Has anyone upgraded to FC7? I'm dual-booting FC6 and XP. I really like FC6. Once you have your repositories setup you can just "yum install (program name)" and the program will be downloaded and installed.

There is a Add/Remove Programs GUI, but I like using the command line better. It's quicker and you don't have to watch a dialog box.

I just wish I would have partitioned my Linux a little bigger.

As far as partitioning NTFS, Use Knoppix's live CD to resize the NTFS partition. Follow Dual boot Fedora Linux and Windows XP, resizing NTFS

Hope this helps!

You should be able to use fdisk to shrink your ntfs to give your Linux more space. As from adding programs SuSE is the same way

I think fdisk is destructive. I could be wrong.

If you do something wrong it is, but if you know what you are doing than it is so powerful nothing can match it xd There is a command for fdisk that only shrinks down a ntfs filesystem.

I have Knoppix's live cd. On the system is a utility called qparted. It's a lot like Partition Magic.

Before you use it, it is (strongly) suggested that you defrag and backup your important data.

To use qparted, you have to unmount the partition(s) you want to resize then run the utility as root. Select the partition you want to resize and it gives you a dialogue box that has the information about the partition in it.

Once you tell the program what you want to do, you commit. After a few seconds, the partition is resized.

When you boot back up into the Windoze, the partition will check itself and reboot. Then you are able to go into whatever os you want to.
