Just received a newsletter from Shojo Beat:
"This month, art moves to the head of the class: we profile four different art schools around the country, highlight their pros and cons, and leave you with the ultimate decision of deciding which school is right for you. Also on the syllabus is manga maven Matsuri Hino, artist and creator of Vampire Knight. She paid us a visit at the SB office, granted us an exclusive interview, and gave us a private drawing lesson, and we share it all with you. Plus, bone up on American manga artists, get schooled on vampire hunters and slayers, test your knowledge of visual kei, get a quick tutorial on numerology, and learn about the sweet Japanese holiday White Day. Our March issue is chock-full, so don't miss it!"

I guess that's where Malice Mizer comes in.

<__< Dude.... why the HELL would they want to test OUR knowledge when they don't know s**t?? -___- And what retard doesn't know how to spell Malice?

Seriously, if your going to write about something, KNOW what your writing about! =/ Ugh... I'm seriously going to write them a letter. <__< Or something... I saw we ALL write them letters... <__< Annoy the hell out of them for writing something so retarded.

XD For anyone who wants to join in the letter writing:

http://www.shojobeat.com/faq/

<__< And under the music awards, the put AN Cafe under the "Rising Stars" and described them as "an agressive four-piece visual kei rock group"

o_O Wtf? -_- They are not aggressive.

=O I love Tetsu, I think his voice is awesome. It's different, but unique in a good way, in my opinion. I don't really see why so many people dislike him...Tetsu was an important part of Malice Mizer.

He may not have a smooth voice like Gackt or Klaha, but the music world would be really damn boring if everyone had the same type of voice going on. =/ Don't get me wrong, I love both Gackt and Klaha, but there voices aren't exactly anything particularly special.... <__<

And since his days in Malice Mizer, Tetsu's vocals during lives has improved alot! XD

That's something I can agree with you on. I heard a song from one of the bands he joined after MM and he really improved. 3nodding

i think "Tonight, I Will Fall" is my favorite post-malice-mizer-tetsu song. next to a couple of other songs.

Oh, yeah! I read that! When I saw it, me and my dachis were all hopping around screaming "Mana-sama! It's Mana-sama! THE Mana-sama is in an issue of Shojo Beat!" As soon as we mentioned vk and Shojo beat, a lotta otakus basically attacked us for the issue. It was quite a moment.

GAh... well, they didn't do AS horrible as they usually do with their articles. *remembers back to their article over the ganguro scene*

Though they did mention the pic of Diru was in their EARLY days.

Reading 'Malace' kept making me think of mace... XDD

An Cafe... some of their stuff is agressive. Some of it isn't. Especially not the song they used - Smile Ichiban Ii Onna? *I also notice they only mention members sex when there's a girl in the band. XDD*

Shojo Beat... sucks because they don't really know what they're talking about.

I really loved where this rant on Shoujo Beat was going *laughs* I didn't know they had articles on bands tho : x I just know them for the manga *shy retarded neglected laugh* but dang, from the sounds of things they have it all wrong D: I'm really not buying the magazine now *not like I ever did, but that just tops it* and seriously, An Cafe as hardcore rock? Someone needs to be stoned to death at Shoujo Beat >.> Last I heard of An Cafe they hired some American dude as their bassist I think? Oh well, this is a Mana forum so I'll shut up now XD

I haven't been following An Cafe since Bou left. Its just...one of the members looks like a DJ Ozma cosplayer all the time practically, and Miku looks like he's on crack because he's doing the eye thing. Its ridiculous. I think Bou left at a good time, because around the time he left he started doing the eye thing too and it was just freaky...

they spelled malice mizer as "malace mizer" like six times!! D:
they also said that memoire was their first single in 1994 D:
they also made it seem like gackt was the only singer, and that he was the leader, and that malice mizer (malace mizer to them) broke up because gackt left D:

i think someone needs to write a letter to the editor. i would like to scan the whole page and circle the mistakes and give them a history of malice mizer using the particular corrected details they got incorrect. i would also like to point out to them that a lot of otakus are going to think that gackt is tetsu because of the pictures they put in there.

i would also like to point out to them that l'arc has always been j-rock, and that...J-ROCK IS NOT VISUAL KEI, AS THEY SO IGNORANTLY KEPT SAYING IT WAS.

i am ending the rant now before i get much more into it. i was thinking about it for a few hours after i bought the new issue today (well, technically yesterday).

I wish i could smack them -.- such ignorant people should not be writing magazines
now people who dont know much about japanese music will get the wrong impressions D:
ah, see, but they do not know much about manga either. nor do they know anything about japanese fashions (as they made it apparent in the feb issue). i have vowed to myself not to believe anything they write. they also made Nana sound ghetto...somehow. the characters go, "aye, nobu, what up?" instead of "hi, nobu, how are you?" i have read original scans. they use some slang, but not too much. i hate american translations. i sort of want to get a job there as the modern culture writer so that there are no more mistakes. i would check my information fifty times. i want to educate those otakus, not mislead them >.< but would i really want to surround myself with idiots?

i'll take note to never read this magazine ever again xD

while we're at it, the Shonen Jump magazine that comes in America fails epically. most of the manga they have already has been showing on TV by Cartoon Network, including:
Naruto
Yuu Yuu Hakusho
One Piece
Hikaru No Go
Rurouni Kenshin
Bleach
and i think they also had Death Note in there too...

@ Mercury Heart: i have a Shojo Beat from a couple of years ago.. it has a picture of HYDE in it.. but i get annoyed by that pic because the photo is manipulated to the point that HYDE looks like he's a CG character! xD
and do you mean that dude from an cafe with the curly blond hair (the hair that bothers ryu very much)

Look at Miku's eyes from Odoru Meruhen Tokei pv and compare them to Snow Scene pv. You'll see what I'm talking about.

About Shonen Jump. The Shonen Jump in America is similar to the one in Japan. The reason why cartoon network brought those anime to the u.s is because they were very popular in japan because of Shonen Jump. When the anime got popular in the u.s, they brought Shonen Jump to the u.s. That's what I can deduce.

*laughs* Dear God Hyde is like in every magazine I find XD But the solo Hyde is different from the lead singer's Larc~en~ciel's Hyde right? *or is his spelled Hide? @___@ * And yes I mean the guy with curly blonde hair *laughs* I wasn't really a big fan of An Cafe though, they're one of the few jrock bands I don't like that much.
