than domesticated monoliths, the Denizen was merely our war drum..But I will say that I'm surprised an envoy could kill it, you see in my textbooks it told of a time when envoys were diplomats, not shifty-eyed assassins..It's a direct reflection of your fop prince." Pacing in a semi-circle around the envoy he stopped off to her right, letting the vorpael rest comfortably near his middle, a position of ease but still deadly if the envoy came near. "I'm sure this will fall upon deaf ears, but this is regulation in my country you see-- we are asked to offer a country to surrender before we have to obliterate them...The humanitarians say it saves thousands-- but it's just extra work for me. What say you envoy?"
PostPosted: Thu Mar 15, 2007 5:39 pm
"My brethren care not how our actions reflect upon the Prince. Perhaps we were as you say, nothing more than petty killers. But at least I can sleep soundly knowing that we have yet to reach that level of absolute corruption that you and your people have attained. You were once a great civilization; but now your cities lie in shambles as law and what was deemed as justice was traded in for military rule. Records were 'cleansed' as you would call it and freedom was traded for a sense of security. You grew suspicious and afraid of the world around you after the Fall....And now the shining example of human achievement stands before me...." Issildia said as she slowly turned to face the man, her words laced with utter venom.
"How is that for diplomacy human?" She concluded with utter sarcasm as she met his eyes for a brief moment before Issildia attacked outright.
Her blade flashing out in an instant as she cleared the brief distance between them to make a clean horizontal slash towards his ribs.
Osric sighed, lazily throwing his left shoulder to point the vorpael vertically to clash with the the envoy's blade-- the saw teeth stopped momentarilly but anymore contact would surely shatter the woman's weapon. Pushing foward with his torso he glared at his opponent. "You haughty roaches are all the same-- you were born with your power and act as if you are better than everyone else because of it; we are reaching the gates whereon the humans shall have their revenge for your race's oppression! Humans are born with no powers, we have to fight to merely stay alive-- we pull ourselves up by the boot and conquer our adversity through sheer guile and wit, this planet yearns and bleeds in hope for a new age! Our powers that we built with our own hands will soon trump those of the gods! We are the superior race-- and all who stand in our path to enlightenment must be crushed!"
The exo-suits saw blade thrashed and hacked about, the teeth ripping through everything it came into contact with. The crimson liquid of his victims painted the earth and the thick shell of his exo-suit as it escaped them. His own expression seemed maniacal his deformities adding to his appearance of insanity. He pedaled forward, toggling the arm throttles around without hesitation, as if part of the mechanical beast he operated. With a jerkof the throttle and a quick squeeze of the trigger the Left hand opened, catching a soldier in it, the wrist flicking to the side as the hand reopened tossing the victim towards the saw blade. His inside spewed outward as he hit it, as if he had been sent through the wood chipper, though the remaining pieces not so fine or small. Around him, the exo-suit shook, form its continuous movements the engine in the back roaring as the machine's exhaust rose, polluting the air around him. Saliva ocasionally flew in strings from his mouth where his lip was missing, unable to control it as he weezed in deep breaths from the excitement of murdering his enemies.
Vick's grip on his shotgun tightened as he seethed 'That son of a b***h!" pulling a chaff grenade from his hip he threw it to the ground in front of the exo-suit and continued his advancement to the rear, letting off two shots at the left leg's pivot joint as he circled quickly to the back, if all went as planned the chaff would disrupt the suit's systems long enough to either let him put on the tracker undetected or force the rider to open the hatch so Vick could shoot him if he turned around.
"You would challenge the gods..." Issildia said as they stood locked in combat for a abrupt moment before she drew back quickly.
"And you speak ill of our ambitions and pride...when you stand their making claims of superiority." She said as she angled her blade back and settled into stance.
"Our Prince may make similar statements towards your people...but that does not mean all of De`ris Ilen is of the same opinion. The corruption does not run quite so deep as you would imagine...But it runs deep enough it would seem." She added with an edge of bitterness before launching into a second attack at the human.
Though as she neared him with her blade sweeping in low, her form suddenly dissipated into a twisting black mist that immediately reformed behind her opponent, her sword Nyththirren lancing in at a slight angle toward his neck.
"What allegiance do you have to the gods? They have forsaken us! What allegiance do you have to your prince for that matter?" A black wisp shone in the reflection of his blade, just as it began to form Osric took a short jump foward and turned, swinging the Vorpael in a wild semi-circle arc toward his opponent, ready to cleave her in two.
At the last moment Issildia altered the direction of her sword to plunge downwards, making contact with her opponent's blade for only a sliver of a second before she twisted back into a single handed back-flip to put some distance between them. Issildia to her own surprise was impressed with the human's combat skills; though at this moment it was obvious that the duel had yet to take on a more serious tone.
"My allegiance to Tarion is undying, as it is for many of my brethren. You say that they gods have forsaken us but their presence can still be felt through the gifts that they granted us. Perhaps for the humans it is more difficult to sense...but it is still there."
Issildia paused for what seemed to be a long moment before speaking again, her expression now changed to one etched in grim lines of stone.
"But an envoy's allegiance to the Prince...that is another matter. We serve him as long as such service involves the protection of our people..."
At that moment Issildia's lowered left hand flicked out a trio of slender kunai into position between her fingers. Without waiting another moment she lunged forward swinging her blade in low towards him while launching the kunai knives at his upper torso.
The grenade caught his eyes, just as it hit the ground before him, "Damn!" Rayner spat as he felt the shockwave of the grenade nullifying his mechanical arm as he the the suits systems also shut down.Rayner was in silence now, with the exception of the Gas-powered motor still running on the suits back as well as the battle raging around him. He had about 30 seconds or so until the the suit came online. He heard the sound of metal coming together, felt it even as a pain seared up his thigh from his knee. Someone was shooting at the joints, but luckily, the military had already thought of that kind of attack and had reinforced them. The pain had been from one of the bullets ricocheting off of the joints and through the side of his knee, ripping the scared skin and chipping bone. He winced at the pain feeling completely vulnerable in this situation. If he had waited longer before stealing the exo-suit perhaps there would be some more decent weaponry. His brow raised for a moment, remembering the entire reason he had come to view the battle. small colored lights came on suddenly, the system, turning on once more. He moved forward once more, his wound causing his suit to even have a limp because of the stress now put onto his own leg. Rayner surveyed the small radar as well as through the small shielded portal before him searching towards the back of the lines. "Ah ha! Found ya." Forgetting his pain, mostly due to numbness, his suit started forward, the motor becoming louder from the sudden work it must do.
The chain saw separated any obstacle that came before him as he made his way through the lines of soldiers , leaving a trail of gore and red earth behind him. The left forearm opened suddenly from all sides as the hand rotated verically 180 degress, replacing it with a large clamp. The forearms closed as the wrist pivoted the large clamp around several times. He barely regarding anything at the moment, needed to accomplish his mission to help with his future plans. The clamp soon became red as it crushed limbs and bodys in its vice-grip. Finally he made his way to one of the armored ammunition trucks. He hacked at its sides, making an opening witht he chain saw and pulling it open as the clamp closed down on the thick metal. He scanned the metal cases, pushing them aside with the the suits left appandage until he found what he was looking for. A chaingun and another metal crate of misc. hardware and circuitry, which was used mostly to help replace damaged life-support units. The handles of the crates slid intot he notched of the clamp as he pulled the two boxes from the truck. Hg gazed around not particularly wanting to participate in the battle any longer. His mind had one single objective, and to accomplish it, the crates now in his possesion must stay in-tact.Finally he fled, trampling and slicing through soldiers as hemade his escape. He cared for nothing, including the several new wounds in his thighs and calves; shots fired from his helpless victims before dealing them death.
((not sure if I was gonna be on the next few days so I thought I mmight just exit momentarily. I gave ya plenty of chances to attach your tracers if ya want. wink ))
