((hahah I just joined this guild.. and hell, I like it already!))
Indeed, they might sound the same, break them down, and both parts are some what Matched, Ryan's Lyrics to Petes Lyrics, I think Ryans has just a bit more depth to it, but, Pete is showing quite the latter with "Infinity On High" Patrick's Voice to Brendon's Voice, Is well, I think that Patrick has a bit more range. Yet in the Rolling Stone Artical for Panic! Ryan siad that Brendon has the best impression of Golum from Lord Of The Rings. ((which I kinda laughed out loud at that when I read it, followed by my Study Hall Shushing me.)) Andy and Spencer's Drumming matched. Joe and Pete, ehh. Ryan and Joe/Patrick.
Inifinity On High does indeed have Ryan Ross, playing the Guitar Solo on "Take Over The Breaks Over." Now i have heard Fall Out Boy Preform that song live.. and frankly, It sucks with out the Solo in it.
At This Moment, Fall Out Boy rules my iPod, but of course Panic! rules in my heart. Well duh, seeing as Ryan Ross is my future Husband!

Well duh, seeing as Ryan Ross is my future Husband! eh. brendon kind of sounds like stevie nicks (spelling?), from fleetwood mac, at some points. just the goat-ness of it. but that's his style. stumpy (as i've called him. always. these people get a lot of nicknames from me) however, tends to.. erm. mumble a bit. though his enunciation has gotten a lot better on infinity on high. i haven't heard ttotbo live yet, (i will june 2nd. wooooot.) but i imagine that the joe trohman interpretation of the solo will be a little different, since they both have different guitar playing styles.

I love both bands immensely, but I have to say, Panic! at the disco takes precedence in my mind at this time. Panic! At the disco has more of a bitter, sharp feel to it's music and really exposes life. Fall out boy takes the same idea of exposure and soothes it.
Fall out boy still rocks though. Not sure about this new record so much, but maybe that's just me. mrgreen
It's a hard choice though...

I don't think they're really the same at all
People are just stupid and think all "emo" music is the same
I will say that I like Fall Out Boy more, but I love both bands.

Ryan played that solo?? There's something I didn't know.
I like both bands equally, and like someone said earlier "FOB rules my iPod, Panic! rules my heart"
Frankly, after listening to the remaining songs off of FOB's albums, FOB has an original sound in the earlier albums, but Patricks voice gets bolder and rangier (if that's a word) in the newer albums.
Seriously, compare the song Pretty In Punk or Switchblades and Infidelity to something like Grand Theft Automn.(sp)
I think they sound similar, but once you listen closely, you can deffinatly tell a big diffrence.

the one similarity i see is that they both repeat god d&($ in their songs... both This Aint A Scene and I Write Sins have it in them(i think FOB copied panic) . And panic is also different because they dumped Brent and FOB never switched any members. and to whoever hates FOB... Pete Wentz was the one who signed panic onto his record company O.o how could you hate them after Pete signed panic?

Both bands have the same style of music, so i dont see any difference.I see Fall out boy and Panic at the disco like the new Good Charlotte/Simple Plan or Nsync/Backstreet boys thing. But eh...i dont like them that much anyway.

I think Panic! at the Disco is way better. Sure, I like Fall Out Boy, but I've only actually listened to about 3 of their songs. And of heard all of Panic! 's songs.
I personally think they sound very different. It seems to me that a few of FOB 's songs are kind of easy-going, while all of P!ATD 's songs have depth.
No offense to any Fall Out Boy fans, that's just my opinion.
