Death is just like life...but backwards...

Death is just like life...but backwards...
Personally, I prefer "Life is for the living. Death, too, is for the living. If you are fascinated or entertained by death, make the most of it while you're alive. When you really are dead, it won't hold any interest at all.". But that's me.

And I should stop there, or I'll just end up typing out the entire final chapter of SS!

About SS! though, I do so love the end of "Writter's Disgust by Anton "Tony" LaVey"

For those who don't know what I'm on about, let me type it up for you.

Quote:
Unfortunately my spell checker and on board dictionary seems to have crashed but as can be seen, it does nothing to hamper my writting. If you have something to say than say it. A talented writter will find many market's open to him or herself. The most important thing to remember is, "Get it published." Once your work as been excepted, their will always be new demand's. Just as a musicians composition's will be heard (and they will, thanks to the mackerel of modern technology, sequencers, mixers, ect.) an excepted writters writting is bound to be read (smile).
If ewe don't get it, you phail.

Grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

While searching for that quote's author, I found a few more interesting quotes...
Dan Rather
A tough lesson in life that one has to learn is that not everybody wishes you well.

Ian McKellen
I've often thought the Bible should have a disclaimer in the front saying this is fiction.

The Great Retardo
"To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong."
-Edgar Allen Poe
Brilliant. Superb, even.

Reminds me of the phrase "I'd rather be happy than right everytime".

It's better when followed up by "That usually never happens".

some quotes i like

To bad stupidity isnt painful ~LeVey

At least two thirds of our miseries spring from human stupidity, human malice and those great motivators and justifiers of malice and stupidity, idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of religious or political idols ~Aldous Huxley

Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction ~Blaise Pascal

Battle not with monsters
lest ye become a monster
and if you gaze into the abyss
the abyss gazes into you ~nietzshe

What makes it so plausible to assume that hypocrisy is the vice of vices is that integrity can indeed exist under the cover of all other vices except this one. Only crime and the criminal, it is true, confront us with the perplexity of radical evil; but only the hypocrite is really rotten to the core
~arrendt

The belief in a supernatural source of evil is not necessary; men alone are quite capable of every wickedness. ~Joseph Conrad

One that i found quite true in my life

“I fear being like everyone I hate, I fear failure, I fear losing control. I love balancing between chaos and control with everything I do. I always have a fear of going one way or another, getting lost in something, or losing everything to get lost in. And I fear being a completely acceptable sheep in society.” - Marilyn Manson

One of my favorites:

Alazlam J. Durai
The body is but a vessel for the soul. A puppet which bends to the soul's tyranny. And lo, the body is not eternal, for it must feed on the flesh of others, lest it return to the dust whence it came. Therefore must the soul deceive, despise, and murder men.

It's the opening quote for the game Vagrant Story. There's a reason I carry the "Blood Sin" (also from this game) as a tattoo high on my back.

Creativity is merely focused insanity.
mine

and just because I agree with it.
"I know not the weapons in which world war 3 will be foguht with. But world war 4 will be fought with sticks and stones."
Albert Einstein when seeing the first nuclear mushroom.

Ooooh Quotes biggrin

I must give credit to LaVey's popular "It's too bad stupidity isn't painful."

But, really, one of the things that got me to look at the world in a perspective that would better allow Satanism to begin with was H.P. Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu. It would be a bit much to quote the whole thing, but it's easily Google'd.

Stop! You reek of devil magic! Have you been meddling in the affairs of the dark artists again? ~unknown

I love acting. It's so much more real than life. ~Oscar Wilde

This is a shrine, it's where they worship gods.
No, this is a shrine. We do not protect gods, but people. ~Random Tsubasa chapter (philosophy from anime XD)

Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus
which translates to: Never tickle a sleeping dragon. ~JK Rowling.

And, lastly:
Over the centuries, mankind has tried many ways of combating the forces of evil...prayer, fasting, good works and so on. Up until Doom, no one seemed to have thought about the double-barrel shotgun. Eat leaden death, demon... ~Terry Pratchett.

It's amazing that such ordinary writers can give so much insight. I suppose that's the point, though, isn't it?

"Look long enough into the abyss and the abyss looks into you."

"He who humbles himself wishes to be exalted. "

~~~~~~~Nietzsche, both of them
"All warfare is based upon deception."
~~~~~~~Sun Tzu

"Life is war and everyone's a combatant."

~~~~~~~I forget but it ties in nicely with the above.
"I lay awake all night with toothache, thinking about toothache and lying awake."
~~~~~~~maybe C. S. Lewis

And I suppose I should include my sig in any collection of favorite quotes.
